Perfect light hearted pandemic book for the current pandamic
What I thought would he a cute read because of the times were in ending up being very slow and boring. Funny and cute but the author took to long getting to the heart of the book.
I loved this beautiful love story and it so very relatable. The characters were all simply wonderful.
I recommend this book so much! This was my first time reading this author, but it won’t be my last.
This book was very appropriate for the times. It was fun to read and offered an uplifting view of the pandemic.
Interesting background stories of people handling the Pandemic
Charming and sometimes laugh out loud…. based around the current virus issues we all face. I enjoyed it!
Very boring to read right now because it gives detailed explanations of life during the lockdown. It might be interesting to read in the future, for people who weren’t alive (or too young to remember).
It was just ok
Hmmm I’m rather undecided about Love in Lockdown. Honestly I think it’s a bit too soon for me to have read any books set in the (yet) unresolved world of the covid pandemic, and I found myself at one point wondering if I should even finish because it was making me anxious. I’m glad I did finish, because ultimately Love In Lockdown was a sweet book… but maybe just not for me.
Overall the story was solid, but it just felt unrealistic in certain details such as, how, in 2020, could two people who live above-and-below each other never have seen each other OR figure out how to look each other up online to see what the other looks like. Also I kept wanting to shake-up the characters a bit, with some doom-and-gloom “IT”S NEVER GOING TO END!!!!” type speech.
So, yeah, It might be too soon.
Overall well written, if a little too simplistic. I might check out Chloe James’ future books after she gets a few done, this one just felt like something was missing.
Love in Lockdown by Chloe James a five-star read that will capture you. This was easily one of my favourite reads this year, and I will be honest with you, I almost didn’t read it as I was kinda fed up with lockdown, but I am so glad I did, this had me laughing it had me crying, and I mean ugly crying with raking sobs that had my dog coming over to check on me. I don’t know why I identified with this story as much as I did, but my goodness it got me right in the feels, this dealt with so many different things and it dealt with them so well. I adored how this story brought the realities of being part of the young shielding group, my husband was told to shield, and I am a key worker so we have had to get creative, I lost my stepbrother to Epilepsy so I know how it can change lives in the blink of an eye, this story will touch so many lives and I really hope that everyone reads it, it deserves to bring a positive light to lockdown. Jack and Sophia are great characters, but they are only two there are so many others that will captivate you and have you looking back at lockdown with rose tinted glasses, remembering the good moments, the moments that matter.
