Never say never. Especially not to a determined bad boy.
Zander Minelli is exactly the wrong kind of man. He’s dark, dangerous, and knows far too much about sawed-off shotguns.
Faith Davidson finds him irresistible. The widowed single mother knows she should dip her toe back in the dating pool with someone solid and dependable. Definitely no tattoos. But every time she looks up, the brooding … she looks up, the brooding soldier is watching her, and she can’t help but wonder what it would be like to let herself have a taste…
Small town summer nights have never been hotter—and one transplanted city-girl’s heart has never been more fragile.

Each book in this series seems to be better than the last. They are all good, but they just keep getting better. I was a little skeptical of a Zander centered book. After all, he’s the one
Minelli brother who’s never around and he prefers it that way. I just wasn’t sure if I’d make a connection with him like I had the rest of the family. Silly me! I should’ve known better.
Zander has decided it’s time to end his military career after twenty years of service. He’s ready for a new adventure. He just can’t quite decide on what that adventure should be. He never dreamed it would be the adventure he actually got.
Faith Davidson’s husband died several years ago leaving her with their one-year-old son to raise alone. After he died, she launched her writing career and life is pretty good. She is still paranoid over the safety of her son and everyone else she loves, but that’s pretty normal. She tried to control it. One of the best ways to control things is to keep herself insulated from anyone but her son and her mother. That’s all the family she needs. Then one night she meets Zander Minelli and suddenly life throws her a curveball she didn’t see coming.
This is a sweet, fun romance that is perfect for a summer read.
Faith and Zander’s story is sweet and hot. Learning to truly live again after losing her husband was not in Faith’s plan. Zander comes along and proves himself as trustworthy and dependable with just enough danger to bring out Faith’s dormant wild child.
Chance meeting between a single mother/writer and a Canadian soldier. A warm and sexy romance, with complications from the past. Friendship, family and love. Building relationships and communication. A fun book to read. Bravo!!
I received a free copy of this book via BookFunnel and am voluntarily leaving a review.
A beautiful swoonworthy love story between a single mom and a soldier!
Loved the story. Only didn’t like how long it took for faith to catch up to the plan lol. I understand her reticence but you can’t hide from life forever. It was like she was trying to push Zander away. I liked that he kept at everything with the calls and video chats. His relationship with Eric was adorable and I loved it almost as much just for the swoon factor. Zander is bad ass, soldier, motorcycle riding book fight scene choreographer that really fell hard for faith and Eric. They made the cutest little family. And how he was when Eric went on his ‘adventure’ wow. That’s a dad reaction right there loved the book. Can’t wait for dean and Sean’s book.
Great
Zander was finally taking the leap and retiring from the military, so 6 months before he took leave to bring his motorcycle home, he makes a quick stop at Greta ‘s for pie, he is going to open a security business. Faith goes to Greta’s for some writing time and pie. That is where they meet and start of a great relationship.
This was a great book with interesting story and some nice steamy scenes too. I enjoyed it and found it thanks be very enjoyable read
An amazing love story that will capture your heart! Xander, Faith, and Eric become that wonderful family everyone wishes for in this beautifully written book that will not disappoint!!! A must read!
Very very good. Faith is a widow not interested in dating until she meets Zander and all that changed. Zander wasn’t interested in getting married until he meets Faith. Wonderful story with wonderful characters. A standalone with a HEA!!!
Oh I loved this couple! Zander and Faith had me “aww” from the moment they saw each other, and it never let up through their whole story! While Faith had her carefree life wiped away, Zander is coming up fast on life decisions. Faith has played it safe to protect herself, Zander made a decision decades ago, and hasn’t had to make a lot of choices since then. Then they meet, and my heart skipped a beat along with theirs.
With all the things they had to figure out, all the fights Faith needed to win with herself, all the re-thinking that Zander needed to do, they never denied their attraction. The feelings flowed, whether they wanted them, or they were on the wrong timeline, they were there, and you ached with them. They cheered for them, you cried and raged with them. And you couldn’t help but fall in love with them
I love this author! Her books never disappoint!
When I see a book by this author, I can’t wait to buy it because I know it is going to be good!
Love Zoe York and this series. The characters are wonderful and you can relate to each one.
This is an easy read with a typical trope of the confirmed bachelor and the damaged widow. I really liked Zander a lot. Faith took some getting used to. I honestly thought her character lacked depth and I think it was because the backstory between her and her late husband was not fleshed out fully. Ok your husband die on a motorcycle so now you fear everything? Swings, ice skates. It was a little over the top I thought. Again not a bad book. I wouldn’t not recommend it, it just wouldn’t be the first one to come to mind if someone was looking for a quick read.
Great way to showcase both military and moving on from tragedy.
Great family story from Canada. A novel writer and a soldier team-steam up the pages of the story within the story. Just enough drama to keep everything perfect for the reader.
Loved this book great writer
Really enjoying the whole series about the Minnelli family.
I just finished this today. Although this was predictable, I enjoyed it thoroughly.
Easy enjoyable read!
