What a wonderfully romantic Christmas story. I think that Andrew, as a selfish man who has nothing to do with the holidays, has been put down beautifully. That the encounter of the right woman, and the spirit of his deceased father, help him to look at the world differently. How he dares to open himself to others and learns that the gift of giving brings everyone the most. Certainly him !! A story that makes you learn what Christmas and love stands for
Love Comes for the Scrooge is a fitting end to the Magnolia Grove series. You can read it as a stand-alone novel, but I love the characters from previous books popping in to add depth to the story.
Andrew is the town grump. He has so many issues from his past that he can’t see the opportunities for a joyful life in front of him.
Mary is finally living her dream of owning a yoga studio in a town she loves. She has wonderful friends but misses that connection and love with a special person.
Can Andrew and Mary find love and happiness? Since this is a sweet, happy ever after story, you know it works out for them. It’s the journey that makes this book so special.
Please make a little time to read Love Come for the Scrooge. You won’t be sorry. At just under 150 pages, it won’t take long to read, but will undoubtedly add a little joy to your life.

Andrew is a grump. He’s “frugal”, so the office is freezing. He runs Scouts off his property for trying to seller him popcorn, and refuses to make a donation to the no-kill shelter. He thinks his doctor is nuts because she’s prescribed yoga for stress relief. He’s rich, but doesn’t use the money he inherited from his parents, thinking that he didn’t earn it. And just to top things off, he’s still depressed because his girlfriend dumped him. Dumped, as in the past. He starts with yoga, then takes a meditation class at Mary’s yoga studio. Mary left her corporate job for her dream job, and now has a nice yoga studio in downtown Magnolia Grove. As Andrew begins to return to normal, he and Mary think there might be something there for them. But every time he moves forward, he pulls back again. And those darn dreams! Yes, it’s a modern version of A Christmas Carol, and it’s just wonderful! I enjoyed Andrew and Mary’s journey toward their HEA, and is was especially nice to see our friends from the earlier books.

This is a fun seasonal Christmas story with a mild touch of Charles Dickens thrown in. Andrew is a bit of a snarly curmudgeon who is a stickler for being at appointments on time. He snarled at his secretary asking why his elderly, slow-moving clients were late, and he turned over the sand timer to allow them 5 minutes more before they were rescheduled. He made no accommodations for them either as far as the room temperature was concerned. It was cold and he left it that way, even though his secretary huddled under her bulky sweater. It was important to stay frugal.
After the clients left, Dr. Beverly True came in to ask if he intended to come to Thanksgiving dinner since he never replied to her invitation. When he said no, she wrote him a prescription to help him get through the holidays – yoga classes three times a week! Andrew’s being increasingly cranky and suffering panic attacks at the holiday season called for intervention, and that was what she was recommending. She already knew Mary could handle him.
Andrew obsesses over his miserable childhood and the woman who dumped him on Christmas Eve. He couldn’t seem to deal with what made him so miserable. Mary has the temperament to help him let go. Can the two of them heal each other so they can move forward and find the happiness they deserve?
This is a good book with some chuckles throughout to keep the reader invested in the story line. The characters are wonderfully presented and the reader hopes for a good outcome, despite Andrew’s reluctance to be happy. Grab your copy and see if Mary can work a miracle by Christmas!
This is a wonderful modern day version of A Christmas Carol with Andrew being Scrooge and Mary showing him the way. It’s a well written , thought provoking story covering many issues. The chemistry between Andrew and Mary is strong and believable. The author does a fantastic job bringing out the emotions and painting her scenes and had me glued to the pages reading. I loved and would highly recommend this book.

A sweet, clean and new twist on a holiday classic. Andrew needs to get over the hurts of his past and Mary is the right person to help him do just that. She also has issues to overcome but together can they each get their HEA? The chemistry between them is fantastic and believable. Love and romance during the holidays.

An interesting interpretation of the Scrooge story. Modern day curmudgeon is redeemed and finds love as well as a real life. This author never lets you down her stories grab you from page one until the end . Don’t miss this delightful holiday story.
This book is a modern day romance of Scrooge. I like the characters. The story line was good, the fact that the apparition was someone he knew was good. I did think that the time changes were unnecessary, they tended to muddle the story.
Savannah Adams has done it again! With interesting characters and an intriguing story line, Love Comes for the Scrooge is a great read. It put me in the mood for the holidays! Having read the whole Magnolia Grove series, one of my favorite things about the book is that many of the past couples and other characters make an appearance. I enjoyed the updates on what they’re all doing!
