Augie has been in love with his straight best friend for years. But what happens when they fake date and he discovers that Ambrose has similar feelings and isn’t as straight as he assumed?
Ambrose O’Rourke
Being friends with Augie has taught me a lot about myself, including the fact that I’m not nearly as straight as I suspected. He awakens something deep inside of me that yearns for more than … of me that yearns for more than just his friendship—I want his love. But he dismisses my shameless flirting as nothing more than a joke. Clearly, if I’m going to win his heart, I’ll have to get creative.
Fortunately, a golden opportunity presents itself for us to pretend to date each other, which is the perfect chance I need. He thinks it’s something fun we’ll laugh about later, but my goal is to show him that I’m such an awesome fake boyfriend that he’ll want me to keep me as his real one. Sure, it could go spectacularly wrong. But it might work out perfectly, right?
Augie Murphy
Ambrose knows everything about me except for two very important secrets: I’m bisexual and madly in love with him. I was doing fine until my straight best friend decides to turn his charm factor up to blinding while flirting with me like he actually wants me to respond to his heated teasing. How am I supposed to resist as it becomes harder not calling his bluff and kissing him until he falls in love with me for real? But since he thinks I’m as straight as him, I can’t risk doing something so stupid, no matter how hot it would be.
I’m finally pushed to my breaking point when he concocts an absurd plan for us to pretend to be bisexual boyfriends looking to hook up with women as a way to spice up our relationship. I should say no, but it’s too much temptation to resist when it’s the closest I’ll ever get to dating him for real. Even if we’re pretending for only one night, I need to know what it’s like to be loved by him.
The boundaries of our friendship quickly start to blur as we act out my dream life. Do I dare hope that this bad idea might turn my fake boyfriend for a night into my real one forever?

I really loved this story with Augie and Ambrose. I loved that this story was so sweet with just the tiniest bit of angst. Things between these two have been building for a long time so when they finally open their eyes and see what’s in front of them it is so satisfying. This book touches on the very real topic of being shunned by your family for being gay. It is so sad that so many people feel that way. This was a great romance! You will fall in love with these two sweeties. I think Ambrose is just so romantic, which is kind of funny considering what a player he used to be. Augie’s love helped him to be his true self. I’m excited to see what will happen with Callum, who is Ambrose’s brother.
this is book 2 in the series.but could be read as a standalone! This is another BFF to lovers story and is a good read with little angst and drama. Augie and Ambrose are a sweet romantic read.
Love Means More is the second book in the A Bad Good Idea series by author A.F. Zoelle. This story had some good ideas. But I found the story telling to be one dimensional. Lots of telling and now showing which made this a hard story to read. This story is told in dual POV. Which helps it some.
Ambrose only person he cannot seduce is the one man he really wants. He really has a great friendship with Auggie and doesn’t want to mess that up.
August or Auggie, he finds Ambrose handsome and irresistible. And he is off limits. They are best friends. When he needs a fake boyfriend, Ambrose suggests they be more than just friends.
I liked this story it was good. I just felt it was told rather than shown to me. There are some cute funny moments. I did not read the first book in this series and I was not lost. Overall an okay story.
Three Red Stars
First I just want to say I love this series, they leave me feeling so warm and happy all through the stories. I just want to say thank for creating such wonderfully stories that are full of love and wonderful friendship. I can’t wait for more.
I love how Ambrose is true with his feelings even though he may not voice them out loud to August, and when he tries to let August know how he feels August thinks he is still being a playboy even though he is not and can’t trust him even when his feelings are there along with Ambrose. When they finally are together it’s such a wonderful relationship I loved reading how they grew and realigned their relationship it is awesome.
I most definitely recommend this book!!!!
This is not a slow burn, even though these fellas have been best friends for a long time. The years of pining are talked about, but we begin when those days have the potential to be over. Ambrose came up with a new way to ‘fake it ‘til ya make it’ in order to see where the night goes. Now he just needs to get August on board.
This was a fun, fairly quick read. It’s the second in a series, and can be read alone, but there are some spoilers for book one. If that bothers you, then I would recommend starting the series in order. There are no cliffhangers, but the books overlap each other.
The writing was consistent throughout, so it was an easy read. I enjoyed Ambrose and August’s characters, and I found them to be well written. The banter between them was easy and full of wit and humor. Which is testament to how long they’ve known each other. It was because of that history that the story didn’t feel rushed. On the other hand, getting to hear their inner dialogue, along with outward conversations, we learned about their past. It made it feel genuine.
I’m drawn to fluffy romances with only a little angst, and this fit the bill to a T. The fact that it also had a bi awakening storyline was a bonus for me. I really enjoyed this story, and highly recommend it.

