True love is in the details for the Jersey shore’s premier wedding planner in this heart-swooning series about big dreams and happy endings from New York Times bestselling author Jennifer Probst.
Avery Sunshine might not have a soul mate of her own, but she still believes in happily ever after—for her clients. Making dreams come true is her business at Sunshine Bridal, which she runs with her … Bridal, which she runs with her two sisters. When her best friend announces her engagement, Avery is thrilled to take charge of the giddy bride-to-be’s big day. Less thrilling? Her best friend’s arrogant and demanding brother, who just so happens to be the man of honor.
Carter Ross’s first instinct: call 911. He promised to always take care of his impulsive little sister, and he honors that vow. Even if it means taking over her wedding, where he is sure Avery will fail. At best, Avery is unpredictable. At worst, if she’s anything like the spitfire of a college girl he remembers, the main event could run wild.
With Avery and Carter wrestling for control, tempers heat up. So does the spark of attraction they’re fighting with every kiss. As the wedding draws near, it’s time to reconcile a rocky past and make a decision that could change everyone’s lives. Because what they’re rebelling against looks a lot like love.

I couldn’t get enough of Love on Beach Avenue. This is such a sweet read. You will just fall in love with the Sunshine Sisters. This is book one and I’m already hooked. Avery is the oldest of the Sunshine Sisters and took over the family business. She believes in love and marriage and can handle any wedding related problems that pop up. Then you get Carter. He is anti love and marriage. He doesn’t believe he is worthy of settling down. Even though his relationship with Lucy (his dog) may point to a more carrying side of him. I love Carter and Avery’s banter as they go toe to toe to make his sister’s wedding one of her dreams. Yes this is a best friends brother romance that you will just love. The chemistry between Avery and Carter is fantastic. I love the fight between them and watching Avery slowly break down the walls of both Carter and Lucy. This one made my heart so happy. I can’t wait to dive into more Sunshine Sisters to come.
Jennifer Probst does it again! Love on Beach Avenue is another hit for the queen of romance . With great characters and an even better story you’ll fall in love with Avery & Carter. The sibling connection between Ally & Carter and Avery & her sisters is real, raw & emotional. And Lucy, just makes you sigh awwww! Not just a great beach read, but a great anytime read.
This book is so good. Carter and Avery cracked me up. They were constantly going back and forth with one another. Can they get along for the sake of his sister, her best friend? Have to read this book to find out. I love this book. This was a first for reading one of Jennifer Probst book and I am hooked. I totally recommend reading this book. You definitely won’t be disappointed. There are times she was a hot mess. And he was stubborn at times. I can’t wait to read more of her books.
This was the first book I’ve read by this author. I will definitely read more . The writing style quickly drew you into the storyline and the characters were well defined with really interesting supporting characters. The two main protagonists Avery and Carter meet up after years. Carter is the elder brother of Avery best friend Abby.
Avery runs a wedding agency with her sister’s Taylor and Bella , her assistant Gabe and their photographer pierce. Abby has decided to plan a hasty wedding and wants Avery to be her wedding planner.
Carter is spending the summer with his sister at the small beach town where Avery and her family live.
Carter and Avery have an antagonistic relationship based on past misdemeanors. They both have preconceived notions about the other. Their interactions are humorous and things seem to happen to Avery that put her at a disadvantage .
The attraction between the two is mutual but both fight their feelings. It’s a will they won’t they scenario.
I really enjoyed this book and thoroughly recommend it I will definitely read the next book in the series.
I received a copy of the book from #Netgalley and voluntarily leave this review. All thoughts are my own and unbiased.
Love On Beach Avenue
The Sunshine Sisters Book 1
Jennifer Probst
Oohhh what a great start for a new series.., The Sunshine Sisters own and run Sunshine Bridal, a very well loved and successful wedding planning company. Started by their parent’s, Avery, Bella and Taylor are smart, funny and so very good at their jobs. Not much fazes them, a nervous bride, monster mother of the bride, crazy exes… these girls and their assistant, Gabe can take in and conquer all of it!
Avery is the number one woman, she’s all business. But when her childhood best friend, Ally contacts her and wants to hire her for her upcoming wedding (in just 3 months), she not only jumps at the chance but is about to come face to face with one maid of honour who drives her crazy, has more opinions then any bride and well, makes her fall in love.
Ally Ross and her older brother, Carter are returning to Cape May to arrange her upcoming wedding, but it’s meeting back up with childhood friend, Avery Sunshine who will make to big day perfect. “Helping” Ally choose all facets of her upcoming wedding, just makes wedding planner Avery mad, like stark raving mad. Carter presses all of her buttons and this just makes Carter want to help more, with some ulterior motives. Although Avery wants to to hate Carter, she can’t help the flitter low in her belly, for a man who would bet on, pay for and for anything for his little sister.
