I hired her to fix my company, to bring Marks Lingerie back to life. I didn’t expect her to become my friend. I didn’t expect to fall in love with her.The first rule of business is to never touch your employees. I think there is another rule about not falling for your best friend – a rule against imagining the curves of her body, or the way her breathing would change if I pulled down her panties … her panties and unzipped my pants.
Now, I can’t wait any longer. I’m tossing out the rules.
Damn the company.
Damn our friendship.
Damn my fears.

If I was a man (I’m not) my balls would have been so blue when I read this book that I genuinely believe I could be a Smurf descendant. Call me Smurfette
It is Alessandra at her total, absolute best. I’m bouncing, jumping, so, so, so happy. I freaking love Trey and Kate. Everything about them.
Blurb states that Trey Marks owns a lingerie business. It isn’t working, knickers aren’t selling. He recruits Kate Martin to revitalise the Marks brand. And hello bones, thongs and peepholes. I want all the knickers, all the bras and I want them now!!!!!!!!!!!
This book – gah! Frustration! How can I even review it? THE PEN! Hot scene alert – you will need new knickers!
Read at your peril because you will squirm and clench and throb and whelp but please, please read it so we can be Smurftastic friends forever.
First book I’ve read of Alessandra’s and I really enjoyed her writing style. I thought the characters were interesting and quirky though frustrating at times. But their difficult journey was a rewarding one in the end.
I think I’ll begin by saying I read ‘Hollywood Dirt’ first. I adored that book. And while I enjoyed this one, it lacked some of the fun, wittiness, and romance of ‘Hollywood Dirt’.
Well edited.
Kate in unhappy in her current job, and interviews with the struggling Marks Lingerie. Landing her dream job seems like a dream come true. The only real drawback? There is a simmering chemistry with her new boss, Trey Marks. In the beginning, her engagement to Craig keeps things work only. Months into the working relationship, Craig is let loose, but work still keeps things relatively platonic. A new relationship for Kate, and one for Trey, and things seem to be simmering at status quo. The top blows off the kettle when Kate’s beau asks Trey for his blessing in proposing to Kate. For Trey, that is a hard NO. But, Trey has had a little kink in his life. Will Kate be able to accept it? Will Trey be willing to leave it behind if she can’t? Will they be able to have love and work?
This is definitely a slow simmer of a relationship. The story spans about 3 years, covering relationships, friendships, business triumphs, and personal losses. Trey and Kate do an admirable job keeping things work appropriate. But, the chemistry just won’t stay inert. Enjoy.
All I can say is, that this is by far the most most sexual tension I have ever read. This was the first book I read by Alessandra, and OMG, I fell in love with her writing! Incredibly hot read!
Spoiler alert – I have pet peeves and turn offs in plot lines. One of my major turn offs occurred in Love in Lingerie. It didn’t stop me from finishing the book, but it definitely affected my enjoyment.
Trey and Kate (our hero and heroine) are coworkers/friends the entire story line, essentially. It is important to note that they are not together during the “incident.” But even though they are not technically together, it is obvious they should be. Both want each other but aren’t together because of “reasons.”
And this is why Trey’s behavior feels like such a betrayal. They were clearly meant for each other, and yet he has sexy times with another woman.
Ugh.
Just no.
Book ruined.
Trey is not one to mince his words, “I do want to eff you. I think we’ve all been clear on that for quite a while now.” Trey can give out some nice compliments, “you’re evil,” he groans, his eyes between my legs. “I thought you looked good in my lingerie but eff.” He drawls out the last word, his eyes shameless in their perusal. “I’d rather you work naked.” I really liked this book, loved Trey.
3.75 stars
This started of really good to me and reading Hollywood Dirt as I was reading this book had me very excited. But I just didn’t really like this book that much. Don’t get me wrong, the story is good and the writing is excellent, but I didn’t care that much for the characters or their relationship.
The book would be perfect except for the un-romantic ending of them having a child. There goes the romance! But, except for that, it’s hot, romantic and a fun read.
Took forever for the characters to get together, but a good plot line
What did I read? I have read a handful of Torre’s books. Each one has been unique and varying in genre. Torre definitely has an uncanny talent with words and stringing them together in a way that just leaves me in awe.
Those that follow my reviews know I am not usually a huge romance reader. The romance books I do choose to read are usually books that I fall for. This book is no exception to that. This book blew me away. It wasn’t overly emotional. There weren’t any major plot twists. But it had so much to it, I couldn’t help but to fall in love.
Everything in this book was spot on. I loved the characters. They were so well developed. Their relationship from start to finish was pure perfection. The pacing in romance books is usually key for me. The pace of this story was beyond perfect. The slow build. The chemistry. The back and forth pull. It all came together perfectly.
I highly recommend this book no matter what genre you typically read. I can’t seem to sing high enough praise for this book.
Love in Lingerie is a friends to lovers story that will steal your heart. Kate is hired by Trey as a creative designer to save his struggling Lingerie company. From the start the chemistry between them is undeniable and Torre does an amazing job with the character development. We get a very real look into the journey from boss and employee to friends and eventually lovers. The slow burning fire builds for years with chemistry that is angsty, humorous, powerful, compassionate, real, heartbreaking, and extremely sexy. If Trey Marks was Lingerie he would be leather and chains. This story stole my heart and has become my favourite Alessandra Torre book to date.
