Women are dying. The killer wants to play a game with Lilah Love. Lilah doesn’t play games, she doesn’t submit to demands. The love of her life, her ex-lover, that isn’t so ex at all, Kane Mendez, knows that all too well, but like the hero, or perhaps criminal that he is, he’ll try to play the game for her. But this killer isn’t playing with Kane, demanding Lilah step up or more blood will be … step up or more blood will be shed. Lilah claims her role on the game board, and she’ll do it to save lives, but she isn’t happy. And when Lilah isn’t happy, someone is going to die alright, and it won’t be her fault. It will, however, be her duty.

Wow is all I can say…. ok I want more!
The Lilah Love saga continues! Murders, secret societies, mafia, dirty cops, and questionable family loyalties. Nothing is as it seems. Lilah reads murder scenes to find the murderer, and it has always worked. But the Umbrella Man is murdering and manipulating. He’s stringing her along and she feels him; knows she’s missing something. It’s right there just out of reach.
The push an pull with Kane culminates in passion and acceptance. He keeps her from being swallowed by the darkness within. She keeps him from turning into his uncle. They both do what they have to do, but they provide each other with that light, even if just a glimpse at times. They would kill for each other.
The cliffhanger? It’s epic! I’m so glad the next book comes in October!!
Love Me Dead (Lilah Love Series Book 3) by Lisa Renee Jones is the thrilling life of FBI profiler Lilah Love. It is also Book one of this duet within the series. As in the previous books, Murder Notes and Murder Girl, Lilah is working a case that has her baffled. A serial killer whose calling card is an umbrella.
Lilah is a smart, sassy, FBI profiler with a sassy attitude. She takes control when she needs to while trusting only a few. I love the way Lisa has written Lilah and how she associates with others. She’s not afraid to speak her mind but knows that sometimes she needs to keep her mouth shut.
The secondary characters play a huge role as supporting characters. Lilah’s interactions with them help shape her as the lead character. If you have read Murder Notes and Murder Girl, you know Kane Mendez plays a pivotal role in Lilah’s past and present, and this is still true in Love Me Dead. Even though this is not a romance novel per say, the chemistry between them is undeniable.
Love Me Dead is a A Fast Paced, Suspenseful, Edge Of Your Seat 5 Star Must Read addition to the Lilah Love Series. If you are not a fan of cliffhangers, I suggest you wait until the release of Love Kills before you read Love Me Dead since in ends in a huge cliffhanger. I personally don’t mind the cliffhanger. It gives me something to look forward to.
I love love love Lilah Love! Love Me Dead is so full of action, and like a puzzle. Her life is all mixed up between the bad and the good, and she’s got such crazy skill when figuring out a murder. Everyone is a suspect, And Lilah doesn’t beat around the bush, she’s not warm and fuzzy. There’s only one man who brings that out in her and I love them together.
Okay, so I wasn’t expecting it, but this does end on a cliffhanger. So now I’m dying because I have to wait to find out what happens. But it will be worth it. You could read this without reading her other books first but I wouldn’t recommend it. Just my opinion.
This is a fast paced, thrilling read laced with suspense, mystery and drama. I love Lilah Love and her take no prisoners approach to life. She’s a total kick butt heroine that has no soft spots except for Kane.
”Kane, if you send someone to watch me, and I mistake them for a problem, I will shoot them.”
Then I’ll send someone I don’t mind losing.”
Kane and Lilah’s relationship is definitely headed in the right direction but they’ve still got issues standing between them. Kane has a shadowy presence within his family’s cartel business which prevents him from sharing everything with Lilah, to keep her safe. Lilah’s badge makes it problematic that the man she loves has an attachment to organized crime. Even so, they lean on each other and I love that despite the times she wants to shoot him, he is her everything.
We have just a touch of the Society in this one, but a ton of mystery we have no clue who, what or why. I have my own opinions, but seeing as this ends a HUGE cliffhanger, they won’t be verified until the next book releases. Be prepared to be sucked into this story. Have snacks and drinks handy because once you start you won’t want to stop.
Emotionally thrilling, action packed and edge of your seat exciting adventure filled with danger, mystery and heart pounding twists…. This series just gets better and better and I am so looking forward to finding out what happens next! Excellent reading!
Holy cliffhanger! Lisa you are killing me. This. Story kept me on edge all the way through. I don’t know how I’m going to survive waiting for the next book. I highly recommend this story!
This next story in the Lilah Love series was so awesome. The suspense and mystery of what happens in this latest book had me on the edge of my seat. The connection between Lilah and Kane seems to have heated up again. There is no doubt they love one another. The chemistry between Kane and Lilah is so intense. They understand one another like no one else does. Lilah has always known in the back of her mind who Kane is and as time goes by she is slowly coming to terms with it. They are definitely better for each other together than apart. I love how protective Kan is of Lilah regardless of the fact Lilah can handle herself. The mystery surrounding these latest murders and the taunting the killer is doling out towards Lilah has me wanting to know what will happen next. I can not even guess as to who Umbrella Man is! Ms Jones is genius in the way she weaves a story together! I can not wait for the next book.
I was on the edge of my seat. I can’t wait for more!
Love Me Dead is a mad dash against the clock. And Lilah is distracted, she can’t think of any kind of connection to her case. Apart from maybe herself, or Kane. And that’s possibly why she can’t solve it right now. She’s in her purgatory, and she’s doing everything she usually knows so well how to do. However, she can’t find that detail that’s just out of her reach…
I really enjoyed this story, both because Kane is more present in Lilah’s life, and because some of the things of their past are put to rest.