Like those car trips when you were a kid and your parents telling you just over the next hill, Love On Beach Avenue will have you thinking “ahhhhh now is the time” then nope just one more hill… Avery and Carter have an interesting relationship, first displeasure, then downright hate before likes and loves arrive. Starting with a slow burn, this book takes a while to hit top gear, but it’s definitely worth the ride, leaving you gasping, laughing and love in your eyes.
I cried when I read the Author’s Note from “Love on Beach Avenue”, because I have also dreamed about spending time by the beach listening to the waves, breathing in the salt air and relaxing in contentment. I can see why Jennifer Probst always wanted to write a series based on a beautiful seaside town. Even when Avery Sunshine was wrapped up in wedding plans and nervous brides, all she had to do was step out her front door, gaze at the blue sky, smell the fragrant flowers, and she could begin to relax.
I admire the closeness Avery has with her sisters, who all bring their own unique style to Sunshine Bridals. Avery gets a bit teary eyed at all of her weddings because it makes her wonder if she will ever meet a man who will sweep her off her feet. Avery’s days are consumed with work which leaves her very little time to relax and enjoy her life by the beach. When confronted with the imposing, older brother of her best friend Ally, she knew that he would become a thorn in her side while she planned his sister’s wedding. Carter was a stiff task-master who insisted on being involved with every detail of the wedding preparations. Avery was insulted by his pushy behavior, condescending attitude and smug grins. Unfortunately, she did find him handsome and sexy in a nerdy, bookish kind of way, and she needed a plan on how to handle him. Carter raised his sister and had never believed in true or everlasting love, and of course he was happy for her, but marriage wasn’t for him. Carter was impressed with Avery’s work ethic and business acumen. He couldn’t deny his attraction to Avery or how she made him laugh for the first time in a long time. If he was a different man without a past or demons that haunted him, would she be the woman for him?
What’s not to love about this book. You have love, sun, fun & family. Love on Beach Avenue is just what everyone needs.
We meet the Sunshine Sisters from Cape May, they run a very successful wedding planning business and a last minute wedding of Avery’s best friend might just change not only her life but Avery’s too.
Avery meets the Man of Honor also known as Ally’s brother and memories of him from years ago don’t leave the best impression but even today he’s the biggest PITA to her, but spending time with him shows her there are many layers to this man and he might just be someone she can connect with on a different level.
Carter Ross is a man set in his ways, doesn’t believe in love and marriage but when it comes to his sister Love has no bound. When Carter meets Avery again after many years he just can’t help himself to get under her skin and making bets might just be a way to get in even further.
You will watch the emotional struggles they will go through together from her showing him there is much more to life then what you think and you will see him have that lightbulb moment when it all comes together.
Watching this couple throughout their story will have you cheering them on from the sidelines and knowing if they find that happy ever after it will leave you with a smile on your face.
Love on Beach Avenue is a fun, lighthearted read that will make you smile. The banter & sexual tension between the main characters Avery & Carter is refreshing, hot without being crude. I adore Jennifer Probst and have read every one of her books, she is my one-click guilty pleasure. This series is going to be excellent like her Searching for & Marriage Series. Great job!
I always enjoy readIng Jennifer Probst’s books. This is the first book in this new series. The characters are funny, caring, strong and enjoyable to read. There may be one or two characters that you would love to hate but in the end, you end up loving, LOL. As always, Jennifer does not disappoint! Can’t wait for the next book in this series
Loved this first book in this new Jennifer Probst series! Her books are always such a draw for me because I love the way she blends all the best ingredients that I look for in a contemporary romance, humor, emotion and passion to name a few, and comes up with the most wonderful characters and stories. I love Avery and Carter and their story! They don’t exactly start off on the best foot but during the time they spend together planning his sister Ally’s (also Avery’s best friend) wedding, they find they might just be perfect together. I loved watching their relationship develop and especially seeing Carter grow and change his thought process about relationships with Avery’s help and realize they just need to stay out of the past and be present to what is happening between them now. As always humor is injected into the story at just the right times. I absolutely adore Lucy, Carter’s little pooch, (and his relationship with her is too sweet) and Zoe, Bella’s little girl, who is an absolute doll. Pretty swoony man, that Carter, awfully hard for Avery to resist. Love their story! Can’t wait for Avery’s sisters, Bella and Taylor to get their HEA too!
4.5 Stars!
I love stories that take place near where I grew up. Although I am no longer a “Jersey Girl,” the shore will always hold a sacred place in my heart. Cape May is a quaint small town, located at the southern tip of New Jersey. Love on Beach Avenue by Jennifer Probst takes place on the cape, and her references to all things beachy left me smiling from ear to ear. Not to mention the summer sunshine, interesting characters, and laughable crabby balls.
