Naomi Winters will be forty—soon-ish—and she’s only been with one man. One night. One time. Long ago. She believes everything happens for a reason, and the universe spoke about Nathan Ryder.Nathan Ryder isn’t the same man who hightailed his bike out of Green Valley eighteen years ago. As a rule breaker, women are one area he acts a fool. Case in point…the local librarian. He can’t get a read on … a read on her, but she’s one risk he’s willing to take. Again.
What do an eccentric librarian and a sexy silver biker have in common? More than you think.
The due date on their love might not be expired after all.
‘Love in Due Time’ is a full-length, contemporary romantic comedy, can be read as a standalone, and is book #1 in the Green Valley Library series.

I loved this book..so different…so much is added to every character
I liked how the heroine worked through her emotional challenges.
Some books written to compliment another author’s world are better than others. This is one of the better ones. The author blended her story very well with The Winston Brothers series.
The story takes place in their home town. Much of there story centers around their mother’s favorite place, the library. There are many secondary characters that pop in and out of the story. The author did a wonder job of keeping consistent with past stories.
Naomi works as a librarian and is accepted by patrons. Her problem comes from others. Her past has brought her to being a Wiccan. She is misunderstand. She is different. She is also the woman that Nathan wants, just like he wanted her 18 years ago before both of their lives came crashing down.
Naomi and Nathan’s story is a fantastic second chance romance. They both have things to learn. They both need to find forgiveness and acceptance. They both have situations making it a challenge. The reader gets a happily ever after but the author does a beautiful job making the reader and characters work for it.
It was a quick, light and easy read.
quick read, i enjoyed it very much
It was the first time reading the works of this author and I was impressed by her story-telling talent. The characters were relative, not to mention the story-line. Kudos, the job was well done. Thank you.
Loved reading Love in Due Time. As a retired librarian, I noted how accurate L.B. was talking about all the changes in libraries including closing them. It can be hard to change with the times but also exciting. Great story. Loved the Dewey references. Great characters. Thank you so much for writing this and for your friends input to give the book a real feel.
A neat storyline. First book I have read in a while where the character was Wiccan. I love how she stuck to who she was through the whole story. Great sappy ending too.
I dont understand why I need to purchase the book on another platform even though its free I feel like I should be able to just tap a book thats free and it will let me read the book and it seems like a very intriguing book even though i havent read it
I absolutely love these over 40 stories. Dunbar has set the bar high for any other author that may be writing about this age group.
Love in Due Time has cute library references as Naomi is a librarian. Love in Due Time is a story about Naomi and Nathan. Their love story is more of a could have been story. But the second time they meet makes them both ready for what should have been! I love the back story of Naomi and Nathan.
Dunbar’s stories make me laugh, sigh and want to read more. Highly recommend reading this story, or any of Dunbar’s stories.
This book is AMAZING. I jumped into the series without reading any other books. This is book 6 in a multi-author series. L.B. Dunbar writes book one and now number six. I honestly had no idea what I was diving into when I picked up this book. I know I like L.B.’s writing style and have truly enjoyed a few of her other books.
When introducing the main female character (Beverly/”Bee”), you are put off by her actions and behaviors. You can feel the loneliness and pain radiating from this character as you move into the book. As we descend into her life, actions and the introduction of the lead male, you begin to see why Bee is the way she is and how/when she realizes she has been living at the bottom of a downward spiral. She has been complacent for way too long and dependent on a loyal, loving daughter that she never bothered to truly live a meaningful life. Bee’s transformation awakens the strong desire that she wants to live a better life and Jedd may be her salvation in getting that life. Jedd truly seems to be a kind soul looking for his landing strip in this life as well. His challenges have not left him behind instead shows how one can persevere in the worst of circumstances. The changes that he is able to inspire in Bee are beautiful and realistic. Throw in some drama with family and friends from the past and L.B. spins a fantastic tale.
I look forward to reading more about the characters in this series and have already purchased book one – Love in Due Time. I am looking forward to catching up with Bee’s sister Naomi. Great job, L.B. Dunbar! I received this book as an arc and have given my honest opinion.
Refreshing that Hero and Heroine were middle-aged. Some touching, romantic aaah moments towards the end of the book.
🙂
Omg. I loved it! Nathan & Naomi were interesting all around. But some of these lines were priceless like sweetmothertruckercheeseontoastbuckler!! I freakin lost it. I love how she writes.
