THE NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLERThe one and only autobiography by the iconic Lucille Ball, hailed by TV Guide as the “#1 Greatest TV Star of All Time.”Love, Lucy is the valentine Lucille Ball left for her fans—a warm, wise, and witty memoir written by Lucy herself. The legendary star of the classic sitcom I Love Lucy was at the pinnacle of her success when she sat down to record the story of her … pinnacle of her success when she sat down to record the story of her life. No comedienne had made America laugh so hard, no television actress had made the leap from radio and B movies to become one of the world’s best-loved performers. This is her story—in her own words.
The story of the ingenue from Jamestown, New York, determined to go to Broadway, destined to make a big splash, bound to marry her Valentino, Desi Arnaz. In her own inimitable style, she tells of their life together—both storybook and turbulent; intimate memories of their children and friends; wonderful backstage anecdotes; the empire they founded; the dissolution of their marriage. And, with a heartfelt happy ending, her enduring marriage to Gary Morton.
Here is the lost manuscript that her fans and loved ones will treasure. Here is the laughter. Here is the life. Here’s Lucy…
“The comic actress in her own words…intensley moving.”—San Francisco Chronicle
“Filled with light and laughter.”—New York Times Book Review

Yes, I do love Lucy! How wonderful that her personal papers were found and her children shared her story with those whose lives she touched through stage and screen. I learned many things I never knew about her family life both as child and young woman pursuing her career, and her marrages. She was everything I hoped she would be. This book puts many rumors to rest about her life. I still love Lucy
I loved hearing about Lucille’s life. While she was well before my time, I grew up watching the reruns of her television series. This gives you a glimpse of what life was like for her.
There is so much more to Lucy than the funny, witty, memorable comedian. She was a regular woman with hopes, dreams, struggles, fears, and daily life just like any other woman in her era.
Reading this book was a wonderful experience for me.
This is a well written memoir. If you were a fan. Of “I Love Lucy”, you will enjoy her own account of her life up to and including that time. It was an easy and enjoyable read.
Really enjoyed reading Lucy’s Autobiography written by only her and that her daughter found the original manuscript years after Lucy had passed on. All the details were there from her youth, being with Ricky Arnaz for 20 years and all the paths and friends leading up to stardom. She was really a worker who put family first..a love bug.
The back story of I Love Lucy…
I love everything LUCY!. Tells story of what an amazing woman, mother, entertainer, comedian, stunt woman and overall genius she was.
Lucy, was one of the most wonderful women in our lifetime. This book was so very entertaining and real. If you get the chance to read this, take it.
very interesting book if you love Lucy
This completes the understanding of the greatest comedienne of all time!
Interesting to learn about the real life of my childhood idol
Lucy’s early life story. Interesting and fun to read. Written kindly.
I have always loved Lucy. This was a wonderful read about her life.
This is a must read rather you are a fan of Lucille Ball or not. Very informative and entertaining.
Loved reading about my favorit star from when I was a child and her life with Desi.
I had no idea Ms. Ball had such an extensive vocabulary. Found myself looking up more words than in any other casual book I’ve read. Since this was an autobiography, it was great learning about Lucy’s life. Only problem was i found myself going back to the book three times thinking I missed the end. I didn’t, she never gave the manuscript one.
The Lucy we all knew and loved on our TV and Movie screens was not the entire Lucy. I guess we knew that in a way, but I for one, didn’t want to know that her life wasn’t perfect until recently. I enjoyed Lucy’s honest, real assessment of her life.
Very interesting to get this view of Lucy’s life and experiences. I remember watching I Love Lucy when I was young and it was a fresh tv show. Now it is interesting to ready the behind the scenes details.
Just wish it would have covered more time – made me love Lucille Ball even more than I already did.
I love everything Lucille Ball and this was a great book!
