I have to say that as soon as I heard that the main male protagonist was a pilot I was more than excited. Dorian Rae is a passionate, determined and incredibly kind human being. Not to mention a hot male in a uniform 😉 He is sweet and compassionate but also kinky. At times, he gets easily embarrassed but that makes him all that much sweeter. He is cheeky as seen by this quote:
*”You’re a handful.”
He winks at me. “In more ways than one.”*
But we should also take a look at the main female protagonist. Robin is a woman with a heavy burden to carry. She is determined to start her life fresh and reconnect with her family however many factors stand in her way. Some of out of her control like how the wider community treats her. This treatment is not unexpected but still moves you and I felt immense pity and sadness for her. Robin is hard on herself and punishes herself because of the guilt she carries every day. I was torn about my feelings towards her. Part of me was sympathetic because of the difficulties she was facing and the other part of me felt that she had brought that pain down upon herself through her actions.
Now these two characters have not one but multiple meetings that hint at Fate playing a role in their connection. Without realising it, the two protagonists were linked long before their physical meeting which highlights how our actions have a ripple effect with far reaching consequences that can impact on the lives of others we have never met.
The story elicits real and passionate emotions from the reader and, at times, takes you by surprise. Some of those strong feelings were brought to the surface while reading this and at one point, I was nearly close to flinging my iPad across the room and screaming bloody murder!
Ms. Rohman has an incredible talent of creating memorable characters which are unique and special. The characters are complex and face some trying times. You empathise with them and feel their pain as if they were your own. Many were wonderful individuals that warm your heart while others showed some dark sides to their personality. Ms. Rohman also has a way of incorporating some very real and sensitive issues that people face in these modern days and tackles them with delicacy and respect. This story examines forgiveness. It is a powerful concept but it is also difficult to gain especially from yourself. People often say that the first step in moving forward is learning to forgive yourself. It isn’t as easy as you think. Therefore, can Robin do that or will she allow her past to dictate her future? The story tests your ideas about what is right and how you judge a person without having the full story. Can you really know what they have experienced and what right do you have to judge them? I’m reminded of the phrase, people in glasshouses shouldn’t throw stones. If that was you, wouldn’t you want someone in your corner fighting for you? Or would you want the whole world turning their back on you because of your past? The story also shows how interconnected our lives can be and in a way it’s heart warming because in a digital driven world, connections with others reminds us that we aren’t so alone.
Ms. Rohman weaves love, romance, and humour into the story to balance the tough issues. There are some adorable sweet and tender moments and not to mention funny scenes to make you laugh. There are twists and tears but what more could you ask for? I thoroughly enjoyed being challenged and entertained with this special story.
WoW!!!!!!!! I have read everything this author has written to date and Love On High Steel Bridge has to be one of the best Rebecca has written.

If you enjoy a gripping emotional read one where the story gets flipped and events take a different turn this is the book for you.
This is Robin and Dorian’s story, a story of fate, heartbreak, forgiveness, family, friendship, lust and love.
Omg what did I just read, I’ll tell you, one hell of an amazing story that’s what. Rebecca wrote one hell of a story keeps you on the edge with every page turn. Each characters brings so much to the story you fall in love over and over again. Robin this amazomg strong woman brings this story to life, everything that happens to hear you really feel for her. Dorian ummm wow hes like the sweetest Alpha I have ever read about. Both characters really make this story shine. This ending will really blow your mind and make you crave for more, without giving to much away you will for sure fall head over heels in love with every word written. Really grabs you and makes you feel, grab tissues, tea and whatever else to give you comfort this story will make you have all the feels. AMAZING, GREAT so many things run through my head with this story. MUST READ!!!!
Robin is an ex-con, trying to move forward with her life after being released, but she’s learning there’s a stigma that comes with her past. She’s determined to start anew and reconnect with her family. As if the guilt doesn’t weigh her down enough, she has to carry the burden of other’s views on her as well. Even though she wasn’t knowingly a part of the crime, she can’t help but wish she’d made other choices, not to mention been able to stop what went down before it went so tragically wrong. She lost everything, but the victims lost their lives.
Dorian, a pilot, crosses paths with Robin more than once and is intrigued by the woman, not necessarily because of her history, but in spite of it. He knows she has more than paid for what happened, and, in some ways, is herself a victim. When he comes upon her the first time, it’s not far fetched to say he saved her life. She was prepared to end it all, the detour her life had taken too much to handle any longer. But Dorian convinced her to keep fighting, then couldn’t stop thinking about her after taking her to the hospital.
Robin is getting help, trying to let go and move on, and while she’s interested in Dorian, and flattered that he sees her, not the ex-con she is, but is worried how a relationship with her would impact her. Dorian though, doesn’t care and even goes against their wishes, refusing to stop seeing her because of their issues with it.
Both Dorian and Robin need to work through their own baggage, and maybe will each other’s help, they’ll be able to.
Can Robin heal from her past? Will Dorian take a chance despite his? Will the views of those he’s closest to take him away from her? Is a HEA possible?
One-click now and follow along as two people connect when one needs it most and discover a love that could heal both of them. On a side note, there were things that seemed unfinished and others that were mentioned and never delved in to as much as they should have been. I wish those things had been tied up or completed, or just left out all together, but all in all, this was an interesting read. I like that Dorian was ready to fight for Robin and what they could have, even if she was one of the people he had to fight against. – By Elizabeth
Rebecca Rohman has never dissapointed me. Her stories are always well written, deeply moving, humorous, and hard to put down. This is Robin and Dorian’ s story and it is a doozy.. I laughed and I cried. *Bad Rebecca*(you know where)….. It is also a nicely long novel, which I vastly prefer. Well done once again…
This book will take you from the lowest of lows to the highest of highs and everything in between!! From past mistakes and lots of regrets through the fight to overcome them and move on. I was pleasantly surprised to see characters from past books as well!
I have been waiting to read Robin’s story for awhile and I loved it!!!! Robin is a woman that has made some very bad choices in her life that landed her in jail. When she gets out she has a hard time adjusting.Dorian comes along and save her life and believes in her. It was well worth the wait!!!!!!
Love on High Steel Bridge was an amazing tale of a chance meeting between two people that fate has intertwined .
Robin doesn’t know how she got here to the bridge but she realizes she may have hit rock bottom or so it feels. Dorian just so happens to be in the right place at the right time. A chance meeting, a woman at her lowest point and a man that feels the pull to step in and save her.
The characters are beautifully written with so much depth and personality that you can’t help falling in love with them. I was pulled into their world and enthralled by the magnitude of the pain, sorrow and healing that was involved in their relationship . The road to forgiveness and love is long and oh so winding ! Loved it . So beautiful . Rebecca has once again wowed me with her story telling !

