THE NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLERThe one and only autobiography by the iconic Lucille Ball, hailed by TV Guide as the “#1 Greatest TV Star of All Time.”Love, Lucy is the valentine Lucille Ball left for her fans—a warm, wise, and witty memoir written by Lucy herself. The legendary star of the classic sitcom I Love Lucy was at the pinnacle of her success when she sat down to record the story of her … pinnacle of her success when she sat down to record the story of her life. No comedienne had made America laugh so hard, no television actress had made the leap from radio and B movies to become one of the world’s best-loved performers. This is her story—in her own words.
The story of the ingenue from Jamestown, New York, determined to go to Broadway, destined to make a big splash, bound to marry her Valentino, Desi Arnaz. In her own inimitable style, she tells of their life together—both storybook and turbulent; intimate memories of their children and friends; wonderful backstage anecdotes; the empire they founded; the dissolution of their marriage. And, with a heartfelt happy ending, her enduring marriage to Gary Morton.
Here is the lost manuscript that her fans and loved ones will treasure. Here is the laughter. Here is the life. Here’s Lucy…

Who doesn’t love Lucy? This book may make it even easier to love her. A fascinating summary of the life she lived and how it made her who she was.
It answered a lot of questions I had about Lucy and Desi.
It was an interesting book. Lucy is much different in real life than what we see on television. I enjoy reading about celebrities (movie, tv stars) and learning about what they are really like as opposed to what we think we know. At least, what they let us know in the book. I’ll probably read it again in a few years.
I enjoyed this book. Gave me insights into the life of the real Lucille Ball
Loved it
Lucy talking to us, sharing her memories and her heart giving us a behind the scenes look at television history, a bye-gone era and her life. Fascinating read.
Who doesn’t love Lucille Ball? Beautiful diary of her life. Loved it.
It was an accurate account of Lucy. I grew up with her on tv and I enjoyed the book.
Quite interesting since I recently found out she is a distant relative.
Showed the human side of a wonderful actress and comedian
Informative
Made me love Lucy even more.
I think it was a well-written, honest accounting of Lucy and Desi’s life together and their crazy rise to fame.
It was interesting to have a behind the scenes look at Lucille Ball in her early years and through her success on TV. I also found it fascinating to see those years from Ms. Ball’s perspective because I’ve read biographies of her that weren’t so kind to her. I know she was a perfectionist in her work and that probably didn’t translate well into a relationship.
Lucy had a wonderful life and worked hard for it It was nice to reminisce
Great book! Great to her life story in her own words.
Lucy’s life was very interesting. She writes about it with wit and honesty. I’ve read a lot about Lucille Ball, but this book told much more than I ever knew. She was a remarkable woman.
I love Lucy and it was so nice to read her story, even years after she died.
Interesting to read about Lucy written by her not a tell all book just very informative
It was touching, well-written, interesting and heart warming. It definitely felt like Lucy was talking to me and telling me her story. Great book to read to get her side of the story. If you’re not already a big fan, you will become one after reading this.
