Brilliant!
From the opening chapter, I knew this was a special book. As I don’t want to ruin it for you, I will not explain further. Melissa and Ronan are well developed characters with a little more to them than it initially appears.
Just when I thought it was a little too predictable along came an amazing twist, giving the last part of the book a little pizazz.
I enjoy Ms Burton’s well written stories, but this is her best to date. Kudos!
-“ I’m a small-town girl. Stuck in a job I don’t like, working for a boss who hates me. My life is insanely dull. If it wasn’t for my bestie, Elsie. My days would be monotonous. And in my town, bachelors––correction––sexy bachelors are in short supply. I’ve never seen one up close. Not even at the local swimming pool… It may be easy to pretend I like this guy. But acting comfortable around him, even when he’s standing two feet away from me, will be difficult. Besides, by the end of this, I’m pretty sure there will be nothing left of me but a puddle on the floor. Let the shenanigans begin.“-
Absolutely loved this book! Gina Ardito wrote a similar story years ago and since then I’ve been an absolute sucker for these types of storylines. Very well written, very romantic, and clean.
This was such a fun read! A cute twist in a reality show and fake relationship. It’s light and fun and adorable. Ronan and Mel are too cute. This is a clean story, but it’s not without spark and chemistry
“Love in the Spotlight” by Laura Burton
I was looking for something a little different than what I usually read _ _ _ and this was it. A truly laugh out loud romantic comedy that never quite does what you expect. I received an ARC of this story from the author with the hope that I would post a review. I enjoyed my time in this story and if the book blurb caught your eye, then I think you will enjoy reading this story. Happy Reading ! !
When I started reading this story, I could not put it down. I read the book in one day. This author is an awesome writer. I can not wait to read more of their books. Keep up the great work. You should definitely read this book.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I really liked this book it was a good read, kept me attached to it from the first page. I was a little upset with how it ended before the epilogue, felt it was a little rushed and left just hanging. The Epilogue cleared some stuff up but I felt like I was left hanging. Good read just wish it wasn’t such an abrupt finish. Good Read and story line though!
I received an ARC via Bookfunnel but these opinions are my own.
Melissa and Ronan, two single applicants to a reality dating show, both get chosen to pair up together to act like a fake couple. Both need the prize money, which would solve money problems for them, even when shared. This book often made me smile, which is why I had to read two hours before I could put it down to fall back asleep. Melissa is likable with her small-town shyness and awkwardness. Ronan is a sympathetic hero. The two try to work together in challenges while appearing to be a loving couple.
This was a fun rom com. The setting took place as a reality TV show, but it really worked. It was funny, sweet, emotional and a bit steamy. (Make you hot under your skin, steamy) How they were able to sleep in the same room/bed and refrain from anything more than kisses, made my heart tingle. (PG-13) There was a twist at the end that surprised me and made me love the story even more! I enjoyed the characters of Melissa and Ronan. The were fun and complimented each other right from the start. This is a quick easy read, maybe a little rushed at the end. Give it a go and have fun with it.
Too good for words! At first I wasn’t sure about this book, but damn…by the end, I was in tears.
Laura Burton hit all the sweet notes. Not sure if this book is considered a Rom-Com, but it had all the aspects with the most perfect HEA ending. You will enjoy Melissa and Ronan’s story. I’d give more stars if I could but 5 stars is max.
Love me in the sport light is a stand-alone in the Be My Fake Fiance series and can out of order.
Such a fun story. If you want a lighthearted read (and let’s face it who doesn’t right now?) this book fits the bill perfectly. A fun look at a TV reality show from the main characters perspectives, Ronan and Mel, who really didn’t want to be there.
My favorite part was when they were on the island and Ronan clean up all the spiders for Mel. Such a gentleman!
What an entertaining and fun book! No spoilers here though. I truly enjoyed the storyline and characters just as I do every one of Ms. Burton’s books. This is a good book to escape with.
I love Clean romance about reality TV!
I had enjoyed the Sariah Wilson books with this trope, and Laura Burton has just sealed my dedication as an unabashed fan. I may not like watching this on tv, but reading about it…Wow!
I loved the fairy tale of it all as Mel and Ronan work through obstacles together: trust, mazes, and real-world issues exacerbating the gravity of their choices.
This story was so very sweet, fun, sexy, heart-touching, and exciting!
I received an ARC copy of this book and I am leaving a voluntary review.
This is the first book I have read by Sarah Burton. It was funny, romantic, and a page turner. I really enjoyed how the story began with Melissa. I started off laughing right away at her sense of humor and clumsy ways. It was fun to see how she met Ronan before they ended up as a fake couple on the reality show, Love Trials. I enjoyed the couple challenges and the twists and turns that the author created. I could not put the book down! I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
I was given a copy of this book for an honest review. I completely fell in love with these characters! They were so quirky and REAL after they are thrown together as a couple on a reality tv show. Their attraction for each other becomes one awesome whirlwind to developing feelings. This was a fantastic read.
I received this book free and I am voluntarily doing a review. Great cover! I lived loved reading how they get their amazing love story. The author has great writing style that just grabbed my attention from the start.
This book was a fun, short read about two people who did not know each being thrown together on a reality show for couples. Both of them have their own reasons for being on the show and love isn’t one of them. These characters are well crafted and have a great chemistry. I enjoyed their actions and and reactions. This is a good read

Enjoyed this cute funny romance with Melissa and Ronan who meet on a reality show and have to convince the other contestants and the public that they are a real couple when in fact they have just met each other on the show. There are laughs and romance and some crazy characters.