It ends on a cliffhanger, though, and I’m already completely ready for the next book. I just HAVE to know!
I enjoy reading Lilah’s stories, however, I hoped that by now the books would not end in cliffhangers. Even so, the story got my attention from the beginning. Some pending questions from the previous books are solved, Lilah and Kane’s relationship is still a mystery but there’s no doubt he is important in her life. There’s also a change in scenery, Lilah now works in New York. Enjoyable and entertaining!
I downloaded a copy of this book through NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.
In this one the killer wants to play but Lilah doesn’t. So Kane tries to play in her place. No go for the killer since he is not the player that the killer wants playing. So she does so lives can be saved except one. This will make you turn the pages to see if she wins.
I love books with a strong female protagonist and Lilah Love is that in spades! She is a potty mouth, take no guff, balls to the wall hunter/profiler with the FBI. While this is book 3 in a series, I started with this one and did not feel left out. Characters from the previous books appear and are integral to this story; especially Kane – the dark, on-the-edge-criminal, love interest. The attraction between Lilah and Kane sizzles yet any intimate moments are discreet. This fast paced story does end with a cliff hanger but I’m eager to continue this ride to find out who the Umbrella Man is! I didn’t want to put this book down so I will make sure to clear a weekend to continue with book 4 in this series.
I received a free copy from Netgalley. This is my unbiased review.
This reminds me slightly of series like the Alex cross series where you have to read them in order to understand each villain that sticks around. Or maybe like Jack Daniels? I dunno, either way, the books are a commitment and the romantic element is ongoing as well. This is definitely something she plans on writing for a while. Good thing because i really enjoy these! #netgalley #lovemedead
Who is Lilah Love? What does she do for a living? What is her kryptonite? Oh, I think I love Kane! Best line near the beginning of the book was “Then I’ll send someone I don’t mind losing.” You will have to read this book to find out why that line is said. From the beginning of the story, to the cliff-hanger at the end of ths first book of the duet, my whole body was tense with the suspense. I want to know who “The Umbrella Man” is!!! Holy smokes! Watching Kane and Lilah reconnect was fun to watch, especially their dynamics.

Facts: Love Me Dead is book #3 of Lilah Love series by NY Times, and USA Today best-selling author Lisa Renee Jones. This book is the first in the next duet of the Lilah Love series, but it’s best if the series is read in order. The book is told from the heroine’s point of view with a cliffhanger ending. Genres: Women Sleuths | Romantic Suspense. Tropes: Alpha hero | love triangle
With Love Me Dead, Lisa Renee Jones another heart pounding novel where Special Agent Lilah Love is racing against the clock to find the serial killer she’s dubbed “The Umbrella Man.”
Still working under her old boss in order to take down “The Society,” a group of powerful people determined to rule the world no matter the cost, Lilah has relocated to New York. But before she can continue with that quest, she must first solve the mystery behind the person who is murdering women and leaving clues specially for Lilah.
And now that she’s close to her not so ex-lover, Kane Mendez, he’s more determined than ever to protect her while convincing her that they belong together.
Lisa Renee Jones expertly pens a story with all the elements that make up a hooking read. An unapologetic, smart@ss heroine you can’t help but like and admire. An alpha anti-hero who is utterly devoted to the heroine. Explosive chemistry and a deep connection between the two. Appealing secondary characters that add much necessary comedic relief and move the plot along, and of course a well thought out and developed plot that’s both exciting and hooking. I can’t wait to read more!
Geez, another cliffhanger. But I did kind of expect it. Therefore, I made sure I could jump right into Love Kills. Lilah is a different breed. She doesn’t take crap from anyone; not even Kane. She’s not touch feely. She says it like it is. She’s a true bada**. But through all that, there is one person who understands her better than anyone ever will…Kane. She tries so hard to deny it, but there is just to much pull between these two. He keeps her grounded and she gives him light. I love the banter between them too. So when they fight, they usually get all hot and bothered and fall into bed. Lilah is determined to find the Umbrella Man. So many suspects. So we have so much mystery and some suspense too. I can’t wait to continue the story to find out all the juicy details.
Here we go again running full tilt out of the gate! Lilah is again stalked by a serial killer determined to make her play his game. This time the killer is using family against each other to accomplish his twisted goal. Lilah sees the Umbrella Man in everyone she meets and is racing to discover his identity before he strikes again. I feel like this one has more action than the first two, which I really enjoy. I am again left dangling off the cliffhanger & left screaming NOOOOO when it ends. I need the next book.
Just so you know, Love Me Dead ends in a helluva cliff hanger. But don’t let that put you off. Lisa Renee Jones has penned a remarkable tale. As the body count continues to mount, the mystery deepens and the suspense heightens, all of Lilah Love’s skills are put to the test. She trusts no one and suspects everyone until they prove otherwise. Kane has his own ongoing problems too. Both of them may be in peril for vastly different reasons but together their strength is a big plus.
Love Me Dead is a fantastic book 3 in the Lilah Love series. You will love Lilah in this one as she tries to figure out who is behind everything. The ever present Kane is everything. I love the banter between Lilah and Kane. I love trying to figure out who is behind the killings along side Lilah. She is so strong and is just amazing. This series as a whole is beyond amazing for all you thriller mystery solvers out there. You are taken on a ride and then some when it comes down to Kane and Lilah. I cannot wait for more to come and find out who is behind everything. I loved every moment and could not put this one down. I love Lilah and Kane so much.
