A best-friends-to-lovers standalone romance from New York Times bestselling author Kendall Ryan. She says she needs some help … in the bedroom.Come again? No, really come again.Sweet, nerdy, lovable Keaton. She’s my best friend and has been for years. Sure she likes numbers and math, and thinks doing other people’s taxes is fun. And I like … none of that stuff. She’s obsessed with her cat and … … none of that stuff. She’s obsessed with her cat and reads novels I’ll never understand, and yet we just click. There’s no one I’d rather share breakfast burritos with or binge watch hours of Netflix. She’s my person. And so when she takes off her glasses and asks me to help her improve her skills in the bedroom, I barely have to think about it.
Of course I’ll help her. There’s no one better for the job.
I’ve been there for her through everything, why should this be any different?
But what happens when she’s ready to take her new-found confidence and move on?

Love Machine was a very sweet, sexy and quick read.
And my review will be just as quick and sweet. Keaton and Slate have been friends for years and neither looked at the other as more than a friend. Even when Keaton asks Slate to help her in her “sexplorations” neither bat an eye at the thought of this messing up their friendship or things becoming awkward.
Keaton and Slate easily fall in love with one another without realizing it til they are both shocked at their revelations. Their banter and interactions is so natural, it’s no wonder neither could see what was so easily in their faces the whole time.
If you are looking for an easy and fast read – this one is definitely the right choice.
“Love is friendship, but it is friendship with fire in its belly.”
Three things before I start. One, friends to lovers is my favorite trope, so yes, I needed to read this book. Two, the more Kendall Ryan books I read, the more I fall in love with her characters and her storytelling. Three… the cover!
“It’s like my brain is suddenly realizing he’s male for the first time ever.”
Slate is definitely swoonworthy. Look, I know he’s the playboy and the dater, but he is the sweetest thing to his friends. He is the sweetest thing to his friend’s cat. I found myself wondering where I can get my own Slate while reading this book.
“I need to give her everything; I couldn’t say no even if I wanted to.”
I love Keaton. She is definitely nerdy, and she loves her numbers and her spreadsheets. She’s not very experienced when it comes to sex, and that becomes very apparent during an event with her friends. And this got me laughing out loud because… cucumber.
So maybe she needs some guidance… from someone who is definitely experienced?
“He must feel me ogling the delicious curve of his backside because he asks, ‘Do you need some water to rehydrate from all that drooling?’
‘I could use some rehydration, yes,’ I admit with a chuckle. Busted.”
More than sweet, this book is a lot of fun. You can see how much they care about each other as friends, and you’re there to witness the change in their relationship. And yes, it is hot, and sooo engaging I found myself not wanting to stop reading until the book was over.
“Sometimes I can’t believe this is real life, that the nerdy girl got the hunk. But it is, and I did.”
It was obvious to everyone else but them that they were perfect for each other. While Keaton needed someone to teach her more about sex, Slate needed someone to teach him about love and that not all relationships need to end in tears. This was one hell of a learning curve.
Slate’s your guy for between-the-sheets tutoring… except I’m pretty sure Keaton is the teacher’s pet. A lively, sexy take on the friends-to-lovers theme!
I pretty much love everything this woman writes… But this series has to be the best, I laughed so hard, cried harder, and then got all choked up. That is what I call a perfect book. Friends to lovers, great story line. The characters were amazing too! Love the friendship between all of them, it is just so easy and fun. Cannot wait for the next book! Keep them coming Kendall!

“Love is friendship, but it is friendship with fire in it’s belly.”……Meera
This quote truly summed up this story. As you can tell it is a friends to lovers story.
Love Machine is such a fun, sexy and easy beach read….perfect for that afternoon escape. There was just the right amount of humor, sexy times and emotion to captivate the audience all the way through. This is probably one of my favorite Kendall Ryan books, but truly I have a hard time picking since I love all her books!!!! Although this is HANDS DOWN my favorite cover by Kendall 😉
What happens when a simple exploration turns into the most important lesson you can learn??
Well read Love Machine and find out how Keaton and Slate navigate these waters. This storyline was interesting from the beginning to the end. And the characters you truly couldn’t help falling in love with both Keaton and Slate. They are totally opposites but they work well together. I thought the pace and flow of the story was perfect. As always I get swept up in Kendall’s writing.
