Loved the second book of the Love Lock Duet! Drew broke Pippa’s heart so she moved on. But it wasn’t the right move. Can Drew and Pippa find their way back to each other? This story was so good! Your heart will break for Pippa’s story. I love how S.M. West navigates her way through Pippa’s story without going into graphic details, but you still get the same feel and understanding of how Pippa found herself in that situation. Such a great story!!!!! Once I started reading it I couldn’t put it down.
First of all I recommend you read book one, Love Block, in this series if you haven’t already as Love Lock is the conclusion to book one.
There are plenty of emotions in this story but they are so worth it! You will fall in love with the characters Pippa and Drew, their lives, their relationship and the chemistry they have. The author has done a fantastic job of making this story seem so real and at times you will be on the edge of your seat waiting to see what happens. A wonderful ending!

5 HEARTBEAT STARS!! There were times my heart stopped beating and there were times it was beating so hard, I thought it was come out of my chest. I loved Love Lock….what a emotional beautiful ending to this duet. Pippa and Drew were lovely characters that you grow to love through their story. S.M. West gives us all the feels we romance readers look for in a book. You should definitely read this duet.
This is book two in this duet. You must read book one, Love Block first to get all of Pippa and Drew’s story. As their story continues things take a surprising and heartbreaking turn. I will say that you need to prepare yourself for the emotions that this book is going to inspire in you, but I’m not really sure that you can. Raw emotions, regrets, heart ache, drama, broken dreams, pain, angst and romance are blended into an extremely potent mixture that delivers punch after punch to your solar plexus. You will be left breathless and hurting as this couple struggles to overcome what at times seems like an insurmountable amount of obstacles while trying to finally get that richly deserved HEA. I loved this amazing book and highly recommend this truly remarkable duet.
So I gotta say this book did not start the way I wanted it to. I had so many ideas and they were shot down. I really enjoyed Drew and Pippa in the first one but honestly my heart broke for them. Pippa tried her best to move on but it turned out to be a very bad mistake. Drew never did move on. He dedicated himself to his job and fixing his cottage. The families were close and fences were mended but Pippa fell out of contact with them. When she comes back, there’s a lot to work out with the family and Drew. I found myself banging my head at times with these two. I realize they couldn’t just jump into bed with each other but there’s definitely still chemistry between them. They have some hurdles to jump but I’m glad they were able to overcome them and move on. These two are super cute together and I’m so glad I got to read their story! They truly care and will do anything to show that, that includes both of their families. This was a great book !
AMAZING! I was not able to put this book down! This follow up to Love Block was so much more than I thought it could be! I am so happy with Drew and Pippa’s hard-fought HEA! This book was an emotional rollercoaster that I did not want to end! FIVE STARS!!
When you decide to read a duet, you go into with the expectation of cliffhangers, heart-wrenching moments. Love and respect, maybe even deceit and betrayal. What you don’t expect is what happened here. Book one ended with a HFN, and maybe I should have sensed that that was too easy of an ending, and I would’ve been right.
Part two, takes us in a comp[letely different tack. I was in a whirl of confusion and all I could hear in my head was ‘What the heck is happening?’ So, I’m left with a very angsty, troubling story and with Drew having to prove his worth to Pippa again. Will it last this time?
Find out in Love Lock today, but remember, you need to read Love Block first as these books are NOT standalones.
This powerful story is testament to all women who find themselves in abusive relationships. Pippa has good friends and family and although her husband tried to isolate her from them one stood out and took it upon himself to make sure she got the help she needed. Drew was the man she loved but he used her and threw her away. He realized too late the remarkable woman he had and lost her but it will be him who gives her the strength to make it through her ordeal with her husband. An amazing story that touches your heart and have you cheering for Pippa and Drew.

