Arianna Morgan: She never thought life would beat her down. She never imagined the man she loved doing it either. Starting over in a small town was her only option. Once she arrived in Carson Falls, she realized her life never really began until the locals, one specifically, proved that there are things that can mend your spirit.River Bradshaw:He never thought the mother of his child would walk … Bradshaw:
He never thought the mother of his child would walk away. He also never thought she would end up dead. Living in a small town his whole life, he knew what his life’s meaning was, or so he thought. Once a stranger from out of town started teaching his daughter piano, she proved that life had much more in store for him.
This is a story about loss, love, and how music can teach us about ourselves.

Totally enjoyed reading this book!! Birdie and River wow they both overcome so much. This was my first book by Paisleigh Aumack and I loved it!!
I always love reading new authors. Paisleigh Aumack’s debut novel, Love in Carson Falls, is a lovely story of loss, strength, friendship, and love. The writer has a passion for detail, in some instances maybe a bit too much, but the reader is treated to a read that will more than pull at their heartstrings. I enjoyed Love in Carson Falls and as the story progressed I could see the potential stories of other people in the book.
Arianna suffers a tremendous loss at the hand of the man she thought loved her. Escaping her loss and further damage to her soul, she runs to her friend, Penny, to start a new life in a small town in Tennessee. Experiencing definite culture shock, Ari is not expecting the level of compassion and friendship she receives in the small town. Determined to pull herself up and remake her life, she meets Thelma, who offers her a job. However she is really unprepared to meet River and his young daughter, Cady.
River is a doting, single father, who has experienced his own losses and seeks to give his little girl the best life he can. He is immediately attracted to Ari when he sees her. Cady’s probably my favorite character, who doesn’t love a feisty five year old that is wise beyond her years? Her dream is to take piano lessons, so lucky for her and River, Arianna is a classically trained pianist.
What follows is a beautiful story of the healing power of love, mixed with a bit of suspense and danger. Friendships show their true nature and I’m intrigued by Penny and Braxton and Jury and Rhett and their stories. River may be a true alpha male but the man has some serious romance in his soul and isn’t afraid to go after what he wants. I anxiously await the next book in this series to get an up date on Ari and River and get the good on the next couple. An excellent debut.
I love a story that grabs you from the very beginning and holds onto you throughout the entire book! Love in Carson Falls is a beautiful debut novel by Paisleigh Aumack and has you feeling a range of emotions from the Prologue all the way to the Epilogue. It’s a story of heartbreack, friendship, renewa, hope and love. Paisleigh introduces us to Arianna in a heartbreaking scene but we also see from the very beginning the strength that she has by getting away from the one man that was supposed to love and protect her. She turns to her friend Penny who takes her in with open arms and an open heart and helps Ari begin the healing process along with Miss Thelma, who gives Ari a job in her store after Ari sees a piano in the front window. And then there is River!! River too was dealt a hand of heartbreak but he has his beautiful and sassy daughter Cady to raise so he doesn’t dwell on the hand he was given. The interactions between Cady and River are priceless and I just loved that little girl from the very beginning. Ari knows it’s the music that will heal her soul and it’s a beautiful scene when she sits down and her fingers touch the keys for the first time in years. Ari catches River’s eye and that’s when the fun begins!! There is definitely an instant attraction for River even though he sees her wounded and broken spirit he allows his daughter to be taught to play the piano by Ari. Little by little River and Cady begin to break the walls down that Ari has built around herself for protection. River shows her that she is worthy of love and deserves to be happy. But as the story progresses we find that someone is out to hurt Ari or is it River, they are out to hurt? As I said, this book has all of the feels and Paisleigh does of great job of making you feel them deeply. I cried, I laughed and I fell in love with all of the characters in the story, even the secondary characters like Penny, Cady, Miss Thelma and Braxton who is River’s best friend but also has a history with Penny which I’m sure we’ll be reading their story. Later in the story we meet Jury and Rhett who bring an interesting twist to things so I’m hoping there will be more from them. Lots of intrigue and mystery along with wonderful passion took me to places I love to go when reading. Have your kleenex ready and your seat belt buckled for a great ride when you read LICF. The story moves at a great pace and keeps you turning the pages to see where River and Ari will take you next. I look forward to more from this wonderful author and I think you will too.