In this story we follow the friendship of Keaton and Slate as they venture into territory neither one could’ve been prepared for. Keaton and Slate have been friends for 10 years. So it is only natural that Keaton asks her “playboy” friend for help when it comes to intimate times. Keaton is a strong, focused business woman who hasn’t had much time for the opposite sex. After a blunder at her friends bachelorette party, Keaton realizes she isn’t as experienced as she would like to be. Enter Slate. Slate is an extremely fun, loving, and sexy man. After being burned year ago he adopted the no attachment cause to women. So when his best friend comes to him for help, he is more than willing. What happens though when things change?? Slate starts seeing Keaton in a different light?? Can these two keep their friendship in tact?? Can they find their HEA?? Read this book to get those answers.
Keaton and Slate’s journey into something more was sweet, sexy and a whole lot of fun. Even though awkward moments were charming. I loved their friendship and I loved that it was between a man and a woman….Usually in books I always rave about the female friendships I read about.
I would 100% recommend this to anyone who loves a friends to lovers/opposites attract romance. This was fun and quirky and just what I come to expect from a Kendall Ryan novel. If you are a fan of Kendall’s then you don’t want to miss this gem!!!!
***5 ‘Patron Saint’ Stars***
This one was a such a fun read and one that I was totally invested in that I *cough* “multitasked” *cough* and finished it in a couple of hours. It had just the right amount of feels which include the sniffly/teary kind as well as the “Ouch!” kind and really just hit all the right buttons for me from start to finish.
It was so easy to fall in love with Keaton and Slate. Keaton is focused, extremely so, and likes to have all of her ducks in a row on a daily basis, but she isn’t rigid. She may be a little awkward at times, but once she gets comfy, she’s snarky and sweet and is just chill. Slate is in full on bachelor forever mode, and doesn’t apologize for it, but while he has manwhore tendencies, he isn’t an asshat about it. He’s sweet, chill and truly cares about those he calls his own and will do anything for them.
Keaton and Slate’s journey was all kinds of sweet, smexy, awkward and just fun. Their friendship jumped off the page. They knew each other inside and out and truly liked who the other person was and enjoyed everything they brought to their friendship, which made it real easy to see how they could be more. And that more was all kinds of smexy, I mean nuclear level smexy and I’ll admit a lot of it came from how caring and sweet Slate was with Keaton and helping her out. But of course there had to be a roadblock pop up and this one was of the “Ouch…oh that hurt” variety, I flinched, I did. But I loved how they got back on track and where they ended up.
As I’ve already said, this was a fun one. It had everything you could want in a romance. It was funny, sweet, smexy and had just enough drama to keep things interesting. I loved Penny and Meera, and Gabby cracked me up. And that little sneak peek of Flirting With Forever definitely has me wanting it on my Kindle sooner rather than later!

A fun, sassy and super hot romantic comedy that has the perfect amount of brains and sexy to keep you engaged all the way through…
Weeeeeell…wasn’t this a lovely romantic comedy to cozy up to? Obviously, I knew I was getting myself some very sexy romance when I dove into Love Machine. I mean, the title sort of gives it away and then there is the fact that it is a Kendall Ryan book. Firstly, Keaton was just romantic gold. For a geek, this girl is sexy and sassy, and she just had me smiling the whole way through this book. Even when I wanted to whack her and Slate across the head with my kindle. What? I have serious aggro tendencies when faced with two made for each other characters who manage to be oblivious to the fact.
Anyway, the plot for this baby wasn’t by any means original, however, as always Ms. Ryan managed to give it her sprinkling of magic. I loved this book. It was amazing, the characters were fun and loveable. The writing as per usual was on point, and the chemistry was off the freaking charts! Man, if this book had legs, it’d be the definition of sex on legs! I could not put Slate and Keaton’s story down. It was addictive and thrilling. I love the sexcapade feel with the added bonus of the friends to lovers trope.
