When a hot tattoo artist has a chance encounter with his high school girlfriend, it’s hot and angsty and real. But will she give him a second chance?
I’m a world famous tattoo artist with a six month waiting list. Everybody’s begging me to put my ink on them. I’m the hottest shit in L.A., and can get any girl I want. So the last thing I expect is for Ash Carter to walk into my shop and blow me … walk into my shop and blow me off.
I’ve spent the last seven years screwing half the women in the northern hemisphere, but nobody could come close to the girl I left behind. Ash was my world. But in order to protect her, I had to let her go. It was the biggest mistake of my life. And now I’ll do anything to get her back.
It’s been seven years since we last spoke. Seven long years of trying to ignore the memory of her skin, her eyes, her incredible confidence. She is everything I remember. Still stubborn and feisty and sexy as hell. They say you should forgive and forget. But Ash can never forget what I did. And I can never forgive myself.
She’s left a permanent mark on my heart.
But even if she takes me back, will we be able to overcome the past? Will we be able to move forward towards our future?

Hot and steamy yet sweet love story. It’s good to read about people getting over past misunderstandings. Finding true love is hard enough without outside interference. Lots of explicit content for those who enjoy the details.
I loved Teo and Ashs amazing second chanceBeautiful emotional grabbed my heart from start to finish.Need more
Every review of mine begins with “I don’t know where to start” when I’ve read JD’s books. But I think this is my favourite.
The first page takes you immediately on a journey and sucks you in. I loved everything about Teo and Ash.
The laid back vibe, the easiness of their love. Seriously, while reading this, the song Slow Hands by Niall Horan was constantly playing in my mind and made the story complete.
It’s no secret I love tattoos and I could feel the atmosphere from Mandala, the tattoo shop. I want to get a tattoo there. Also the supporting characters were very present and I honestly can tell I felt a connection with them. I want a book with Ginger, Jenny and Kayla. It was also fun to read about Frankie and her Yoga club. I’m so glad business are great for her. Yes, I know it’s fiction, but when characters are “alive” and you want to be friends with them…then the story is well written.
I’m in love.xxx
Once again, JD delighted us with his great talent of creating vivid images, by use of words. Great story, lovable characters and a good plot. Have I mentioned the hot, sexy scenes?
Who doesn’t love a second chance romance that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy? It’s the perfect weekend read while you relax on the sofa with your favourite drink. Preferably something long and cold because you’re going need it as the ‘happy’ times are off the charts….just saying. We meet Ash and Teo, High School sweethearts. Teo let her down seven years ago and Ash never found out why and he never tried to contact her to explain why. He just walked away leaving Ash heartbroken. They meet by chance or is it fate? and they immediately reconnect. Of course, she wants to know why he let her down and he doesn’t want to tell her because he knows the truth will hurt her too much. He has only ever wanted to protect her. What a dilemma because we all know the truth will eventually come out and it does and it’s over. Or is it? Will Teo fight for his girl this time or let her go and live to regret it? Teo is delicious and Ash is adorable even the characters I was supposed to hate I found myself loving. The side characters are very entertaining and it’s extremely well written and funny at times. I did at one point wish Ash would grow a pair and just ask Teo what was going instead of hiding from all the confusion that surrounded their relationship. I did find Love & Ink a little light and wasn’t shocked by what had happened to our star-crossed lovers or the eventual outcome of their story. The Author is extremely talented and I would love to see something a little deeper, with characters who are more complex and a storyline that makes me think ‘what the?’ Would I recommend it? Absolutely, it’s just lovely.
It’s always a great day when JD announces he’s working on a new story. For weeks he gave a lil sneak peek here and there then, a smokin’ hot cover reveal. Then I think to myself “Hmm. How is JD gonna out do himself this time?”
Well all I can say is Teo and Ash are my favorite JD couple. The story, In true JD fashion, made you not want to put it down. I love how he made the characters so real and down to earth. I would love to read stories about the supporting characters, Especially Jenny and Eli or even the tattoo shop crew.
JD has a way with making you feel as though your on the outside lookin in in his stories. I can picture every detail in his storytelling. He’s like the best cinematographer of the mind, lol!
Read this one. You will get the feels, getting to know Teo and Ash. And you will love them both !
