It’s too…pathetic.

Friends to Lovers. Sometimes who you thought you wanted wasn’t really who you wanted, once you are able to see what they are really like. Well written and edited.
I was given an ARC copy for an honest review.
This was such a fun and charming story! The characters were relatable and easy to fall in love with. A really sweet, feel-good story that had me captivated till the very end. This book will pull you right in and keep you engaged and smiling all the way through. The author does a great job of bringing the story to life with great characters that are lovable and endearing. Emma and Aiden are so perfect and adorable together. One small lie forces them to really see each other and face their feelings. A common fake relationship plot with a unique twist, you’ll be turning the pages till you finish and if you’re like me, will be sad the story is over! Highly recommended!

If this story were a person, it would be my kookie best friend! I lol lol loved this upbeat take on the “fake it till you make” romance trope!
I received a review copy of this book, and I am leaving a voluntary review.
This was a funny story about a lie that spiraled out of control. Emma upset over losing her shoe pitch and her job was trying on her favorite wedding dress when the queen of mean from high school sees her and in a panic Emma concocts this big lie about getting married. Emma doesn’t think anything more about it until it’s on social media, all these donations to the children’s hospital are made in her name, her family has expectations, and her best friend next door Aiden gets roped into playing the part of the fiance. I laughed out loud at so many parts reading this book as their situation was out of control with his exuberant family and his new client’s and her parents’ expectations. I loved that Aiden liked old movies and was an old romantic soul at heart. Emma was a little over the top at times and many of her lies were so crazy that I’m surprised anyone believed them. Her roommate and friend Katie was sweet and supportive and it made me smile what Emma did for her. This story would make a great sweet romantic comedy movie.
Making The Lie Truthful –
Aiden and Emma have been friends for years who have feelings for each other. However, they keep their relationship platonic, as they each believe their feelings won’t be reciprocated. Fortunately and unfortunately, Emma tells a lie to save face, which puts them on a rollercoaster ride that forces them to together.
This beautifully written story, shows how sometimes we don’t see what is right in front of us, until someone else points it out to us. The author made the characters come alive with funny and unbelievable moments, which were combined with cringeworthy scenes, that will leave you in shock. This is a book that you will definitely want to read.

Love Me Like You Mean It utilizes the trope of fake fiancé and friends to lovers in a way that haven’t read before. It’s well-written, creative, and is uniquely funny in the trips and triumphs of the characters.
While the story itself is well-crafted, I wasn’t able to connect with Emma at all, and that is the reason I gave this book a 4-star rating.
I opened and finished in the same day. It was a fun & quick read. Great story for when you want to decompress with a bit of humor & romance. I liked how Laura Burton had the h just digging herself deeper & deeper. Pretty comical & I thought had believability to it. The story had a nice flow. I’ll need to go back and read #1. This sparked my interest. I enjoyed all the characters. Definitly a clean romance. Thanks for that!
****Minor spoiler******
When her roomates boyfriend just shows up announces I’m not in the military anymore! I felt the way it was written was a plot hole. Or could’ve used some explanation as in how that happened since he was supposed to be in the middle of a deployment.
Love Me Like You Mean It is a laugh out loud story of lies, friendship and romance and how they can interact in the most unexpected way. It took me a while to warm to Emma but I did eventually see past the ‘poor me’ attitude to the kind, caring and considerate girl hiding underneath the lies and insecurity. Luckily Emma has her two best friends to help her when an impulsive and massive lie suddenly goes viral.
This friends to romance rom-com is a good read and will appeal to a fans of this genre.
his story is absolutely the best & so funny. One lie leads to many more & soon spirals out of control. The blurb about this story explains just the beginning of the adventure for Emma, Aiden, Shelly, Katie, Colin & all the families involved. You really have to read this story & get some good laughs when the real world we presently live in is so stressful. The end will surprise you also. I received a copy from the author. This is my voluntary review.
I just adored this story! It was cute, and silly, and outrageous in the best way possible. It was light and fun and a perfect eacape. Not too long, but still delivers. I loved Aiden and Emma, for all her brand of crazy! Some of the stuff from Aiden was pure swoon.
Absolutely loved this story! I laughed so much and the pacing was absolutely perfect. I highly recommend this book.
I loved this story!! I can’t believe all the lies and how everything turned out. I really thought they were going to go through with their extravagant wedding, but I like that they gave it to Katie. I thought it was sweet how Katie, and Aiden’s and Emma’s parents all knew they had feelings for the other. Even Bill and Jane. So sweet.
I received an advanced copy of this book from the author to read. I am leaving my honest review by my own choice.
Love Me Like You Mean It is a wildly funny contemporary romance. Laura Burton have written a light hearted wonderfully funny story. Emma has had the worst day of her life… she lost her job and ran into a childhood frienemy! What follows is a fake engagement with her best friend, Aiden. The more Emma and Aiden try to tell people the truth, the more entangled they become. The characters are wonderful and the pace is perfect. I could not put the book down. If you enjoy clean romance with zany characters, you will want to read Love Me Lie You Mean it! I received an arc for my honest review.
This book was a great cure for the corona isolation, but actually it would be great on any day. It is so funny and I am not just saying that in a phony oh you’re amazing kind of way. Laura Burton has a sense of humor but I totally connect with as most people, because she always gets five star reviews and I know why she’s awesome. Just the summary had me laughing with her in the middle of a bridal shop trying on gowns but reading The book had me laughing so much my husband had to asked me to start stop giggling more than once. I highly recommend this book it is so so good!
This quirky, laugh out loud book will have you surprised at all the mixed up comedy of white lies that Emma King was constantly drawn into. One lie led to another when she was caught in the embarrassing position of trying on a wedding dress, not because that she was an expectant bride, but due to an unusual addiction to assuage her depression. The string of lies grew into more comedic scales as more people were dragged into this harmless deception, even her best friend, hunky New Yorker, Aiden, too kind to even disagree when he was mistakenly congratulated as her fiancee! Read Laura’s ” Love Me Like You Mean it” and be entertained by some funny gimmicks and light romantic adventures of Emma and Aiden.
I was lucky to receive an ARC copy for which I have willingly left a review.
This romantic comedy was such a fun book to read with a great storyline and wonderfully created characters that made this book a very enjoyable read that I couldn’t put this book down until I finished reading the very last page!
This book will make you forget any trouble you have and just make you happy as you enjoy how one big, white lie can escalate so out of control for Emma King as she gets fired from her shoe designer job and faces a surprise thirtieth birthday party all in the same day. And that is how the fun begins along with many surprises too. I really liked how the story ended. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
This was such a sweet and funny story! How could one little lie about trying on wedding dresses balloon so out of control? The situations that the characters find themselves in are hilarious and had me laughing as I read them. I loved that the ”fake” engagement turned into a real HEA.

I’m totally and absolutely in love with Emma and Aiden.
Such a beautiful story and such a strong and true friendship.
The innocent “little” white lie that Emma tells her frienemy Shelly takes such a dimension that there seems to be no other option than to follow the plan and get married for real. So many would suffer if they didn’t. The families, Aiden’s future work, the children, the hospital… What a mess!
But no marriage should start with a lie. And she really likes him but doesn’t want to risk their friendship. What if he doesn’t feel the same?
So, she ends up using the wedding plans to help her best friend and give her a dream wedding.
She just hopes Aiden can forgive her…
Don’t miss out on this beautiful story of friends to lovers…
I received a free ARC copy of this book and this is my honest opinion
