It was a night she’d never forget…Jenny Carman is tired of playing by the rules. It didn’t get her the promotion she so deserved, and it certainly didn’t get her Mr. Right. Or even Mr. Right now. It’s time for her to do something besides spend Saturday nights at the Laundromat. So she’s letting down her long blonde hair, stepping out of her gray suits and into some sexy stilettos… Leaning … stilettos…
Leaning against a bar, dressed in a lacy, curve-hugging red camisole, Jenny’s ready for action–and gorgeous businessman Robert Marshall eagerly takes the bait. She tells him her name is Jasmine, a hairstylist, and gets ready for a mind-blowing evening. Robert, however, is smart, funny, sensitive–worth a lot more than a hot one-night stand. But one lie leads to another, plunging Jenny/Jasmine in way over her head. She can’t keep this double life up forever–but will she still drive the handsome hunk wild if he discovers a good girl hiding inside?

This book turned me off at the very beginning. I didn’t mind that it was steamier than the author’s Good Hope books. What really irritated me were Jenny’s lies. I’m not trying to be sanctimonious or self righteous. I just felt that Jenny’s lies were stupid. Then they went from stupid to ridiculous. At 30 years old, she was too old for that crap. I couldn’t bring myself to like Jenny. I tried, but I couldn’t and I didn’t.
We all knew she was going to get caught and her lies were going to be revealed to Robert. When it happened, I couldn’t even feel sorry for her. It irritated me almost as much that when Robert found out, he didn’t immediately ask why. I could understand him not asking if he thought she was lying so she could get information on him or his family business, but that was not part of the storyline.
Also, what century did her parents live in? Not that what they believed was wrong or anything, but they sound like something out of the 50’s.
It wasn’t a bad book. A fast paced, quick read. Robert and Jenny got their HEA. This book really could have used an epilogue. I liked that the location was set in Chicago….familiar names and places for me. This was just not one of my favorite Cindy Kirk books. I would definitely recommend you read it and form your own opinion.
I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
Eyes meet across a crowded room, instant attraction, alias used for confidence boost. What she thought was going to be a one night stand turns into a relationship. Never a good time to tell him her true identity, but it is revealed anyway, of course. Clumsy explanation given, hurt feelings on both sides. Once she gets her explanation set so she can present it rationally and without crying, Jenny goes to Robert’s office. Explanation and apology given she leaves. Robert panics at losing her and follows. They talk further and work everything out.
I was given an ARC and am reviewing the book voluntarily.
Jenny is a CPA, she meets Robert at a bar. They have a one night stand, but then keep running into each other. Jenny tells Robert she is named Jasmine, and she owns a hair salon and day spa. She, along with her friend, Marcee make a Jasmine list. All things Jenny has always wanted to do, but never did. She gets a tattoo, she crashes a party sans panties.
Her and Robert are spending more time together, and she wants to tell him but is afraid to. In her real life as Jenny, she is about to start auditing Roberts family business. His brother was named CEO, and Robert went out on his own. How much longer can this charade go on ?? Robert is upset he was lied to. They talk about it and work everything out.
I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.
Jenny is a career driven good girl. She’s striving to succeed. While going through her grandma’s belongings she starts to remember the stories of her grandma’s friend Jasmine. She starts to wish she was more like Jasmine.
When she finally decides to go out after work with her friend/coworker, Jenny decided to resurrect Jasmine.
Jasmine is immediately drawn to Robert and Jenny is surprised when she’s enjoying the new found Jasmine. Robert and Jasmine hit it off, and Jenny feels that she’s left out. There’s times that she feels that Robert is drawn to Jenny, but knows that it’s not possible.
What happens when Robert finds out the truth? Will he be able to forgive Jenny? Is he drawn to just Jasmine?
Loved this book
Cindy Kirk’s Love Me Tonight is a fast-paced, sexy read. The main characters have depth and the sensuous plot flows smoothly.
Jennifer Carmen is counting on getting a promotion at work and when that falls through she decides it time to make a change. She ditches her conservative suit for a sexy, “look- at- me” outfit at hits the bar scene with friends. Jenny meets businessman Robert Marshall at the bar and introduces herself as hairstylist Jasmine Coret.
Jenny’s relationship with Robert becomes more and she continues to lie to him about her identity. They have a couple of close calls but the charade continues. I understood why Jenny threw caution to the wind for one night but I was surprised that she didn’t come clean to Robert earlier.
I loved the secondary characters of Will, Annie and Marcie and the roles they played in the storyline. The dialogue between sisters Annie and Jenny is fabulous. Annie is brutally honest with Jenny about everything; her clothes, her lack of a boyfriend, her job. Loved when Annie ran into Jenny and Robert—and wished Jenny had fessed up to Robert then.