Thanks to their parents, Avery Sunshine and her two sisters own a very successful event planning business. As the oldest, Avery tends to be in charge. Although she loves her work, she has very little time to seek out her own wedded bliss. When her best friend from college asks her to plan her wedding, Avery excitedly agrees. However, with the wedding date being only a few months away during their busiest season, Avery will have to work more than humanly possible in order to ensure that all her brides have the perfect day. Furthermore, Carter Ross, the bride-to-be’s extremely obnoxious and controlling older brother, intends to be very involved in the event planning. Carter was a thorn in Avery’s side way back when and now he is in her life for the duration. Carter is a legal computer hacker, and has built up enough vacation time to spend his summer helping to plan his younger sister’s wedding. Avery is beside herself with the prospect of working with Carter, however, the sexual tension that begins to develop cannot be denied.
I truly enjoyed this book. Besides the best friend’s older brother trope, there is a dog that thinks she’s a diva, a cute five-year-old niece and the potential for a couple of new romances. I look forward to the secondary characters finding their own happily-ever-afters. When Avery and Carter finally get together, their sexy times are quite steamy. This is the first book form The Sunshine Sisters series and it can be enjoyed as a standalone.
So, I preordered this book back in September or whenever it became available for preorder. And then it was available in the Amazon Prime First Reads, so naturally, I scooped it up and true to form—I read it. Way. Too. Fast. And now I’m wishing I would have read it slower, because even though I will still get this beautiful paperback when it releases, I have to wait all summer for a new Jennifer Probst book!
Love on Beach Avenue is a fun, flirty romance with the expected fun relationships between friends and sisters, too, and all the expected steam between Avery and Carter. I love stories about weddings, and this one ticked all the boxes on that front, too!
It doesn’t matter what world Jennifer Probst writes in, I always feel like I’m going home when I step into her books. Looking forward to wherever she decides to take us readers next, because I would follow her anywhere!
A fun read! This book is about Avery. We find out if Avery can plan a wedding fast. But when her friends brother is around, she may be a bit distracted. I’m a huge fan of Jennifer Probst and this book is highly recommended.
Thank you to Net Galley for the free advanced copy of this book in exchange for my review.
This book is exactly what we all need right now – true honest love, acceptance and finding comfort out of your comfort zone. Carter never understood or cared for marriage and love, but when his sister Ally uses Avery as her wedding planner things start to change. On the other hand Avery thinks of carter as being pig-headed and bossy. But once she sees “Robot-man” in a different light the two find themselves in a deeper connection. Will Carter finally admit he has fallen in love or wil he once again fall back on his old thoughts? Can Avery get him past the baggage he carries to find his HEA? With absolutely adorable characters – including Carter’s dog Lucy as well as Avery’s sisters – and a storyline that gives the reader warm fuzzies this was a wonderful beginning to what I think is going to be another great series.
A delightful start to a new series about the Sunshine Sister, Avery, Bella and Taylor. Avery is the oldest and in charge of running the family Wedding Planning business. When her college BFF Ally calls to let her know she is getting married, she insists that she will be the wedding planner. Carter Ross is Ally’s brother and Man of Honor for the wedding. He became Ally’s guardian when their parents died, when he was 19 and Ally was 10. He and Avery had an antagonist relationship because he didn’t like the shenanigans that she and his sister got into in college. While it has been about eight years, Carter still thinks Avery is the same irresponsible kid and treats her like she is going to screw up. This is the set up of a fun enemies to lovers romance. Really likable characters and a great development of their relationship. I will definitely be reading the next book in the series. I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley for my honest review.
This is the start to another feel-good, light-hearted series by Jennifer Probst. I just loved the characters and their personalities. This is a great beach read. Add this one to your summer TBR list. I can’t wait for the next in the series.
Thank you #netgalley and #montlake romance for the eARC.
I have read many of this authors books, so I was very excited when the ARC of this book came up for review. I liked the premise of the book, Avery and Ally are best friends, and because Avery runs a Wedding Planning business, Ally can’t think of a better person to plan her wedding for her. Carter, Ally’s brother, has raised her since their parents died when they were younger, so Ally is thrilled when Carter agrees to take the summer off to spend time with her in Cape May while she plans her wedding. I think I’m too much like Avery when it comes to her workplace and controlling the environment, especially when it comes to an occupation like wedding planning. When Carter starts pushing his way in on Avery’s planning, I actually got a bit irritated at him, it got to the point where you just wanted to throttle him because he was so pushy and arrogant. When the two do hook up, it was a bit awkward because neither one of them really liked each other, it was more of a anger hotness thing instead of a growing to like the person thing. It took me until there was about 25% of the book left before it started to pick up for me, then things got interesting. Lucy was a bit of a PITA, I mean I get it, she was abused and overly protective of Carter, but it was a bit too much the way she continually reacted to Avery. There were a lot of LOL moments in the book, which saved it for me, and Gabe was pretty funny, and Zoe was adorable. Looking forward to see what Bella and Gabe’s story looks like. Overall, book was pretty good, but would like to see some changes in the second installment.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book.