This one has got to be my favorite from JD. Once I picked this book up, I could not put it down. I am slowly coming out of a book hangover. I may look a fright but it was worth every minute. Would definitely recommend this book.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
Mandela Ink is the best SoCal has to offer. In high demand, it boasts the best artists, the best designs and that’s where Ash is headed. She’s getting a tattoo and she’s both nervous and excited. Ash expected the artistic, friendly and professional atmosphere. What she did not expect was him. Teo. And he’s about to give Ash her first tattoo. A tattoo that may take hours. Hours of touching and talking, acting as if they barely know each other. They know each other. They definitely know each other. They were inseparable up until the day Teo left. End of story. What about that? Has Teo nothing to say? Does Ash want him to say anything or is it better to let sleeping dogs lie?
Doesn’t Teo remember what they were? Inseperable…Teo and Ash against the world. What they meant to each other? Enough to keep their relationship a secret. All the promises they made that were broken? Teo remembers everything. He never forgets anything when it comes to Ash. No matter how many women, how much time has passed, he’ll never forget how he ruined the best thing he ever had. Teo knows what his leaving did to her and he has accepted never to be forgiven. But the past plays tricks on everyone’s memories. Her recollection, his…until it just doesn’t matter anymore. Teo assumes, to Ash, he’s just a long forgotten memory. He assumes she hasn’t thought about him every day, as he has of her. Well, he’d be wrong. Unresolved hurt and unspoken words may just be what halts this reunion and leave their past where it belongs-in the past. That doesn’t mean Teo is going to give up on the only person that ever mattered. He’s biding his time waiting for that one last chance even if it means confessing his real reason for leaving all those years ago. Secrets and interference plagued their first chance at forever, will the past repeat itself in their uncertain future as well?
OMG I LOVED THIS BOOK ! AMAZING FROM THE BEGINNING TO THE VERY END ! GRIPPING DIALOGUE WITH AN AMAZING STORYLINE KEPT ME INTRIGUED ! TIMING IS EVERYTHING !
WITH A CHANCE MEETING THEY RECONNECT AND FATE BINDS THEM ! INTENSE CHEMISTRY THAT NEVER FADED BUT INSTEAD TURNED INTO RAW, UNRESTRAINED PASSION ! ! ! A DEFINITE MUST READ ! ! !
Love & Ink by JD Hawkins is an emotionally charged, sexy, second chance love story that I LOVED!!! One thing I’ve come to love about a JD Hawkins book is the way he’s able to grab ahold of me and keep me captivated.
I’m a HUGE fan of second chance romance. And I knew going in that JD would tell Teo and Ash’s story PERFECTLY, and he did just that!!! Teo and Ash see each after 7 years, but that sizzling chemistry is still there. They both can’t deny the strong attraction they feel for one another. But is Love enough? Can it overcome the secrets that Teo hid from Ash?
Love & Ink was a FANTASTIC read that I couldn’t put down. I ADORED everything about this book. I can’t wait to read more from Mr Hawkins in the future
Love and Ink is the lastest from JD Hawkins that shows just how good of a Romance Writer he is. This is a great second chance romance about two high school sweethearts driven apart by circumstances that only one knows why and the other needs answers to. To complete opposites, Teo and Ash after years apart reconnect through a chance meeting.
JD has written from both POV’s and has done an excellent job on both. His attention to detail on both are seen in his writing and the way the characters come across as you read about both of them. His females characters are very strong and easy to connect with, while the males are all still alpha and hot just how we like them.
You know when you start Love and Ink that it’s going to take hold and draw in. The intrigue behind the reasons why things have happened the way they have and the paths that both Teo and Ash have taken to get to where they are now. The angst, the heartache, the love and all the other feelings in between are all written perfectly in their story to make this such a great book to read.
I really must say that JD Hawkins has become a favourite of mine and has done a wonderful job with Love and Ink. This is a book you can sit back and enjoy and at the end feel content and smile.
JD Hawkins does it again with Love & Ink – a wonderful book about love and second chances.
When Ash walks into her local tattoo parlor finding the one person she least expected Teo the famous tattoo artist with a waiting list 6 months long and is perceived as the best in the business, who just happens to be her ex-boyfriend who left her on the corner the night of their prom with no explanation. Her first love and the reason she is still single 7 years later.
Teo is floored when Ash walks into his store – he has never gotten over her and he has been all around the world trying. Now with Ash back in his life more beautiful than he remembers he knows he will never leave her again, but the secrets he is keeping could tear them apart.
JD Hawkins always does a fantastic job with his character development and dialog and Love & Ink is no exception. Told in dual POV’s we get to see both sided of this story which I love. The secondary characters are fantastic and definitely bring an additional depth to the story. The conflict was well thought out – if I had a slight issue it would be that we never really got to see the resolution of the conflict – it jumps ahead in the future where all things are resolved. Other than that I loved the story and Teo and Ash.