As characters, Keaton and Slate have this great likability. Not only that, but they had this pull that had me hanging on their every word and action. Seriously, I adored them…as a couple and individuals. I liked that although there is the whole will they won’t they fall in love and live happily ever after angst thing going on, they also have this enthralling banter and their friendship is so grounded and sweet. They really were just an amazing twosome to get embroiled with. Keaton is sweet, smart and sexy, but she’s also got this uncertain and bashful side to her that makes her approachable and empathiseable. Slate…well, I think he’s just divine. He is so freaking funny and he has a way with words…dirty and humorous. I just found the pair of them to be so perfectly suited, but not in a contrived way. If that makes sense?
All in all, this is one to cheer up any rainy day. Or just plain old day to be fair. This book will make you laugh and growl with frustration at times. It’ll make you hot under the collar ad wet…maybe we won’t get that personal. All I can say is that Love Machine was a joy to read and it’ll be an even greater reread under the sun with my cocktail in hand!
Keaton and Slate have been best friends forever. Well, around 10 years. She’s serious and a workaholic. He’s more a good time kind of guy after being in a disastrous relationship years ago that left him determined to not get involved seriously again. After discovering she sucks at sucking, Keaton asks Slate to give her some tips on being a better lover. I think we all know how that will end. It doesn’t take long for them to discover that there is a lot of chemistry between them and what started out as one friend helping another, became more. Thoroughly enjoyed this story.
OMG! I am fanning myself after reading this one. It took some getting used to Kendall Ryan’s writing style but that did not hinder me from devouring this book in just four hours from the time I bought it. I could not put it down. I was sucked in and I loved Keaton and Slate’s friendship. The two of them had some amazing chemistry and I loved seeing their relationship evolve into more than that. They were perfect together and I liked the natural progression of everything. I cannot wait to try another one of Ryan’s books!
Hot Diggidy Damn this book had me completely HOOKED!
I have not missed a Kendall Ryan book in a long time. Her covers always have me completely at grabby hands because they’re so HOT! And the story always go well with her covers.
Slate and Keaton were tremendously a cute couple in the end. I loved how it all started with them being best friends first and then turning into something more. Kind of reminded me of the movie Friends with Benefits, which I thought was cute.
I was 100% invested in this book, it was entertaining, fun, light and sexy in one whole sweet package.
I could never get enough of this author’s books.
A great story about Slate and Keaton, who have been best friends forever, try out an idea and it turns into so much more. I really enjoyed their banter and their chemistry was HOT. Andi Arndt and Sebastian York brought this story to life and are fantastic narrators in this funny and sexy storyline. A must listen!
I’m normally not a fan of friends-to-lovers story, but Love Machine was pretty awesome. Plus, I like that I didn’t feel like a was watching potential train wreck. This is one of my fear when it comes to friends-to-lover. As I started reading this story, I knew I was going to love Love Machine. I had so much fun reading this book.
We start off with Keaton. She knows her way around stuff that would make the rest of us nod off. However, when it comes around being around the other sex, she has no clue what to do. She comes up with the idea that her best guy friend can teach her to be a man magnet and be marvelous in the bedroom. Slate knows his way around the bedroom, and Keaton figures he would be the best candidate. It’s a little awkward, but it starts smoothing its way out fast. I love these two. They have been best friends forever, and they feel comfortable around one another.
I love the title, it made me laugh and actually think of the 70s song Love Machine by The Miracles. So, that made this book so much fun. Also, Keaton and Slate were pretty awesome together. Like I said I started reading the book I knew I was going to enjoy the story. Kendall Ryan grabbed my attention from the get go. If you are a friends-to-lovers kind of person you might enjoy the adventures Keaton and Slate. They have a lot of fun around one another and in the bedroom.

Friends-to-Lovers is where it’s at lately. I’m a sucker for a good romance where the two lovers are besties first. I absolutely adore it.
Adore.
It.
I mean, what’s not to love? And Love Machine? Sweet, kind, innocent Keatyn just wants to learn how to seduce a man. She knows she lacks game and she wants to make herself better in the bedroom.
What better person to help her than her bestie, Slate?
No one. No one is better than her bestie. Because Slate is fantastic. He’s sweet, attentive, and just the right amount of dirty in the bedroom.
*I listened to the audio of Love Machine. I have found that I am never disappointed with Sebastian York or Andi Arndt. They are pure audio gold and I am always happy to listen to a book narrated by them.
