Welcome back to Pine Harbour…
Single father and widower Ryan Howard has zero interest in the movie being filmed in Pine Harbour or the high maintenance stars staying in the cottages at the end of his lane. He’s just barely holding on to the raw remains of his life and the fantasy world being concocted around him is, as far as he’s concerned, a complete waste of time and energy. The one bright … energy. The one bright light in his life is an intern on the set, and their quiet conversations at the end of the day on his back porch.
Hope Creswell hates her life, too, which is entirely unfair because she’s blessed beyond measure. She’s at the top of her acting career, a Hollywood A-list star, and surrounded by people that mean well. But Ryan makes her laugh, and cry, and before she can explain her double life, he kisses her.
Book #3 in the acclaimed Pine Harbour series by NYT and USA Today bestselling author Zoe York.

Each book in this series seems to be better than the last. They are all good, but they just keep getting better. Love on a Spring Morning is an opposites attract type of story. It’s a story of forgiveness, especially of the past, and moving on, readjusting, and realizing that compromise is usually best for everyone.
Ryan Howard’s life was turned upside down when his wife was murdered. Now he’s a stay-at-home dad with his kids as his sole focus in life. He doesn’t have room for anything or anyone else and absolutely no desire for anything or anyone else. Well, maybe that’s not quite true, but he’s not about to give in to his selfish wants. He needs to remain focused on his kids and giving them a stable and loving environment free of drama. They’ve all had enough drama to last a lifetime.
Hope Creswell is the star in a movie that’s being filmed in Pine Harbour and she’s more than ready to escape LA. She has the opportunity to arrive in Pine Harbour a few days ahead of everyone else and jumps at the chance for some downtime and just being herself. She dreams of being just Holly Cresenski, that’s who she really is and she misses her sometimes. Lately, she misses Holly a lot. Quite by chance, Holly meets Ryan on her first night in town. He’s the manager of the cottages where the whole cast and crew are staying. Eventually, sparks start to fly and confusion reigns.
There aren’t really any unexpected turns of events here, but it’s a fun and entertaining read. And those kids…….
I just finished this book and was happy with the ending. The story kept me entertained as much as an unrealistic story can. He was lucky she kept coming back for him. A good book for a break of highly tension filled books that I was reading. It’s nice to take a break from books that the tension is high and almost too real. It was written nice, moved along at a pace so you didn’t get too bored and could actually seeing people in love doing these things.
Too much sex.
Excellent read.
Did not care for too many sex scenes. Hero was over the top with his grief of losing his first wife making it hard to believe the heroine would give him a chance.
“Love on a Spring Morning” is a light read perfect for those who have suffered heart ache due to an unrelenting love. The main characters both have issues to deal with. One, an up-and-coming actress whose personal life is a challenge due to her notoriety, and the newly widower father of three young children who is still grieving his loss and feels guilty for wanting someone else. They both want to do the right thing for each other and for his children. I won’t tell you how it ends, but predictability wins out!
It is long. Initially long in getting tot he point. Then sex starts and I did not know you could take 3 pages to describe 1 time. Then do that several more times before story ends. I’m all for sexy but the story started to really drag out.
Great read.
This one is not one of the author’s best. It is slow going.
Enjoyable read!
This book was a great light read. The characters were well developed and real as was the romance.
I really enjoyed reading this book! I loved the unpredictability in the plot! Great characters, and a happy ever after read!
Thoughtful and emotional journey for two people that are very lonely. Loved this story and all characters. You find yourself living the small town and support of neighbors.
I probably will not read any more of this author’s books. Too many steamy parts and the “f” word. It’s too bad, because I thought the story line was great.
Ryan and Holly ate very believable and it was great to read a sort of reverse plot play. Usually a lovely lady falls for a billionaire but here the lovely lady makes big money and falls for a single dad. A truly enjoyable and believable read. Would make a great video series.
Beautiful love story. Sometimes you wanted to just slap Ryan but you also had to understand how be felt. Didn’t like how they never really explained how Lynn was killed. Was a great love story….. didn’t need the unnecessary use of F- word and very explicit sex but still a great love story. Holly was AMAZING!!! A great standalone with a HEA!!!!
I’ve read the first four in this series. Enjoyable easy read.
Starting Over
Ryan & the kids lost Lynn in a shooting and are trying to find their way. Hope\Holly is in Pine Harbour to do the film. He doesn’t realize she is a actress when she runs by his house. Is this a 2nd chance for Ryan and the kids, and something real for Hope\Holly.
I enjoyed reading Ryan’s story, it was so nice for him to find some happiness after all the tragedy. There is a lot of tension in this book, lots of sexual tension but there are also a few laughs and just a few tears. The kids are great and add life to Ryan and Maya is just too cute for words. This is a great instalment in the Pine Harbour series.
Ooh, this was a great book! Love me some Zoe York, and this was no exception. Fantastic characters in the excellent Pine Harbour series, and it is so refreshing to read characters that are so realistic (but with just a hint of romanticism and whimsy!). LOVED it.