The ending of the book was fabulous! I knew that Jenny’s lies were going to be revealed and I loved how the storyline played out. Love Me Tonight is very different in tone from the author’s Good Hope and Hazel Green series. I liked that there character development was similar. Both Jenny and Robert needed to step up emotionally and professionally; to acknowledge they had to make changes in their lives.
If you are looking for a fast –paced, sensuous read Love Me Tonight is the perfect book for you.
This book is a little different than other books I’ve read from Cindy Kirk and once I got into the book Icouldn’t stop. The book start with Jenny lying about her identity and how her life changes after that day. This book is steamier than the Good Hope and Hazel Green series and I loved it. I think is a very interesting story. I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from the publisher and am voluntarily reviewing it.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story of Jenny/Jasmine and Robert. Jenny is tired of being boring and what would one night of fun be of harm. So she reinvents herself as Jasmine and meets Robert in the bar. What was suppose to be just one night turns into so much more, but more lies are built until it comes crashing down on her.
Loved these characters very likable, even with all of the lies that Jenny told. Loved the setting of the story, my old hometown of Chicago!! This story is much sexier than what Cindy Kirk writes now but still her wonderful story telling. I had a hard time putting this book down. This is a reboot of her previous story. I read through my kindle unlimited.
I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from the publisher and am voluntarily reviewing it. Love Me Tonight is a sweet story that shows the importance of a work-life balance and how Jenny finds her forever love. Her struggles and the challenges along the way are told in such a genuine way it is easy to connect with the story and want to continue reading and the ending is the absolute best! The mystery and romance in this book is once again not a disappointment.
I enjoy Cindy Kirk’s books and looked forward to reading this one. I knew going in it was different from her usual series, and the story is hotter. I liked the characters of Jenny and Robert. I understood why Jenny wanted to create a persona of someone else as she saw herself as boring and unattractive. It took her a long time to realize she was just giving herself permission to be who she really is, and Robert helped her do it. You know the reckoning is coming when Robert finds out Jenny’s deception, but they work through it and find a forever love on the other side. I received an Advanced Ready Copy of this book from the publisher and am voluntarily reviewing it.
I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from the publisher and am voluntarily reviewing it. This book will be unexpected to frequent readers of Cindy Kirk. This book has a lot more sexiness and steam than we are used. I loved it. I loved Jenny and all of her family. I hope we get to know them better. I loved her bestfriend, Marcee, as well. She was off the chain and hilarious to boot.
Jenny and Robert are drawn to each other. Jenny makes up a persona, Jasmine, to pull herself out of a rut and allow her to be bold. This was supposed to be one night but fate has a way of chasing you down. Jenny/Jasmine keeps running into Robert and has to continue the lie because she really likes him. The good part is he really likes her as well. This book keeps you on pins and needles wondering when the next shoe will drop. Will Robert find out who she really is?
Their relationship is very cute. You will enjoy reading how they form a connection and you will feel the scorch of the love scenes. This book literally has it all. You will enjoy it even if it is not your usual cup of tea. Great read by a transforming author.
This book is fun, sexy and a bit different. Sometimes you lose because you don’t play and this book inspires you to play and not just in a romantic way.. Also hot hot guy!
I received an ARC of this book from the author for my honest review. Jenny Carmen is in a funk. Her beloved grandmother recently died, her last relationship was unfulfilling, and the promotion she was working for didn’t come through. Her friend convinces her to take a chance when out at a bar. She sees Robert and decides that she needs to channel the spirit of her grandmother’s free spirit best friend Jasmine, lying about her name, job and family. Jenny figures it is no big deal since they won’t see each other after their night together. However, one night turns into more, and the lies keep building. I normally love Cindy Kirk’s books, but I didn’t connect with the two main characters in this book. Jenny is supposedly this smart woman, but keeps lying, knowing that it will come back to bite her. As for Robert, his character didn’t start to come alive until about the last third of the book. Overall a decent read, but not my favorite from this author.
This book is more sensual than what I was used to in her Good Hope and Hazel Green series. More sizzle isn’t better or worse, only different, but the style is Cindy Kirk. This book tells the story of Jenny Carman, a staid CPA. Jenny is forced to go out one evening with her work friend, Marcee. Shy Jenny decides to channel her interpretation of her Grandmother’s friend (who died early in life), Jasmine Coret, in order to become more outgoing and adventuresome. While out with Marcee, Jenny sees an intriguing man, Robert Marshall, and “becomes” Jasmine in order to approach Robert. Of course, Robert has his own problems/demons. Sparks fly between the Jenny and Robert, but problems emerge as Jenny/Jasmine’s story includes more and more lies. The extended deceit leads to some entertaining situations, but the truth finally emerges and Robert is upset and feels betrayed.