4.5 Fated Stars for the “feels” this one brought!
This author delivered an intense, heart wrenching & emotional tale that left me questioning the truth. Robin and Dorian come to us perfectly flawed and you see their individual growth and strengths throughout the book. I was excited to get Robin’s story and was pleased with how it was handed – realistically! I loved that we were able to visit with some of Love on the Pacific Shores characters, they are a tremendous group of family and friends.
One wrong decision can change your life, in many ways, forever. Robin and her life is proof of that.
That one chance meeting on High Steel Bridge will change Dorians life forever, in many ways, as well.
LOHSB is an amazing story of life changing situations.
Falling in love

The characters and storyline is AMAZING! I had to force myself to put my phone down and adult many times! I wanted to keep turning pages to know what happened next. You will be all consumed and even have a shock or two. I loved it ALL! Highly recommend!! P.s. I love GiGi!!
” Dorian this is so much better than any date at a fancy restaurant. I love this”
” Good. Because this is all me, this is my life and I love being able to share it. The skies are beautiful but it can also be a very lonely place sometimes.”
Rebecca Rohman is one of those authors that I will read blind and that is exactly what I did with Love on High Steel Bridge. Well color me surprised to see that it featured a character from one of her earlier titles that I wasn’t a fan of. At all. Nevertheless, that opening sequence sucked me right in and had me flying through the pages.
Robin had made a lot of mistakes. Mistakes that cost a lot of people a world of hurt. But she suffered too. There wasn’t a day that passed where she didn’t hold on to the guilt of her choices and their consequences. Which is how she came to meet Dorian. It was quite the unconventional first run-in. There was something about Dorian that just drew me in. Yes, he was charismatic and handsome and successful but I think it was his kindness that kept me rooting for him.
Dorian fell fast and hard for Robin. I loved how he accepted her for who she was and who she wasn’t. How he helped her embrace and accept that her flaws and mistakes didn’t define her. His compassion baffled her and rattled some other relationships he had in his life. And while she was slowly letting her walls down and guilt go, there was a budding danger that they just couldn’t pinpoint.
The intensity was building gradually throughout but that final chunk of this book was high octane. And a little gory but not overly so. My heart was pumping and I was reading as fast as I could to see what would happen and who was behind everything. I had my theories, but as usual I was wrong.
The most shining moment was how Robin stepped up and faced her past and the danger threatening her future in one swoop. I didn’t think it could be done but Rebecca Rohman proved me wrong by redeeming Robin. Full of fear, guilt, anger, resentment, hope, resilience, forgiveness, romance and grace, Love on High Steel Bridge pulled me through just about every emotion. Robin’s journey into the next phase of her life was hard fought but it made her triumph all the sweeter.
Can you ever atone for the mistakes in your past? Robin Drake found herself caught up in a horrible medical fraud situation with unbelievable consequences. Even as an accessory, she found herself in prison for 7 years while she also lost her license to practice medicine. Now, being back in society, she is struggling to rebuild a life where people choose to believe the worst first. At her lowest point, she meets an amazing man, Dorian Rae, who gave her a glimmer of hope that any challenge can be overcome. Dorian can’t get the beautiful woman he helped out of his mind, when she ends up as his tenant, well, it seems fate has plans for them. Robin is reluctant to have a relationship but she does need to friends so Dorian becomes her friend. As they get to know each other, they had no idea what other ways their pasts will ultimately cross. I don’t want to give away any of the amazing moments in this journey. Robin pulled me in from the beginning. I felt every emotional moment of her struggle to find her footing and place back in society. Yes, she made a huge mistake but she paid her dues and deserved another chance but that isn’t always easy to find. Dorian is an accomplished and confident pilot. He had a bad relationship in his past but found something in Robin that connected with who he is deep down. I was drawn in and struggled to put this story down, needing to know how all the twists and turns would resolve. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
