The allure of sharing my life with that one special woman is tempting but not the thought of falling in love again or having children.Ten years ago, I lost everything that mattered – the love of my life, what should have been my daughter and the courage to go after all those dreams I once wanted. Instead, I threw myself into my job as a detective and my role at the Wounded Souls as a patched … patched member. My life consisted of staying busy, keeping my niece out of trouble and not falling in love.
Love hurt, love meant loss. And without my permission, love was heading my way in the shape of a red-headed stunner with an independent streak a mile long. Kelsey tempted me, taunted my protective nature and damn if she didn’t make me want things I promised never to go after ever again.
Jason Johnston was the main attraction of my best dreams, well he featured in every single one of them. The handsome and annoyingly bossy man was finally seeing me. Me. The girl from across the street, now a woman with a tormented past, and scars that ran deep.
He didn’t care about any of that; he cared about me, protected me, one could even say he doted on me.
I could live with the fact he couldn’t love me. Right?
Does love really have the power to heal two people so right for each other?

Jason’s story continues and now the girl that has loved him most of her life tries to open his heart to love and healing. Kelsey has had a horrible life and the one person who is supposed to protect hurts her in ways no one will ever know. Jason has promised to close his heart and never love another since losing Zoe, but his beautiful neighbor is someone that he can’t seem to resist. When an old club nemesis comes back Jason may realize too late what he had in front of him all along. Wow what an emotional journey this duet has been. Jason, Zoe and Kelsey are all mixed in a relationship that I felt the pain of loss and so much love. I loved the first part of Jason’s story in Love Hurts and now in Love Heals it really is an amazing continuation. I fell in love with all my favorite characters all over again and little Shiloh just cracks me up. This is one duet not to be missed. Amazing all the way around. This was one book I couldn’t put down. Highly Recommended but should be read together with Love Hurts first.
I LOVED IT!
I fell in love with Jason in book 1 of the Wounded Souls. My heart went out to him when Zoe died and Deck got to walk out of the hospital with Shiloh and he had nothing. When Shiloh was born was one of the happiest and worst days of his life. When Zoe died she took a piece of him with her. I wasn’t sure Jason would ever want to risk falling in love again. Then when he started to notice his long time friend and neighbor alot more than just the girl he always felt the need to protect from her horrible drug addict mother. Now she’s this sweet, well, she was always sweet, but she’s sweet beautiful and independent woman who has been in love with him all her life. However Jason wasn’t looking for a long term committed relationship but he did want something more than a one night stand. Then one day he looked up and really started to see Kelsey as more. He made Kelsey A proposition she couldn’t refuse and so began a beautiful relationship that they both needed. When Kelsey tells Jason that she doesn’t want to replace Zoe’s memory or her importance in his life, she was just asking that there be room in there for her too. That touched me so deeply. You’d never know that Kelsey has never been in a relationship before because she always seems to say just the right thing. Kelsey is his perfect match. I don’t believe Zoe was meant to be THE ONE for Jason, I think she was there to give Deck the gift of Shiloh. I absolutely love the emotions this book made me feel. When Deck scared Kelsey out in her garden and she falls face first into the manure and says she got shit on her boobies I was cracking up laughing. Lmao. When Jason and Kelsey hit the sheets it’s set your crotch on fire smokin hot. As Jason starts to come to terms with his true feelings for Kelsey it was like the Grinch when his heart grew bigger, Jason’s grew to make more room for Kelsey. It was so heartwarming and I was actually relieved. He deserves to have someone love him and give him so much happiness. When a monster from her past comes back to haunt her it was kind of nerve racking waiting to see what was gonna happen. I never wanted the book to end. I loved every minute of it. I extremely recommend this duet to everyone.
As I sit here with misty eyes reading the last words to the conclusion of The Love Duet with Love Heals, all I can say is, hell yes it does. Jason has suffered at the hands of love, losing more than one man should endure in a lifetime but all it takes is the heart, strength and the love of his Mermaid to finally open up his heart. Jason and Kelsey’s story is highly emotional and one that is filled with doubts, struggles of the heart and mind and so much passion. Kelsey is a young woman that has endured more pain and losses than is imaginable, but this strong woman maybe just what Jason’s heart needs to finally heal the cracks in his broken heart. Their story took me on a path of self discovery, laughter, drama and a love so strong it knows no bounds. My heart ached, it craved but ultimately it healed at the hands of love in its purest form. A beautiful conclusion to the one character who had endured so much hurt that we all just wanted him to finally receive his HEA, and oh boy did Leah Sharelle give him that and more.
This is second book to Jason’s life. And it was so beautiful.
It goes to show love can heal even after everything that’s happened.
I loved Jason and Kelsey together, they may of had to get over loads of obstacles but in end it was worth it.
What a gut wrenching, heartfelt duet Jason’s story is. Love heals is part two of the duet. As is the norm with Ms. Sherelle’s books, there are twists, intense times, romance and lots of emotional ups and downs. I offer the author kudos for giving us another amazing book with characters we’ve grown to love.
Jason’s character is one that was hard for me to get behind. He’s a hard nosed moody cop who seemed mad at the world. Not that I didn’t understand where he was coming from, as the love of his life was ripped away from him way to soon. Part 2 takes place 10 years later and Jason still hasn’t moved on with his outlook on life in any way. He is still a believer that Love Hurts and he has build a cold wall around his heart thing just gets worse with each passing year. But when he starts to spend a little time with Kelsey, a girl he’s known since he was a kid, he starts to feel things he doesn’t want to. Watching Jason and Kelsey’s lives unfold is not all sunshine and roses but it’s a ride you’ll definitely want to take with them.