I enjoyed this somewhat different writing style. The story was great, lots of humor, drama, and heartbreak. Both main characters, but especially Jenny, grow over the course of the book.
I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from the publisher and am voluntarily reviewing the book.
I really enjoyed this book. I was afraid that being a “duet” would mean it would end in the next book, but was relieved when it came to a very satisfying conclusion.
This one is spicier than most of hers, but very good. They were both very relatable and likable. Cindy is a great writer.
“I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from the publisher and am voluntarily reviewing it.” Thank you, Cindy, for the opportunity.
After cleaning out the house of her deceased grandmother & being passed over for a promotion at work, Jenny is ready to take a chance. She goes out with a friend for a night out & ends up with what was supposed to be a one night fling with Robert. Neither wanted to let go though & they soon had more a relationship. One that was based on a lie. See, Jenny was pretending to be someone other than her normal “boring” self when she met Robert & now she didn’t know how to tell him. As the time went on, she missed several times to tell him the truth & both of her lives began to get dangerously close. Would she ever tell Robert the truth? Would he forgive her if she did?
This was a hotter, sexier book than Cindy Kirk normally writes but I liked it. Anything less wouldn’t have had the same impact. Both characters are in business professions that can be classified as boring & nerdy. Jenny was socially awkward unless she was in a business situation. Her former boyfriend had completely shaken her self confidence. Robert was all business, all the time. He was determined to show his family he could make something of himself without the job heading the family company. I enjoyed the courtship even though I cringed every time Jenny passed up telling Robert the truth.
Cindy Kirk does it again – weaves a fairytale romance shrouded in secrets. Jenny, an introverted accountant, and Robert, a too-busy businessman, serendipitously meet in an overcrowded bar. Attraction draws them together for one drink. Little did each know that one meeting would end in a romance for a lifetime. A one-night stand turns into a passionate roller-coaster ride of a journey. As each uncovers the personal and professional layers that make up the other, old hurts and secrets are uncovered. Kirk leads her couple to a happily-ever-after—it is a romance after all—through convoluted scenarios that leave the reader breathless, in more ways than one. And on edge, wondering if this couple, who truly love each other, can really have a happily-ever-after. Having read many Kirk books over the years, I am always amazed that Kirk deftly makes it work…every time. And in a truly lovely and realistic way, that makes the reader believe that yes, this couple has gone through enough that their happily-ever-after will be forever.
I was given an advanced copy of this book.
Jenny has lost a promotion she was looking forward to and also in the midst of cleaning out her grandmothers house realizes how boring her life is. She goes out with her friend to a bar with her friend and finds a very handsome Richard. This is where her excitement begins. She reinvents herself into Jasmine her Grandmothers friend. Jasmine lived her life.
Robert and Jasmine find themselves having a lot of fun but, Robert has no clue who Jasmine really is.
This book takes you through all the fun Richard and Jenny have with each other. Also the serious side of family relationships. They both grow closer to each other and their family. Of course they never thought their nights together would turn in to anything more. Jenny must find a way to tell the truth about who she really is with the risk of Richard not understanding.
This book has a lot more adult content than I am use to from Cindy but, I really enjoyed this book. I am excited to get to read the next book. I was given this book as an ARC for my honest review.
Love Me Tonight is a fun, hot, steamy, and totally lovable story. This is a story of stepping out of your comfort zone, finding a new balance in life, and realizing that lies just lead to more problems down the line. Jenny has always been the shy, hard working, good girl but all that has gotten her is insecurities for her passions, passed over for promotion and a problematic relationship with her family. Robert always believed he would take over the family business but when it was given to his younger brother, he struck out on his own and started his own, highly successful business. Jenny and Robert aren’t looking for a permanent relationship, but a one-night stand begins an adventure that leads to true and lasting love. This was an amazing story filled with hot, steamy scenes and sigh-worthy moments. The characters and their issues are relatable.
I received this book from the publisher but all thoughts and feelings are my own.
Wow! This book was a bit steamier than Cindy’s usual – and I loved it! The characters were very realistic and I really loved that they were real people, nerdy people, who were just absolutely drawn to each other – and together they were absolutely magic! She just wrote my fantasy. Sigh. I could barely stand the tension, waiting for the truth to come out – Cindy does a great job with suspense, for sure. I’m pretty sure I groaned aloud when she DIDN’T tell him for the umpteenth time. Of course, I absolutely loved the ending. This one is definitely a winner.
