We love sweet romance stories like we love truffles and cordials, toffees and caramels – and when they’re bathed in a decadent coating of rich, creamy chocolate, they’re satisfying, delicious, and we can’t stop with just one. LOVE IS LIKE A BOX OF CHOCOLATES presents sixteen stories that capture both the sweetness and variety of a box of chocolates. Ranging from new loves to rekindled attraction, … attraction, these stories are filled with sweet meet-cutes, nutty quirks, and the unexpected richness hidden beneath the surface of the characters and their developing relationships. And all wound through with ribbons of chocolate.
Contains sixteen sweet stories by M. L. Buchman, Katherine L. Evans, Tami Veldura, Cheryl Wright, Adele Downs, Eliza David, Debbie Mumford, Donea Lee Weaver, Jadelynn Asher, Jennie L. Morris, Marianne Bayliss, Meyari McFarland (x2), Michele Dean, Neen Cohen, and Remi Carrington. Edited by Lyn Worthen

This was a very good collection of romances. They varied but all with an underlying theme of chocolate. Just like chocolate some were sweet, some bitter, some dark. But they are all very tasty.

One of the Rare Anthologies I Haven’t Liked
Usually, I adore anthologies. I like that they introduce me to new authors. They’re usually reasonably priced. If you don’t like one story, you can easily move on to the next.
My problem with this one is that I just kept moving on, never finding a story that felt good or was right to me. The first story turned me off almost immediately because the author made the heroine a statuesque bombshell the hero couldn’t ignore. I love romance and read a lot of it, but sometimes I just get so disgusted by the way that, even in fiction, external beauty is worshipped. In a book, we have a chance to make it so love and attraction are not so shallow, so I dislike it when authors take the typical way out. I was hoping for better in the next story, but the prodigious information dump that was somewhat confusing left me cold. I did actually finish the next story, but the buildup took too long and didn’t seem realistic, and the ending was unbelievable because it was so rushed. I think you get what I’m driving at with this anthology here, and I don’t need to detail any more stories. If you love romantic anthologies as I do, there are better ones out there than this one.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
Love is Like a Box of Chocolates
By Various authors
I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this book without bias or persuasion from the author.
4 out of 5 stars
There are approximately 16 contemporary romance short stories all involving chocolate. My favorite two happened to be Sweet Provence by Marianne Bayliss with Katie and Luc as the main characters and Sweet Temptation by Cheryl Wright with Tyler and Laura. It’s funny because I personally do not like chocolate but I loved all the stories here. The book was over 300 pages I believe worth the price. Happy reading everyone.
A great collection of sweet, clean romance stories you’re sure to love. They’re each well written and have a different theme and worth your time to sit down, read them and enjoy them. Highly recommend.