Avery has been giving happily ever after to couples for several years. She and her sisters took over their parents wedding planning business. Avery can’t wait to find the man of her dreams but it’s hard when all she does is work. Carter is a computer hacker and has just found out his baby sister is getting married. He raised her after their parents died so he wants the best for her. When she wants a destination wedding and wants her best friend to plan it and as the man of honor, he plans to help with everything. Avery and Carter butt heads especially when they are left to plan everything. Can they pull off the best wedding without killing each other?
A new series by Jennifer Probst that will have you laughing and crying. I’ll be honest, I did not care for Carter at first and was hoping Avery strangled him. I cannot wait to see what happens with the rest of the sisters.
* Voluntarily read and reviewed this for Netgalley *
I absolutely loved Love on Beach Avenue by Jennifer Probst, it is an incredible love story, and is the first book in her Sunshine Sisters series. Love on Beach Avenue is the first book that I have read by Jennifer Probst and I really enjoyed. I am looking to reading other books that she has written. Love on Beach Avenue is a wonderfully written story. Jennifer Probst has shown that she is an amazing storyteller. I could not put it down and loved every page. I really enjoy how the book is told from the perspective of the main characters. I love getting the insight and feelings from the different characters. Love on Beach Avenue is wonderful love story and is filled with heartbreaking and heartwarming moments. I love the lighter moments where I find myself smiling and laughing out loud and the bittersweet moments that cause me to sigh, say aww to myself with tears filling my eyes. Love on Beach Avenue is filled with such moments, and so much more. It is filled with all those things that we have come to love and expect in a love story, especially the poignant and bittersweet moments that filled this page turner. Love on Beach Avenue is the story of Avery Caldwell, wedding planner for Sunshine Bridal with her sisters Bella and Taylor and Carter Ross, hacker and the man of honor for his sister Ally’s wedding. Avery is the best friend from college of Carter’s sister, Ally. Carter has been Ally’s guardian since she was ten years-old. Ally just got engaged and Avery has agreed to handle the plans for her beach wedding. Carter was not a fan of Avery when she and Ally were partners in crime in college and his opinion did not change much after seeing her again for the first time. The feelings were mutual as far as Avery was concerned, she did not appreciate Carter or his judgmental ways in college or now. Carter plans to spend the summer in Cape May with Ally, to help her plan her wedding. As Avery and Carter work together on plans for Ally’s beach weddings things between them change. As they spend more time together, they share secrets that they haven’t shared with anyone before, and realize they may have something more. Carter tells Avery that he does not believe in love and a happily ever after, which is the complete opposite of Avery’s beliefs and career. When Carter returns to DC after the summer, it puts distance between them. I love that both Carter and Avery were both so vulnerable and that Carter realized that his father’s faults did not have to be his. I love that Carter changed because of Avery’s love for him. In order to prove his love for Avery, Carter realizes that he has to do something big to win her back and I loved his grand gesture! I love Carter’s relationship with Zoe and all that he does for her. I loved that Love on Beach Avenue is a more than just a romance, there are dilemmas that both Avery and Carter are facing that need to be resolved, Carter’s issues with his father’s death and not believing in love and a happily ever after. I love the characters and the family dynamic in Love on Beach Avenue, the characters feel like family and friends. I enjoy all the interactions among the Sunshine sisters and the Gabe, it feels like real family love and makes me laugh at their teasing. I love all the descriptions of the Cape May setting that Jennifer Probst details, it makes me want to visit. I love the quote from a letter Ally had from her late mother that she wanted included in the wedding and how she used that quote on Carter to make him realize that Avery was worth the risk. My favorite part of the book is the epilogue, I truly love how it goes above and beyond the happily ever after. Love on Beach Avenue is filled with the poignant and bittersweet moments in the story as well as the plot twists, that I love in my favorite love stories. I love the cast of characters in Love on Beach Avenue and loved catching up with Avery and Carter. Who doesn’t love family and friends that always have each other’s backs? I thoroughly enjoyed Love on Beach Avenue, who doesn’t love a beautifully written love story? Cannot wait to read the other books in the series. Highly recommend Love on Beach Avenue.
This one was a miss for me. I am never a huge opposites attract fan but often I get past it because the characters find some commonality. I couldn’t here. Avery seemed to me to be an awful business woman who immediately was in competition with Carter over everything. Carter was an insufferable boor and I didn’t like him enough to see him redeem himself. I couldn’t finish this one and that killed me because I have really liked everything I’ve ready by this author. Gave it two starts because Cape May sounds gorgeous and who doesn’t love the beach?! I’ll try the next in the series.
