Alexandria Ricci knew she stood no chance of finding love. Too many people knew of her history as the illegitimate first child of her mother. No reputable man would have her, so she’s resigned herself to the role of devoted aunt to her sister’s children and struggles each day to cobble together a meaningful existence. And yet, all her work crashes down around her the day her brother-in-law … introduces her to his cousin, Gabriel. He steals her breath the instant she lays eyes on him and she finds herself unable to think of anything else. For the first time in her life, her heart begs her to hope. Could it be possible? Can she find a way to win the heart of Gabriel Peretti?

A romantic delightful story of Alexandria, who was born on the wrong side of the blanket, hoping for love but feeling it would never come from a reputable man.
But then fate steps in it seems in the form of her brother in law’s cousin, Gabriel. He had already seen her portrait and was a little in love with her then, but when he saw her. Could she care for this sweet, charming man?
I really enjoyed this story as I have everything I have read by this author. Cannot wait for more!
This story is a regency romance that takes place in Italy. Alexandria feels she will never find love because she is an illegitimate child, therefore no reputable man would consider her appropriate for marriage. Alexandria therefore devotes her life to being a devoted aunt to her sister’s children. When her sister’s husband’s cousin Gabriel comes to visit it is love at first sight for them. Will Alexandria finally find true love? There are a number of twists and turns but an enjoyable read.

I have recently been introduced to Ms. Sommers’ books and I have really enjoyed reading them. This is the second book in the Love in Tuscany series. This is a beautifully written story about mistrust and misunderstandings and how they can affect a growing relationship. Alexandria is the older illegitimate child of her mother and as a result of this she has had to endure the shame of this distinction and scorn of eligible bachelors. She begins to lose hope of ever finding love until she meets Gabriel. They start to form a beautiful relationship, but misunderstandings lead to hurt and mistrust. I found myself totally immersed in this story and rooting for Alexandria and Gabriel all the way through. A lovely story that I really enjoyed reading. I’m looking forward to the next book in this series!

Alex is in a good place personally, ready and able to invest in a relationship. Gabriel on the other hand struggles to express himself clearly, often leading others around him to be constantly guessing about his motives. Interesting story
The first half of the book took forever for me to get through but the second half just flew. I can’t say I felt any real emotional attachment to either the h or H. I have read other books by this author and enjoyed them so this may just be a one off on my part. There is a previous book in this series and it might help to have read it to understand Alexandria better. The blurb says something about her being the illegitimate daughter but if it is mentioned in the book itself, I missed it. It is just an okay read.

Alexandria resigns herself to running the estate and spoiling her sister’s baby. When her sister’s family visits and brings along a cousin, Alexandria finds her ideas changing. She and Gabriel are instantly attracted; however, with his blundering, she doesn’t quite know where she stands. The characters are quite lovable and form an enchanting story.

I was a tad surprised that the story took place in Italy rather than Regency England as I’m used to reading. That did make it a little more interesting in that there were not the usual restrictions of the “ton” to follow there as there were in most Regency Romance novels. I liked that the cousin of her sister’s husband had become infatuated with her just by her portrait and that he was just as unsure about whether she could care for him as she was about him. All in all it was a very pleasant story and I was pleased to read it.

Love In The Light by Karen Sommers ARC Review By 6/1/20
How romantic. Lucas cousin, Gabriel, met and fell in love with with a small portraiture of his cousins sister by marriage. He was anxious and a bit nervous to meet her but she was everything he dreamed of and more. When Alexandria meets Gabriel for the first time, she is stunned and speechless. All she can do is stare at the beautiful man before her very eyes. Gabriel fumbles and missteps his way toward his goal and even botches up his proposal. Actually he never even used the words “Will you marry me”. It was quite entertaining and funny. A short sweet story that will entertain the romantic for several hours.

I really enjoyed Gabriel and Alexandria’s story. These two suffered through a lot of miscommunication to find their ending. It all made for an interesting story. I look forward to the next book in the series.

Gabriel loves Alexandria and wants to marry her and he is going to move to France with her but a communication error changes everything. I really enjoyed reading this book which is set in Italy, in a castle. The descriptions of the characters are wonderful and the story kept me wondering if true love would win out in the end. Definitely recommend.
