Eva has had a lot of changes recently most aren’t good but now she is surrounded by those that care about her (even when they meddle!) and is running her late grandmother Lilith’s Brewed with a View coffee shop. Mac is in town to face his past and learn more about where he is from and after visiting Eva’s shop he has more to keep him intrigued about Cinnamon Bay. Both Eva and Mac are a bit lost in life so it was was seeing them learn more about who they are and seeing their attraction to each other grow. Be ready for a great sweet read and was it the Cafe Amour that brought them together?!
A delightful magical story of Faith, hope and love. The first book in the Cinnamon Bay Series was truly a feel good love book. It’s just what one needs in small town love story writing. It flows well, with that little bit of magic that everyone that falls in love wants to believe that they have in their own love story. Not all love is without angst, and because Eva cannot trust herself to love because of her parents divorce and her own first failed engagement, she manages to create her own. Not to fear, Mac is there to try and pick up the pieces and convince Eva that there is true love, and it doesn’t necessarily rely on magic love potions, but if it does, why not go with it?
These wonderful authors have created a beautiful sounding town with all the draws of a touristy, homey, great character living, magical historical east coast haven. I am so excited to see what other characters will join the troublesome three, the quirky free living cousin, the near blind bat swinging Auntie, and the nosey well meaning coffee assistant and his husband that have their own romantic story in there somewhere. The town provides something for everyone, and I can’t wait for the next in series to find out more. Well done, ladies, well done.
I LOVED THIS STORY
I always thought that love potions were just a hoax. I read this book and was surprised at the revelation because it had the lead woman in a total mental mess. The lead man was more practical. This is an awe-inspiring and eye-opening story about how your past problems run your life; especially after Eva talks to her cousin and Macklin reads the letter from his deceased grandfather.
(3 stars) – an entertaining enough beach read
The story’s opening scene is cute – a bit over dramatized but it was a little funny, so it engaged me right away.
The rest was decent. I found Mac’s family search really interesting. Mac & Eva’s relationship development goes back & forth maybe a bit much, but overall, theirs was a good story.
*Spoiler potential*
The concept of the Café Amour was made so much of & repeated so much that the end was a tad confusing – Eva didn’t believe in it, yet apparently she did after all & needed to be straightened out so she didn’t throw away what she might have…?
From the way it started, I had hoped for one of those stories where it leaves the reader wondering if it might be true. That it didn’t wasn’t a fault, but the handling of it seemed like the author started out with one intention & finished with another.
The thing with Eva’s dad was also off. It seemed like we were going to learn something pivotal about his abandonment of her, like her mom had hidden some info, but we never did. So did he inexplicably appear after sooo long just to upset her so she’d fall apart later with Mac? It didn’t ring true.
*End Spoilers*

*Clean romance level: passionate kissing, an explicit though not overly graphic sex scene with multiple implied ones that follow as the story progresses
*Language: occasional use of common swear words
*Religion: uses the Lord’s Name in vain several times
This would appeal to a true romantic. A story with a touch of the whimsical. The characters had promise but I notice there were a few co-writers, perhaps trying to do too much with the tale. At times I wasn’t quite sure what the focus was on & it irritated me that both H’s were to quick to act & not see reason. One, maybe twice but not every time.
The busy bodies has been done before & while it’s a nice touch I don’t feel for me it achieved the desired effect.
The story wasn’t bad it just didn’t quite come together for me.

A little steamy romance with love potion and 3 crazy matchmakers. I enjoyed it.
A well written perfectly paced story pulling you in from the start. How Eva and Mac build a relationship in a small town everyone wants to grow up in because you are known by all. You learn to work through your problems with friends and family. A good start to a great series. Cannot wait to read the rest in the series.
This first book of the Cinnamon Bay Romance series and we meet Eva Holloway, the owner of Brewed with a View coffee shop and Mac Jenssen who is trying to find about his birth family. Then you have the lovely old lady matchmakers Hattie, Trixie and Birdie. Eva is afraid of romance/love after Sean called off their engagement and her parents divorce. Eva decided to change the menu and took off legendary love concoction the Cafe Amour drink off. Mac happens to walk into the coffee shop. The matchmaking trio talks Eva into making a cup of the Cafe Amour drink and she and Mac both take a sip. Mac ends asking her to help him in his search about why his grand father gave him up for adoption. Mac loves his adopted family but, he needs to find some answers. By the time Eva closes up she is not sure if she wants or should help Mac. I must mention the Lighthouse also. Eva was told a story about the Lighthouse and it has ties to Mac’s past so she told him the story. Eva and Mac decide to be friends with benefits. Mac and Eva go through a lot of up’s and downs. To find out what happens you MUST read this awesome book!! This is a MUST read book!! I truly loved this book and can’t until the next book in this series comes out.

What a grand way to start a new series! Having lived in North Carolina for ten years and loved the Carolina beach towns in summer or winter,I was taken back to my past while reading this book. The characters were real, vibrant, a lot like ones I had met. Cinnamon Bay was a compilation of several towns I had visited. Their descriptions brought back vivid memories. After thirty-six years in the Midwest, I want to see the ocean and walk in the sand again.
The plot was quite good, with multiple layers weaving characters together. Eva was leery of romance due to abandonment issues. Mac was guilt-ridden, searching for news of his birth family while loving his adoptive family so much. Aunt Lizzie, the matchmakers, and Kolby and Craig were wonderful additions. But let’s not talk about Eva’s father!
This is a great sweet romance to read at the beach or if, sadly, you can’t make the trek. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader Copy of this book and the views expressed are my honest opinions.
4.5 beautiful stars!!
This is book one in the “Cinnamon Bay Romance” stand-alone series. This is Eva and Mac’s beautiful story.
First of all I want to say that it is crazy that this book has so many authors because never once did I feel the wording or the story alter. I would never guess more then one author wrote this book. So big props to you ladies!!
This book is a small town romance. I loved every single character in this book! I am super excited to see other stories from Cinnamon Bay. This is a perfect quick weekend read to give you just the right amount of feels.
Love on the Boardwalk gives you beauty, heart break, hope, humor, secrets, sexual tension and so much more. Oh and as of today it is FREE to download!!
“Love on the Boardwalk” is a delightful lighthearted contemporary romance set in the coastal town of Cinnamon Bay North Carolina. This is the first book in this new series and it is an enjoyable and entertaining read. Mac Jenssen is looking for his birth roots and Eva Halloway has inherited the town coffee shop from her grandmother. Both have personal issues to deal with and Eva has some major trust issues as far as relationships go. The dialogue is witty and the banter throughout the book is wonderful. The characters are multi-faceted and engaging and have wonderful chemistry. Absolutely loved the matchmaking antics of Hattie, Trixie and Birdie. They are a delightful addition to this story. I never like to go into specific plot details since writing is an author’s livelihood. This story is a winner. Loved the plot, the characters and the epilogue. I would recommend this book.
A fantastic, emotional, romantic book set in Cinnamon Bay, North Carolina. This book felt so complete. You have sexy, vulnerable characters fighting their own demons, three, older, eccentric matchmakers, a local favorite coffee shop, and the backdrop of the ocean. If that is not enough you can always try the Cafe Amour. Sign me up. I am ready to vacation in the fictitious place. This would be a great summertime beach read or anytime for that matter. I cannot wait to return to Cinnamon Bay in the rest of the series as it comes out. I loved the characters.
This is a delightful book with quirky characters and a gentle storyline. No angst, no heavy emotional scenes – just meddling matchmakers, a man looking for his biological roots, a woman terrified to let love in – and a drink that might have special powers. It’s a quick and fun read that leaves you smiling.