As a hard-core reader, I can honestly say I read a lot. But sometimes you found books so difficult to read, or so sad, or with a lot of triggers, in summary a book so intense that left you as an emotional wreck… So, when I first read the first book on this series, I discovered that the book simply put… made me happy… really. So I started reading and re reading it as a comfort book, I mean a book you can read when you feel bad after reading a difficult book or because the times we are living and that helps you to recover quickly your emotional health. Saying this when I received book 2 as an ARC I jumped to the opportunity and immediately read it… and read it… and read it. The book is amazing… The friends to lovers story of Ambrose and August is sweet and endearing, full of romantic dialogues, situations and hot scenes. You can read it knowing that even the low, low angst in the story is going to make you feel good. I have now another fantastic comfort book. Thank you, Ms Zoelle. I can’t wait to read book 3!
This is a fun and fast read. I liked it a lot more than the first book. August and Ambrose are really cute together.
Best friends to lovers are always special. They have been friends for a long time and they both having feelings for each other but are too scared to confess.
I really liked the second characters, especially both of their brothers. If you’re looking for a light hearted romance and a quick read, then pick this up! The sex scenes were hot but also funny! That alphabet game really made me laugh!!

I liked this book about Ambrose and August. Two best friends are in love with each and essentially neither of them know of each others feelings. Ambrose figures out a way to talking August into being close to him by pretending to be boyfriends. The two of them are actually very sweet. The scenes in the book are very romantic. I was very surprised considering the first impressions of these two in the first book. It just was not what I was expecting. Overall I like the flow of the book and it is very interesting and worth a read. I have liked both books in the series and I am interested to see where this series goes.
Ambrose and Augie have been best friends since they met in college. They both have feelings for each other but their keeping them a secret because they think they are not reciprocated. When they go to a trip in Vegas for their friend’s wedding a series of events pushes them to admit their feelings.
It was a really fun and fast read. A great friends to lovers book with a heartwarming happy ending and a wonderful cast of characters. Ambrose and Augie had amazing chemistry and I really enjoyed their story.
I received an ARC of this book for an honest review.
This wonderful story of friends to loves grabbed my heart from the start…
Ambrose and Augie have been best and close friends since college .. they have always shared their thoughts and truths or have they?
Each have a secret to tell or not to tell….
At a friends wedding they met two girls who are a couple, the girls think the guys are boyfriends, that started lets be Fake boyfriends !
The journey between Ambrose and Augie takes them to a truth they both hold and then the truth is told ..
I loved this book so very much I didn’t want it to finish.
The guys are cute and wonderful and love does shine with a brilliance …
A.F.Zoella is a new to me author and honestly I will be reading more , I hadn’t read the first book in this series but now I am .
Another wonderful novel by A.F. Zoelle. When I read about Ambrose and Augie in the first book, Bet on Love, I wasn’t sure how their relationship would develop, especially after Ambrose was described as the ultimate playboy and it was obvious that Augie was in love with him. But their story turned out more in depth than I could have imagined and I love these two characters together.
I don’t want to give anything away. But the character arc of Ambrose, the secondary characters in this novel added to the story in ways that made you understand both men better, and the HEA was sweet. A lovely read that I can’t recommend highly enough!!
This was super cute and short story. This was a new to me author and I will definitely be reading more by A.F. Zoelle. I loved Ambrose and Augie! The main characters and side characters were beautifully written. Low angst and steamy slow burn romance. Loved the storyline!!
I am voluntarily leaving a review form an ARC that I received from Gay Romance Reviews. My reviews are solely based on my thoughts and opinions.
This series is the absolute cutest series! In this book you get August and Ambrose the two best friends from Bet in Love. While in Vegas these two men finally are able to get over their stumbling feet to confess their feelings for one another. After that, their relationship goes full speed ahead with no bumps in the road. This was a short read with amazingly lovable characters. I cannot wait for Callum’s story next!
Love Means More by A F Zoelle is the second book in the Good Bad Idea series. This contemporary m/m romance delivers a fake boyfriends iturns real theme mixed with a friends to lovers vibe. Add a dose of Bisexual awaking and you get this sweet, sexy and fun lovestory about Ambrose and Augie. I love this story and had a blast reading it. I am excited to see what books may follow.