2 Thumbs Up and 5 Stars for a book/duet that I highly recommend grabbing up. You’ll be glad you did.
Oh my heart! This is an emotionally intense, suspenseful, heartwarming and beautiful journey to go on with Jason and Kelsey. I’m so happy that Jason finally found some happiness. This is a definite page turner will break your heart but slowly piece it back together again. Great story! I enjoyed every single second.
This is book two of the Love Duet and tells Jason’s story, Deck’s twin brother. The end of book one absolutely slayed me, tears pouring down my face, my heart hurting. And the start of this one is no different!
Holy moly, this author takes you through the wringer! But man is it worth it!!
Jason’s story is heartbreaking but it’s also breathtakingly beautiful. Just read them both, they are so worth it!
Jason and Kelsey were a great couple. Jason is trying to heal old wounds and leave his past behind. He didn’t plan on Kelsey. Kelsey has a terrible past and the scars to prove it. The power of love may be able to help these two heal and become a couple. A great read that I recommend.
Love Heals is the second book in The Love Duet and I highly recommend that you read the first book, Love Hurts prior to reading this one.
Love Heals is the story of the HEA Jason deserves following the devastating loss(es) he faced in Love Hurts, Jason swears off love. He never wanted to risk the gut wrenching pain of losing someone he loved again. So when his feelings started changing for Kelsey he never expected it to go further than intimacy, but not everything always goes as planned.
Jason and Kelsey will set your kindle on fire. Their chemistry is something that can’t be denied and their compatibility is something that will change both of their lives for the better. They both have past that haunt them in different ways and are each other’s saving grace.
I absolutely loved this duet!! Through the ups and downs, twist and turns, heartbreak, love and everything else.
I highly recommend this duet to all Romance lovers.
So excited for the ending of this duet after the devastation of the last book! With the first book in this duet leaving me in absolute tears, I was so insanely ready to find out what happens to Jason and how he gets his HEA. Years after the loss of his wife, Jason still has yet to recover or move on from it, but it seems like now becomes that time thanks to Kelsey. Recovering from what her mother did to her the entirety of her childhood, in addition to what happened in the last book, Kelsey has spent her time making herself more invisible and hidden as possible. Finally deciding to act on his feelings for Kelsey, and knowing she has been in love with him since childhood, they start to embark on a relationship that is a learning curve involving the death of his wife. All while they navigate this new relationship, Kelsey’s life is found to be in danger, and while it’s anticipated on who it is behind it, the person behind it definitely comes as a surprise and the reasoning behind it. But will it be Jason’s inability to move past losing his wife that ruins the relationship rather than the danger to Kelsey’s life. I love that Leah’s books give us both a suspenseful element in addition to the romance side. I was so happy and anticipating for this book and I was so happy that both Jason and Kelsey got their HEA in more ways than one! I can’t wait to see who Leah writes about next – I can’t get enough of her books!!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
What an amazing conclusion to Jason’s story.
If you haven’t read Part 1 you really do need to read before picking this one up.
Love Heals picks up 10 years after the end of Love Hurts and Jason is still trying to mend his broken heart. The only joy in his life his job, his club, his family and mainly his niece.
Kelsey has not had the easiest life but she never lets that stop her from smiling. She has been in love with Jason almost her entire life, but thought nothing more of it, knowing Jason is still grieving.
Love Heals is all about remembering the past, living in the present and planning for the future and the first time in a decade can Jason finally stop living in the past.
Love Hurts, book one, leaves Jason’s story with him devastated and alone in his grief after losing Zoe. Love Heals starts again ten years later and should be read in this order, also I recommend reading all of the Wounded Souls stories then the Firemen Do It Better trilogy as Jason is a character throughout and you get to know him as he was then. Plus, they are fantastic books!
Jason’s character changes in this book, yes he is still grumpy, but you see him more settled again. I didn’t really have an opinion of him before this duet but absolutely adore him now and appreciate knowing his story. Kelsey is a sweet innocent woman yet at the same time she is strong and determined with a nice dose of sass thrown in, I love her character! Together with Jason they make a fantastic couple and talk about red hot chemistry, but they also deeply care for each other.
It’s always wonderful visiting with the men, women and children from the Wounded Souls MC and they are all up front and fully vocal in this book, I loved it. It’s through the fun banter between these characters and the hilarious things that come out of ten-year-old Shiloh’s mouth that you once again experience the fabulous sense of humour used by this author. There are many laugh out loud moments that literally leave you chuckling and having to explain to the family just why you suddenly started laughing!
Great descriptions make it easy to visualise each scene and the expressions are priceless, for example.. ‘Women might come from Venus, but Mars was definitely a confusing place!’ So true! The comparison stories between the different couples is an added bonus too.
This is a wonderful second chance at love story with its contrasting elements of sweetness, hope, patience and courage as well as excitement, fear and acceptance. All romance readers looking for a quality duet should read these books.
Fantastic! .
I was so happy when this book showed up on my kindle. I’ve been waiting ever so patiently for Leah Sharelle to work her magic and give Jason the story and happily ever after he deserves. She certainly did not disapoint. It was EVERYTHING i had hoped for and more .
Leah knows what her readers like and love and even when she has you sitting on the edge of your seat holding your breath reading page after beautiful page and you think it can’t get any better than this BOOM ! She proves you wrong and it does indeed get better and better. You cry and laugh and roll your eyes at the words the characters are speaking you want to throat punch the bad guy and kiss the good guy you want to feel the love the characters have for their love interests and wish you could only have a smidgen of that in “real life ” you fall in love with the words the emotions and the charactors and wish you had again , what they have and thats a true testiment to an author who can write the way that Leah does , thats what makes a GREAT AUTHOR. If you can feel what the charactors feel and love the story so much you find yourself reading it again and again then you know you have found a truly unique and talented Author.
