He was everything I should avoid…A silent lion in the dark; watching, studying, devouring me without a single touch. His voice sent shivers up my spine, stopping my heart inside my chest as if he controlled the oxygen it needed to beat.I danced for him, because he demanded it. I lied for him, because he wanted it, even though I knew a single lie could get me killed. He told me I was too pretty … told me I was too pretty for this world, that there were things he could do for me. His eyes, the way they wander over my body, it makes me feel things I never felt before.
Feelings that have no place here. Feelings that don’t exist in my world.
I couldn’t ignore what I felt, and decided to risk my life to ask him for help.
But I was a fool wishing on fallen stars.
When the smoke clears, I’m able to see him for what he truly is…
And it’s not the hero I wanted him to be.
How could I ever find love in the dark?
*This is a standalone dark romance, and may contain material that might make some uncomfortable. All The books in the Dark Flower Series can be read on their own, in any order. This book has a guaranteed HEA and is not a cliffhanger.

This is the second book in this series. It is a standalone but does have some characters and scenarios that carryover from the 1st book. I’d do like Leah Holt’s characters. This one features the anti-hero from the first book. But gives you more of his background. He is the perfect person to rescue the young woman in the story. All she has known is pain and misery. Can she forgive his part in her story. You will have to read it for yourself. I do recommend this book for anyone who loves Dark stories.
He is dark and should be avoided but she is drawn to his darkness. She even lies for him but she gets pulled in even further than she should. Is she too far in to escape? Will be allow her to go? What is it all about? Follow them to find out

5 couldn’t put down stars!!! Straight to the favorites list!!
This is book two in the “Dark Flower” series. It is a stand alone but you will catch a familiar name or two if you read book one, “Pushed” (FYI right now “Pushed” is FREE).
OMG I absolutely love this book!! I am a big fan of this authors. And I have almost all of her books and this is my FAVORITE (I have not read all of them so their may be a couple more favorites coming as well)!! I just finished another book about three hours again and I figured why not read a little before I fell asleep… Well it’s 4am and I finished the damn book!! Ahhh I am telling you this is good!!
This is a story of one strong ass woman and stone cold killer. Poor Berlin was kidnapped at 9 years old and from that moment on everything was awful. Like the worst of the worst. Fast forward 13 years or so and your girl is still a little spit fire. She has fought every day of her life. And then one day a sexy beast of a man (Salt) walks in and flips her shit sideways. Like she catches a beating over this guy and all. But their story doesn’t end there…
“Don’t hide, you don’t need to. You’re beautiful, too beautiful for this world. You’re like a lost angel that took a wrong turn.”
I am so in love with Berlin and Salt. Though I want to burn a whole entire country down for Berlin. I want to do evil things for this girl. My heart hurts. And to know girls go through this in real life makes everything we struggle with so minuscule. This book tore me up.
The author sucked me into this world. I could see the wallpaper. I felt dirty. I felt hope. I felt anger. Damn this book was good.
This does have some triggers. So if you can not do dark please don’t start here. But I don’t think anything was so dark you have to question if you should keep going. It was like a movie. I felt like this could be someone’s real life. I think this would be an excellent movie. Netflix make this happen!! This is a MUST read!!
**I received this book as an ARC from Leah and in return gave my honest review**
Great story line and characters, Awesome !! Loved this book. The storyline was so interesting that it had me turning pages in anticipation of where it would lead . I was very intrigued with the characters in the story. Simply awesome . Definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a great read. I would recommend to others. Worth the read and the money!

This is the second book in the Dark Flower Series, but can be read as a stand alone. Berlin/Ash witnessed unspeakable horror as a child, was kidnapped, and groomed to be a sex slave. Salt/Bentley sees her in a strip club and wants her. They’re strange, dark relationship begins. They have more history than either of them knows. Berlin’s soul should be destroyed, but she is one strong, resilient woman. I liked how the book developed and the twists and turns were unexpected. Well paced, well written…..well done!!
I wanted to love this book, the blurb told me that this would be a book in the genre i love and it would be amazing. For me, this missed the mark. I could not feel a thing for the characters, they were two dimensional throughout.
yes, whilst i can see that the author wrote our girl to be strong and defiant and as much as she could in the situation she found herself in, i just could not buy it. So of course i suspend belief because it’;s fiction and that’s what you do when you want to connect with the work you are reading.
I don’t want to put anyone off the book, if you are into dark romances that have are not so dark and won’t give you nightmares or cry or leave you with a book hangover then this will hit that spot.
Berlin our female lead who witnessed her mother’;s death and is ultimately kept as payments for her father’s debts ( due to the bad guys not finding him) as a nine year old, she gets given to Virgo who deals in flesh, drugs etc all the bad stuff you would expect. She is still under his thumb at 22 but this time she has gone through from the descriptions a great deal, but she clings onto a shard of something which makes Virgo not willing to part with her.
Enters Salt, a man who for the first time gives her tingles, but he warns her that he is Bad. He is worse than her boss Virgo, if she thinks dancing on stage and giving the men in the back room what they pay for is bad, he is worse. Of course, Salt is intrigued by this woman, the one whose eyes show no fear of his threats. But he is there for a job, and this girl is distracting him.
Cue the push and pull of these two as the job that Salt has come to conduct may put Berlin in more trouble than she knows.
My issue with this as it’s with most books of this sort is that none of these women are seeing bloody psychiatrist in the HEA stage, i mean who won’t be and if they aren’t in need :they are self medicating.. drugs, drink etc. Not a nice neat ending like this is supposed to portrait.