I loved reading this book. I felt so many different emotions when reading this book. With reading everything she went through my heart broke for but for her to find her happiness again and get what she lost in the end made me so happy. I def recommend reading this book! I cannot wait for the next book in this series!!
I didn’t know what exactly to expect when I started this book but it pulled my heartstrings from page one. I loved watching Arianna develop. Her story, her view of herself was so spot on and captured me in a way I didn’t expect.
First I have to say wow.
I don’t remember when the last time was a new to me author’s first book completely blew my mind and made me an instant fan but Love in Carson Falls did just that.
The blurb intrigued me but it’s a similar story line I’ve read before so I honestly underestimated this book going in.
Paisleigh Aumack wove a tale the kept me glued to the pages from the beginning to end, Arianna & River’s story was so freaking amazing. Both finding something in each other the helps ease their own pain and heal their hearts, I don’t think the author could have written two more perfectly broken people.
And the secondary characters, I loved them so much, I’m not sure which one I’m most looking forward to reading.
Love in Carson Falls is well written, is well paced and keeps you on your toes trying to figure out who the villain is.
I enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the rest of the series.
I loved the suspense woven into Arianna and River’s amazing story. Little Cady is a wonderful character in the book. I recommend this to everyone.
He saw the sun and the moon in her eyes, so he stopped chasing after them.
Wow, it is hard to believe that this is Paisleigh Aumack’s first book, and, it is full of beautiful words like those!
Everything is there from the great writing style and flow, enough of a description to show what’s going on without being too onerous, and the incredible interactions between the characters that was so easy to become invested in.
The Prologue dumps us straight into the deep end where we meet Arianna Morgan suffering the worst of beatings from her partner of seven years. Her only crime was pregnancy. Barely surviving with only her life, the police are hunting down her wealthy and highly respected ex-partner, while she moves to Carson Falls, a small town, to stay with Penelope Sloane, the only person who has ever been her true friend.
Also living in Carson Falls, and good friends with Penelope, is River Bradshaw, the local fire brigade Battalion Chief, and his daughter, Cadence. This Daddy/Daughter combination are beautiful, and it is hard to believe that any wife or mother would dump and run, to live a life of physical and substance abuse, ultimately losing her life. Despite the efforts of Penelope and others, River is in no way interested in another relationship – he’s concentrating on his daughter.
I really enjoyed the headings of each chapter that essentially introduced the heart of the subject matter, whether it be meeting River and his ‘Frozen’ movie-mad daughter Cadence in Chapter two: Frozen, or my personal favourite, Chapter Nine: Reckless, where River says to Arianna in the club, “Bird, you have to know, what’s about to happen, will turn you on. I dance like I make love.” “And how is that?” My words were out before I even knew why or what I asked. “Reckless.” A smirk graced his face.”
The chemistry between River and Ari is always present and intense, yet he never pushes her, as seeing her occasional panic attacks have devastated him. River says he’s not perfect, but yeah, he really is, both as a prospective friend and lover, and, as a single father to the vivacious Cady. Unfortunately for Ari, darkness seems to follow her, causing her to question her worth to those in her new life.
There is so much to love about this story, and I could post quotes forever. But what I will say, is that your time and money are well spent with River, Cadence and Ari. The secondary characters really add to the story, and in getting to know Penelope, we see her ‘complicated’ interactions with Braxton, a long time friend of River and owner of the local club, Reckless. While he’s busy spreading his favours around, he’s also busy minding Penelope’s business. I need that next book, like now, to find out what the hell is going on. I really recommend this book to all who enjoy a hot single father, firefighter, contemporary romance with the requisite HEA.
Paisleigh, you started writing cos you had a story to tell. I listened because you did write it, and I loved it. Seriously, 5 Stars.