4.5 Stars
This is the first book in the Green Valley Public Library series. I’m already hooked and eagerly awaiting the next book. I loved Naomi so much. She’s an interesting character with a big heart. I feel bad for some of what she has gone through and it made me happy to see Nathan in her corner. Nathan had me iffy about him in the beginning, but he quickly changed my mind. His youngest daughter is so adorable. This book will suck you and you won’t want to put it down. The thing I loved most about this book is how Nathan accepts Naomi for her and that warmed my heart. I highly recommend this one!!
I loved this story so much! The characters, Naomi and Nathan are older, almost forty and over forty, which I prefer in romance these days. And they are so tender and amazing with each other even though both of their heartbreaks from years ago are tangled up in each other. OH! How the past can grab a hold! Their pasts try to bury them, try to make them believe they don’t deserve love, that they don’t deserve each other, but luckily they are stronger together and give us a tender, beautiful love story with a happy every after. I also loved how most of the drama was from outside sources while they are falling back in love and getting to know each other, and that they take care of and with each other. Just a lovely story full of riches!
“Full Circle”. This is a creative, entertaining and emotional second chance romance between Nathan a blue collared biker and Naomi a conservative, repressed Wiccan librarian.
There is plenty of humor (great one liners), self recrimination and guilt to overcome .
Naomi and Nathan help each other overcome deep guilt from what occurred the night they ment 18 years previously, then they helped each other heal and find themselves worthy of love.
This is a departure from the steamy 40+ stories that LB Dunbar has recently written – but in a good way – a deeply emotional way. I absolutely loved it and am looking forward to her next story in the series.
Love in Due Time (Green Valley Library Book 1) by L.B. Dunbar is a second chance, contemporary romantic comedy told in first person, dual POV. It’s book one in Smartypants Romance’s Green Valley Library series, and can be read as a complete standalone.
When Naomi Winters and Nathan Ryder met, they shared a wild, passionate night. It was the best night of their lives, but it was also the worst night of their lives. The events of that night forever changed them both. They never saw each other again.
Eighteen years later, fate has brought Naomi and Nathan back into each other’s orbit. What will happen when the truth comes out about what really happened that night? Will they be able to move beyond the past to build a future together? Read the book to find out.
I enjoyed Nathan and Naomi’s love story. It was funny and sweet with a touch of suspense. I liked both main characters and enjoyed the fact that they are older and close to my age. The story fits in very well with the Winston Brothers series, and the author did a great job of seamlessly incorporating many familiar characters. I loved these little guest appearances! Overall, this was a fun, enjoyable read. It’s the first book that I’ve read by the author and will not be the last.
LB Dunbar you have once again made my Best of list. This book will certainly be on my 2019 list. I was captivated by this book and slowed my reading because I didn’t want it to end. As usual, you have exceeded my expectations with this beautiful story.
Naomi Winters has only ever been with one man. A man she gave everything to before he rode off and she never heard from him. That one time was all it took. She has not dated or been with anyone else since that night. When she runs into him again. the 40 something librarian who has a pension for eccentric clothes and just being herself, sees her one night stand, she remembers why she chose to not pursue another relationship.
Nathan Ryder has come back to Green Valley. He has lived a a biker life and made his fair share of mistakes with women. But when he sets his eyes on the quirky librarian, he is taken back to that night they had shared. Now, he needs to try and rekindle what they had and what she gave up for him. He wants to show the Wiccan beauty that he is back and ready to see where their relationship can go.
I cannot even express how much I loved this book. Truthfully, I have never read any of Penny Reid books. That is about to change. I’m thrilled she included LB Dunbar into her story telling. This book kept me up late and made me late for work. LB Dunbar has a way of writing that draws me in every time. Thank you LB Dunbar and Penny Reid for allowing all of us into the town of Green Valley.
I am so happy with this book! It was great to have character’s in my age group. (40’s) I loved the second chance romance between Nathan and Naomi! All of the obstacles that they had to overcome in order to be together just made their love that much stronger.
Love in Due Time launches the new Green Valley Library series and features librarian Naomi Winters. So many of the Green Valley series books launched at one time but I latched onto this solely because I LOVED that our librarian is an almost 40 yo woman. It seems rare that romance books feature a heroine in her 40s (well almost in this case) so kudos to Dunbar for making this happen.
I applaud Dunbar in creating a unique character in Naomi as a Wiccan practitioner but it honestly didn’t do much for me and could have done without it. I also didn’t really buy into how this smart woman would equate her sex life with cosmic forces bringing about negative consequences – but alas it was overall a sweet story of two people reconnecting.
Nathan was sweet in his pursuit of Naomi and his ultimate connection to her was creative but I felt like we could have learned even more about him.
If anything, this book got me more curious about Curtis’ story.
I love how Penny Reid’s universe is expanding with this Green Valley Librarian series. Definitely worth a read.