Wow this book sucked me in! You know that feeling you get when you are watching a great movie and you don’t want to miss any part of it because it’s so good. That’s how I felt reading this book. I was an emotional wreck and I have to say I loved it! Berlin and Salt are complete opposites but they were perfect for each other. Dark, twisted and perfect! This is a fantastic read and I couldn’t put this book down until the last word. I highly recommend this author and her books to everyone.
Berlin has lived a rough life with her family being taken away from her and given to an evil man at the age of 9. Bentley has just taken over the family business after his father’s death. Once he sees Berlin he wants to give her things. Can a monster save this beauty? A dark, delicious read to devour.

4 1/2 Stars
The only reason why this Dark Romance was enjoyable was the way the author wove this tale. Even though the events in Berlin’s life were so horrible, her POV and inner voice showed so much strength, grit, and tenacity that I was convinced into thinking that she would be okay emotionally and physically.
In reality, I don’t know if someone could survive and go on to live a healthy life after experiencing a life of torment and abuse like Berlin did. The evil demon in the form of Virgo was so twisted that I wanted him to suffer way more than he did in the book.
Bentley and Berlin were able to find relief in each other despite their shared back history that is revealed at the end.
A dark and compelling romance.

This is a dark read with complex characters. It goes from being dark and twisted to beautifully passionate. These changes alone are enough to capture the readers attention. The story-line is wonderful and so very well written. Again though, this is a dark romance and so it has scenes and topics that some may not enjoy reading!

I am voluntarily giving my honest review of this ARC. Berlin, a.k.a. Ash, was nine years old when her world went to hell in a handbasket. Her father had been away for a long time, only receiving letters that grew fewer and farther between the longer he was gone. One day her mother told her she was no longer allowed to read the letters nor talk about her father, EVER. Then she came home from school one day to be told they had to leave immediately and no one must know where they were but before they could get into the car, three men came. Her younger brother and sister were taken away in one vehicle and she was taken away in another as her mother lay in the yard, killed by a gun shot.
Bentley, a.k.a. Salt, was born into the family business of protection and hitman. His father ran the business until his recent death, now it’s his turn and things are going to be different. Even though he is the darkness even evil fears, there are rules about who and what kind of job they will do. Two damaged individuals who’ve had no control over the darkness in their lives have somehow, against the odds, found each other.
Have you read “Pushed,” book one in the “Dark Flower” series? Then you know what type of dark world Leah Holt has created. If you haven’t, it’s not required to read this one as it can be read as a stand alone, but the back story for some details makes it even better. Her characters are so easy to relate to, even if it’s just in your imagination, that this story will suck you in and keep you on an emotional rollercoaster from start to finish. It’s gripping, suspenseful, emotional and heart warming. All with a happily ever after that is well earned. Congratulations.
I cried and I suffered a lot reading this one.
What Berlin went through it is just heart breaking!
And Bentley is as dark as everything that she knew, but, at the same time, is her last bit of light.
Loved it

OMG Berlin and Bentley’s is dark and twisted from start to finish, There attraction undeniable that made there chemistry explosive. Cant say any more with out revealing to much, A must read, I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy. Another awesome story Leah.
This is my first book by Leah so wasn’t really sure what to expect going in but oh wow how have I not found her before now?.
Berlin is stripped from the life that she knows in the most heartbreaking way being thrown into a world of your worst nightmares, that is until the man who first lerks in the shadows gives her a glimpse of light within darkness.
“I want you to hear me,I want you to know I can give you things.i want you to understand that I am the power, the muscle, and the voice that will be heard.”
A dangerously dark read that will hook you from page one.
Think its safe to say Leah Holt will be on my tbr list from now on.
**Arc generously given for honest review**
An amazing, soul consumingly dark read that will have you hooked from the first page.
Like most of Leah’s books they have you wanting to read quickly because you know how hot and steamy it’s going to get but at the same time you want to read it slowly and feel the burn that her characters bring, this book for me was no different, I resisted the urge to plow though it ( no pun intended) to let the characters slowly crackle and burn under my skin and my god did they.
This read is worth more than 5 stars
Leah Holt did an amazing job on this book! It’s full of emotions and dark, but so well written! I couldn’t stop until I finished it! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
What a amazing dark read that will have you pulled in from the very first page to the very ending. This is the second book of this series.
Explosive!!! I was truly impressed by this story by Leah Holt. I have read many by this talented author and this may be one of my favorites now. The intensity between Berlin and Bentley is off the charts and the chemistry is delicious. Berlin has had it pretty terrible since she was a child but she is tough and even though she struggles she finds her way. Bentley is dark and sexy, his life is not ideal yet he has a soft spot for Berlin and even thought they couldn’t be more different they are perfect together. This dark read is definitely a page turner and one I definitely recommend.
Oh my God! It was so amazing I can’t even review it. I felt so bad Berlin and my heart broke so many times over and over in the course of this book. The compassion Salt had for her was so beautiful. If you have not started this series, you need to. I’m dark, intense, intrigue, steamy and beautifully written. I cannot wait for the next book.
Love In The Dark is a romance that is dark, twisted, consuming and one that will have you on the edge of your seat. Berlin and Bentley’s story is not your typical boy meets girl and they fall in love. Theirs is a path filled with shadows, monsters and choosing the better of the two evils. A book that will have you falling in love with their darkness.