Mind. Blown. What the heck happened here?!
I guess if the reader is going to have her heart ripped out, stomped on and ground to dust, it’s best if it happens in the beginning so the rest of the book can be spent putting said heart back together. Honestly, I had a clear picture of what I anticipated would happen in the second half of Drew and Pippa’s story, and I couldn’t have been more wrong! I’ve never been so happy to be so wrong, because this is so much better than I ever could have imagined! At the risk of repeating myself, mind blown! (Sorry, that’s a lot of exclamations, but I’m just . . .Gah.)
There’s not a lot I can tell you about this book without huge spoilers, but hopefully you’ll trust me. Drew and Pippa definitely get their HEA, and things all end well, but boy, oh boy, their road to forever is messy and rocky and painful. It’s also the most hard-won, poignant, delicious journey that will have you hanging on every word, and these two will own your heart and stay with you long after the last page.
In my review of Love Block, I said it was the best first half of a duet I’d read, and I think Love Lock deserves the award for best second half of a duet. These books break the mold and obliterate any notion you have of what a duet should be. Do yourself a favor and grab them both so you can escape into all things Drew and Pippa. And unless you really like extra angst, read them straight through since you won’t have to wait for the second half like I did. You really don’t want to miss these phenomenal characters and their riveting, heartfelt story.
*I read an early edition of this book freely and voluntarily, having made no commitment to provide feedback and receiving no compensation of any kind from any source.
is it worth a second chance
The story opens with Drew going to see Pippa just before she is about to walk down the aisle, to wed Brock NFL player. it is 2 years since he ended their relationship, choosing her brother’s friendship over her and threw them both in to despair. They have always loved each other and beneath it all, neither have let go.
He learns things about Pippa’s marriage that he is not happy with and sets out to help, but also seize the opportunity to repair the past and force the future. Pippa is sullen, withdrawn and ashamed due to keeping quiet about her abusive husband and has become distant from everyone including her family.
There is uncertainty, mistrust, challenges, changes and overall fear for this couple to overcome – a second chance is easy to take but desperate to get over if it fails, which Pippa is very aware of and Drew is determined to prove it is worth the risk.
Beyond the Pain
I read the blurb before digging into the second half of this duet. Flabbergasted. Shocked. Dismayed. Forlorn. Utter disbelief. None of these are strong enough to convey my feelings… and I haven’t even started the book yet.
Fast forward to me completing the book…
4.5 stars – So much of this installment is intense as S.M. West tackles the very heavy topic of domestic abuse. I appreciate that she doesn’t go into excessive detail – enough that there’s no doubt about what’s happening but not so much that I felt like I was reliving my childhood. At the same time, she doesn’t skirt around it but, after falling in love with Drew and Pippa in book one, this really broke my heart more than other books tackling this issue.
Even with this daunting, terrorizing topic, I didn’t want to put it down. It was well written, had breaks of levity and normalcy, and true love shined through.
BTW, you could read the second book without the first but, to truly appreciate the whole story, do yourself a favor and read Love Block before this book.
I listened to an author copy of the audio. The narration continued with Summer Morton and Stephen Dexter, whom I liked, into the final book.
Story: 4.5 stars
Narration: 4 stars
So, turns out the first book in the duet was a total fake out. A sweet, friends to lovers, best friend’s little sister love story. But when we open up with this book, it’s five years later, and Drew and Pippa are not where we would have expected. As the story unfolds, and we learn what happened since the days at the lake house, we are treated with a touching second chance romance that plays out in a perfect way for these characters. There is a lot between Pippa and Drew, and definitely not all of it is good, but Pippa is not in a good place, and Drew desperately wants to help her – even though he knows he made a big mistake with her years ago. How they find their way back to each other is a sweet, sexy story.
This is the second book in The Love Lock Duet. This is a great conclusion to Pippa and Drew’s emotional journey. I loved it! Stephen Dexter and Summer Morton did a fantastic job with the narration.
Love Lock is the conclusion of Drew and Pippa’s story. It starts five years after Drew left Pippa and broke her heart (and his). I loved this story full of emotions. No matter what happened in both their lives (a lot!), they just belong together. But the road to their happiness is a long one.
I loved how supportive their families were.
This review is based on the audiobook.
Again the narrators did a really great job! It was a pleasure listening to them.
Since I didn’t like the first book,I can’t say that I liked this one either.
After their breakup,Pippa got married to Brook and Drew is all alone pinning after her.
But Pippa’s marriage is not doing okay and she wants out.Upon finding out about that,Drew is ready to fight for Pippa’s love.
This book was nice, angsty, emotional and it dealt with some heavy stuff. The problem is,just like in the first book,I couldn’t connect with the characters. And that made this book not-so-good for me.
So we dive into book two and my head spun with what had transpired!!! I did not anticipate that at all. Then we go through the swirl of everything that happened between Love Block and Love Lock. My heart broke for Pippa in so many ways. But she is such a fighter. Then you have Drew. Honestly, I felt horrible for him to because in the long run, this did not have to happen but Drew had to make choices that would forever change the course of everything.
As a whole, this duet packs a punch with the emotions. There are moments I felt could have been expanded on because honestly, I wanted it to be a bit more in depth. I love seeing the build of these characters between the two stories but also how strong the connection is between Drew and Pippa. If you want a raw story, I highly recommend this duet!
After reading book one, I was surprised to find that Drew and Pippa were not together at the start of Love Lock. After Drew broke off their relationship, Pippa found herself married and in LA. Pippa’s marriage is far from happy and she comes back home to a Toronto to her family, with Drew’s help. Drew has never stopped loving Pippa and he makes his intentions to win her back very clear. This was a lovely story of learning to let go and love.

AWESOME Intense EMOTIONS!
Gaaahh! Talk about frustration filled angst. This awesome ending sure brought out one heck of a brutal emotional ride that at times I had to step away and just breathe. If I wasn’t frustrated irritated or holding my breath my heart was racing at a fierce pace all the while I just knew I needed to get to the end and was extremely content when I hit the last page. This was a great ending that I enjoyed and definitely a read not to be missed.
When I read this conclusion to the duet I was amazed at where S.M.West took it. It was a very well written story. It has a few surprises in it and not all of them are pleasant and may even bring you to tears. However, she brings you such strong characters that for a brief minute you may forget that sometimes story’s can have an element of reality to them.
What is going on with the characters is truly a way to get you to open your eyes that everything in your life or someone you knows life isn’t black and white. Life is filled with shades of gray and this book shows you that in so many ways. I was blown away with the way I felt about love and that doesn’t always lead down a happy path. That there are dips and curves that can make you have to proceed with caution even take a step back and think about your own needs. I don’t know if S.M.West had the idea of it maybe being a little therapeutic for people or not but I do know that I was able to look at situations a little more clearly.
I was happy to see where the characters ended up and how they got there. Well done to S. M. West!
