Love me darling. 3 1/2 stars
At the beginning of this story (mainly ch 2), I was so confused by all the names of people. Like I should know them already. Which I would have if I had read the other books in the series (which I didn’t know was a series, when I started it). That being said, it was a cute easy story to read. The characters we’re like someone in your own family. I would recommend this book, but I would strongly suggest reading the other books in the series 1st. I’m sure it would help explain who some of the people are! “I received a free review copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review
I offered to review this audiobook because I am such an an avid reader but also almost exclusively audio due to my schedule. Because of this, and the fact that a bad narrator can destroy a great series, I can be very critical of narrators. Especially when books have a single narrator required to speak with different voices for multiple characters. Most cannot do it without having some errors where they use the wrong ‘voice’ for the wrong character. For this book, I didn’t feel the male characters were ‘male’ enough in their voice and heard some confusion in who should be talking. That said, it wasn’t extreme enough for me to not listen.
As to the story, I am not one to give a lot of specific story details since I feel you should read the story for that. This is a short story with a happy ending. It has good character and story development. Even though it is book 4 of a series, as a reader who never read books 1 – 3 I was easily able to follow the story and characters.

This book has got its bases covered in the cute department!
Lucas and Lottie are friends who both want something more, but neither knows how the other feels and so they are finding their way toward what they both want.
A Friends to Sweethearts story that is perfect to cuddle up by the fire with.
I listened to the audio version of this book.
This was a short, sweet holiday romance that will put the holiday warmth back in your heart. It starts with Lottie and Lucas being friends as they have been for years. Although Lottie has loved Lucas for a long time, Lucas was apparently clueless…until the mistletoe incident. Things start getting interesting then.
There is a whole gathering of secondary characters that add a lot to the story. I love it when secondary characters are about as important as the main characters! A delightful story!
I was given a complimentary copy of this book through Story Origin. All thoughts are my own.
“Love Me, Darling” by Laura Burton
I really liked this light sweet clean contemporary romance story. I received a copy of the audiobook from the author. It took some time, and I did mostly get used to what seemed to me to be abrupt changes between characters and between their thought conversations and actual conversations. I am not sure but possibly in the print version formatting and punctuation let the reader in on those changes between who was talking and between thinking and speaking. I am thinking a 3-1/2 star rating.. so averaged it up to a 4-star.
This is my first book to read written by Laura Burton.
The setting of the story is in England and there were a lot of references and terminology I didn’t understand. I’m also hoping that it will be proofed again because there are quite a few grammatical errors in it. Though it is a sweet story, I had trouble following along as it would go back and forth between the two characters as they told the story from their view point. I had to restart a couple of chapters when I realized I didn’t know who was talking. I did finally figure it out and liked how it ended.
