Here you have someone with fame & fortune but doesn’t want it. Wants a normal life with a girl he knew years ago when he was a little kid. She remembers him & wants to the same thing. Love comes to both when he leaves his rock star life behind him.

Rick is a big rock star, but he hasn’t been happy lately. He’d rather write country music than perform rock music, so he takes some time off and comes back to his grandmother’s home in Magnolia Grove to weigh his options. Macy was the sweet little girl whose pigtails he pulled in vacation bible school so many years ago. She’s the high school chorus teacher who loves life in her small town, and values family over everything else. She and Rick run into each other – literally – and eventually find their way into a friendship. When it looks like things might take a more serious turn, Rick’s manager shows up to stir the pot, causing friction between Rick and Macy. I loved this story – Rick’s time out enabled him to realize that he really does value the same things that Macy does, and headed them toward their happy ending. This has been such an enjoyable series of books – clean stories set in a small town, with characters you can relate to.

This sweet clean romance provides such a breath of fresh air. With rockstar in the title, I expected glitz, glamour, fame & fortune. The author goes way behind the curtain to reveal the man and emotions behind the rockstar.

I highly recommend this stand-alone novel as well as the rest in the series.
Not only did I enjoy the connection between Macy and Rick, but I also loved watching them grow and change over the course of their story. As a lover of all kinds of music, it was fun to read about two main characters who are musicians in their own right. While this book is part of the Magnolia Grove series, you don’t need to read the other books to know what’s going on, so you can jump into any of the Magnolia Grove books at any time. Another great read from Savannah Adams with fun characters, sweet romance, and a couple of unexpected twists!
