Ever told a white lie that spirals outta control and you end up finding true love? Just me? I was having the worst day ever, and to cheer myself up I was trying on wedding gowns at a boutique.Which is cool, until my frenemy walked in with her posse of women.“Emma! You’re getting married too? So am I!”I’m NOT getting married. I don’t even have a boyfriend.I just find wearing a wedding dress can … boyfriend.
I just find wearing a wedding dress can turn a bad day around.
But I couldn’t bring myself, to tell the truth.
It’s too…pathetic.
So I say a little white lie.
But then it spirals out of control…and now she’s blasted my “engagement” all over social media and everyone is getting way too excited.
I beg my best friend Aidan to fake being my fiancé…just for a while. And he agrees!
The problem is the two of us are the world’s worst liars. It’s only a matter of time before one or both of us mess up.
But the more we pretend to be in love, the more I start to wonder if the only people we are lying to is ourselves.
Now I’m wondering if my little white lie can help me find my happy ending?

This is a wonderfully sweet and cute story, of best friends caught up in a true lie. And they say fiction imitates life…
A deliciously sweet romance that will make you laugh out loud and smile along with some very swoon worthy moments. An easy read that just seems to flow from one page to the next. An interesting and rather unusual storyline with excellently portrayed characters. This is an enjoyable, clean and sweet series that pushes all the right buttons. READ THIS BOOK Jan 20, 2021
Love Me Like You Mean It is rom-com perfection… Burton has a gift with words that’s infectious and wry, one that keeps the pages turning in delight.
I LOVED this book. The pacing was excellent (no boring section in the middle). The characters were funny and delightful. A definite must read.

When a big pitch doesn’t go as planned Emma ends up fired. She goes to the boutique to try on wedding dresses to try and get cheered up. When a old school mate sees her and assumes she’s getting married she goes along with the assumption. It isn’t until that person makes the announcement on social media that it becomes a problem. Aiden is her best friend and neighbor. Soon the both of them are caught up in her lie and its hard to tell what’s real and what’s not. Can they finally admit they have feelings for each other?
This is a great story that will hook you in the first chapter and leave you wanting more with the last. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Katie tries on a wedding dress and tells a lie to her nemesis. Her best friend, Aiden, agrees to go along with the lie, thinking it is temporary. Neither want to jeopardize their long friendship, but it can get confusing mixing up real hidden feelings with lies. Cute story. Easy to read. Simple, but just right for what it is.
This is a short and sweet quick read that’s good for a few laughs. Emma’s a bit cringey because she’s extremely immature for thirty and so self-absorbed that she can’t read a room, ever, in any situation, especially since her best friend is clearly in love with her and she’s breaking his heart. The way the lie spirals out of control is pretty over the top but the silly supporting cast and Aiden being such a sweetie save this book.
This was both awkward and hilarious to read. They are both so obviously head over heels but to shy or scared to tell one another. Its a good thing all that crazy crap happened because honestly they were perfect. I mean gorgeous guys that can deal with helping a friend in a crisis and is a perfect gentleman doesn’t ever happen so grab that boy and never let him go! And I cannot be to mad at the MC I mean come on we have all felt inferior to others in the past We all just have different ways of dealing with it. Trying on a pretty dress (granted its a wedding dress) and things spiral from there but hey its gotta be better than feeling horrible and eating a gallon of ice cream. This was fun and I will read more from this author for sure.
Totally lacking in credibility…. but if you set that aside it is a lot of fun. Can’t say I am a fan of the lies … or that anyone would believe them. Don’t expect to like the characters. Just enjoy how it all gets snarled up and then unsnarled.
i liked the book and will try to read more books by this author
This book kept me turning the pages until I finished it. I loved how the characters decided to keep things simple after a misunderstanding blew their situation out of proportion. They had some hilarious mishaps, funny conversations, and the perfect ending. I really enjoyed it and totally recommend it.
Absolutely loved this book and can’t wait to read the series! Ms. Burton has written a fun but serious story, which anyone can relate to.
This was a sweet read that involved a lie gone horribly wrong. When Emma is caught trying on a wedding dress by her high school nemesis, she spins a tale about a romantic wedding to a man madly in love with her. What happens next is a testament to the lengths people will go to keep up appearances.
Emma and Aiden find that they have to keep lying to protect the first lie (isn’t that a lesson for us?) In the midst of it, they have to confront their real feelings for each other.
I like the fact that they eventually came clean but wonder how some of the resulting fallout would be resolved as this was not mentioned in the story.
I also wish they had opened up about their feelings for each other earlier so we could witness more of their romance onscreen. Overall, this was a fun read that had some funny and endearing moments.
I received an advanced reader’s copy from the publishers through Reading Cave; a positive review was not required.
