Love on the Ice is a sweet introduction novella to the author’s Palmer City Voltage series, which focuses on the game of hockey. This was a short yet enjoyable story about two people who connected years earlier and hoped for a relationship, but it never happened. In this story, Alexei and Ginny get their second chance at romance, as well as the potential for an instant family with Ginny’s twin niece and nephew. I liked both of these main characters and enjoyed their reunion. I wish there had been an epilogue to finish off the book, however, I am now looking forward to starting book one in the series.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
Loved this book! Kerry Evelyn is an amazing storyteller. Such wonderful characters. A must read!
I loved this short, sweet second chance romance. It was a complex story about accepting love and moving forward. I enjoyed that the main characters helped kids with disabilities play hockey/skate. It is definitely worth reading, it will make you smile.
A short and sweet romance with lovable characters. The details of the surroundings took you to where they were in the story. I didn’t want to put the book down! 🙂
Love, love, love this book. Couldn’t put it down. Great story.
Ginny was headed for the Olympics as a figure skater when her sister and brother-in-law died in an accident. Now she’s raising their twins. Alexei met Ginny in Sochi, and runs into her again when they’re working together on a charity project. She’s afraid to get involved with him – he’s a hockey player and could be traded and have to move. She doesn’t want him to break her heart, or the hearts of the children – he wants forever, with all of them. This was a nice second chance story with two very sweet people who love these children.

In this story, Alexei Kriz relocates to Colorado Springs to play hockey. He is thrilled when he discovers the girl who got away is working as a figure skating instructor at his team’s home rink. Ginny Perdita gave up her Olympic figure skating dreams to raise her niece and nephew after her sister and brother-in-law die in an accent.
Love on the Ice is a feel-good second chance romance. Alexei and Ginny lose touch following meeting at the Olympics. After a chance encounter, they get a second chance. Kerry Evelyny does a nice job portraying Alexi’s Czech background and dialect. I like that both Alexi and Ginny are good with the kids. Ginny has some things she needs to consider in this story. I like that she is thoughtful about her decisions. Alexi is persistent and genuinely nice guy. I recommend this story to people who enjoy second chance sports romances. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
I skated when I was younger and any story having to do with the ice has a special place in my heart. I loved both the intercultural nature and the Christian element. I definitely appreciated the realistic portrayal of young children. It was a bit of a whirlwind that made me wish it had been made into a full length book that took its time.
