Love Comes Softly introduced the characters of Marty and Clark Davis, whose tragic circumstances brought them to a “marriage of convenience” on the frontier prairies during the mid 1800s. The story of how Clark’s patient, caring love mirrored that of the heavenly Father, drawing Marty to faith and to love, has captured the hearts and imaginations of over one million readers on Book One alone!
Love Comes Softly is a fun, clean read. Not steamy or inappropriate at all, and no language as far as I can remember, (unless you count dad-burn-it) which the main character uses multiple times.
One thing that people may find questionable for younger readers
(SPOILER ALERT!)
Is that a neighbor’s daughter becomes pregnant outside of marriage …
Excellent read. Ms Oke’s style pulls you in and makes it easy to relate to the characters. Ms Oke is one of the authors I’ll grab the chance at picking up one of her books, she doesn’t disappoint, IMO.
