Two generations…two great loves…one devastating lie… A modern Pride and Prejudice story. When Izzy unexpectedly loses her mother in a car accident, her world shatters. Their relationship has always been so close that Izzy can’t imagine life without her. Nor can she begin to understand when she finds a secret box of love letters that her mother wrote but never sent. The idea of her mother … sent. The idea of her mother hiding such intense feelings for more than twenty years without so much as a hint makes Izzy question everything she thought she knew–including the identity of her father.
Following a trail of clues overseas, Izzy steps into a world of glamour and English royalty, one which years ago forced her mother to choose between her obligation to her musical gift and her lover’s obligations to his family, title, and estate. It’s a world of secrets and masquerades, of heartache and betrayal. And in the midst of this world, Izzy confronts her own perceptions of what’s important as she meets a young aristocrat who feels as broken as she does herself. The two are powerfully drawn to each other–only to find that who their parents are may present an insurmountable obstacle between them.
Thrown together on a coming of age journey of discovery that spans two lifetimes and takes them from a grand estate in the Cotswolds to a hospital bedside in India and ultimately to the Taj Mahal, Izzy and Malcolm try desperately not to fall in love. But some things are impossible…
And some loves are worth any sacrifice…
Uplifting, funny, tragic, and unforgettably, luminously romantic, Love for Two Lifetimes is a tale of two generations of love, a lifetime of friendship, a history of sacrifice, and one last, heartbreaking and hopeful choice revealed in prose, texts, and love letters. Written for young adults and grown-up romantics, if you love the romance of the royal weddings or any story by Nicholas Sparks, Love for Two Lifetimes will have you turning pages late into the night.

A great book of love, sacrifice and lies. The characters are real and well developed, and you will feel the emotions with each one of them. The love story between Ian Halford and Marcella was heat breaking. Fortunately there is a nice connection between their children. An amazing story you cannot put down until you find out what happens between these two families. A great read and will follow this author.
Love for Two Lifetimes by Martina Boone is a story of love, sacrifices, and loss. After the death of her mother, Isabelle discovers letters her mother has written to a man who Isabelle believes may be her father. The letters leave Isabelle feeling as though she never really knew her mother. She decides to go see this man not only to discover whether he is her father but hoping to discover the woman her mother did not let her know. in the pursuit of doing this she finds a story of deep enduring love and sacrifice. She also discovers a love of her own.
Throughout the course of this story, Ms. Boone fills the pages with beautiful passages. She makes you feel emotions with her characters instead of just reading about them. Her descriptions allow you to see the beautiful locations. She gives us characters we can care about.
Another thing I really like about Martina Boone’s books is that in the ones I have read she includes a piece of history. I always find it interesting and it gets me researching for further information on that piece of history.
I very much enjoyed this book and look forward to reading many more books written by Martina Boone.
This is a hauntingly beautiful tale that makes you wonder if history will repeat itself. You will know what I mean the further you get into the story. While it could be classed as YA I wish more authors would approach their books in such a mature way.
Izzy finds unsent letters her mother wrote to a man she loved in England. On a whim she heads over there hopefully to find her father. There she meets Malcom, the son of Ian, her mothers true love. Together they embark on a journey to find the truth.
This is told in Izzy, Malcom & Ians POV’s. There is a lot of attention to detail which adds a lot of interest & descriptions to the story.
You have hope for our 2, even though a kiss is as hot as it gets, you really don’t need more. The buildup & the connection is wonderful as is this tale. Of course there’s a twist or two to make this even more enjoyable.
I couldn’t recommend this book enough to anyone. It is very touching & heartfelt with the author having a unique way of expressing her vision. I received a complimentary copy for an honest review from Voracious Readers Only.
4.5 Stars!
Love for Two Lifetimes can almost be defined as two love stories in one. One being a star-crossed love that paves the way for new love in a second generation. Full of lyrical prose, as well as book and music references, this story filled nearly all my senses. Angsty, but not overwrought, the story is replete with longing, crushing, and sacrificing heartbreaks. The more I read the more I wondered if there could possibly be any kind of satisfying happily ever after? I longed for it, but could not comprehend the plausibility. Fortunately, I wasn’t left wondering. The story wrapped up nicely with a somewhat open ending shaped by the conversations between Izzy and her best friend Elli, as well as Izzy’s own reclamations. Overall, a compelling YA/NA novel that will satisfy the both the young adult and discerning older adult romance reader.
A beautiful and hauntingly devastating story that you will cry bucketloads over. I adored it; the author’s style of writing is poetic and generous in its depth of emotion.
