A wounded warrior gets a second chance at love.
Chase has been through a lot but he’s trying to get his life back to his new normal with the help of his former service dog, Bear. When Bear gets her paw hurt while playing in the park, he ends up taking her to the new on-call vet. That’s where the second chance comes into play… for both Chase and Lori. Chase had tried dating Lori in highschool but things went wrong and he’s had a hard time trusting women since then. Maybe now is the time to find out the real truth of what happened.
I adored this book even though it made me cry for both Chase and Lori. It’s a wonderful second chance romance.

Love Comes for the Army Ranger by Savannah Adams is her second book in Love Stories from Magnolia Grove series. This is the first time reading the author and I have to say I really loved this story as I don’t usually read non-spicy romance. This is a great second chance romance by two high school classmates when Chase returns to his hometown after stepping on an IED.
Chase Williams has returned to Magnolia Grove after losing his leg in Afghanistan to a IED bringing his retired MWD Bear with him. He’s slowly adjusting to his prosthetic but living with his parents wasn’t his goal. Bear steps on some glass at the dog park so he takes her to the local vet who happens to be the date who stood him up in high school with her twin sister. Little does he know that she’s a widow whose husband was abusive. Can they rekindle their romance he volunteers to help out at her cat shelter not knowing he’s allergic?
Dr. Lori Farris is still dealing with the loss of her husband who had a wandering eye and isn’t counting on meeting Chase from high school that is back in town. But as much as she tries to not to have feelings their time together is special but will her secret break them apart when Chase mentions having a family.
This was a quick romantic second chance at love story and I give it 4.8 stars .
Chase is a hero in every sense of the word but sees himself as nothing special, maybe even damaged. Lori certainly sees herself as damaged and unwanted. Their second meeting was as uncomfortable as their past association. Second chances are always a sweet way to bring a couple together and it absolutely works in this story.
A Second Chance Love Story
Falling in love, even under the best of circumstances, has its obstacles and pitfalls. Such is the case with Army Ranger Chase Williams and Dr. Lori Finch. Their attraction began in their small town high school. But wrong decisions short-circuited their friendship and left them with hard feelings and guilt. Now, as adults, they will have an opportunity to get reacquainted. They will not only need to rebuild their lost friendship, they will also need to deal with the scars and hurts they each carry within and without.
Love Comes for the Army Ranger by Savannah Adams is such a sweet and tender read. It is truly clean because it is totally free of swearing and sex, and the angst is believable and appropriate. It is well researched and very well written. I am in love with Chase and I understand Lori’s issues and reservations. Together they have a chemistry that is both tender and sensual. Ms. Adams did such a good job of expressing their attraction for each other through words, thoughts, innocent touching and tender kisses. Chase and Lori’s love story is not unique, nor are their issues. However, the author did a superb job of weaving together an emotional plot while developing realistic characters.
All in all, this book has an engrossing stand-alone story with a happy ending.
This was an amazing sweet small town story. It involved a wounded military man with “mild” PTSD and a widow with a troubled past. Former high school friends this because a second chance romance if they can just work through their issues. What an emotional journey this is in the way to the HEA. I love this series and even though I read this one out of order nothing was lost in enjoyment
Story line is great and I loved the characters. I really enjoyed reading this book and I would recommend it! Unexpected twists and turns had me reading this book in one sitting. Great storyline and character development made this book a hot and enjoyable read!

Not only was this an entertaining and often humorous romance, but I appreciated how the book grapples with issues faced by veterans. No, this is not a gritty, hard-hitting drama (and it’s not meant to be — it’s a romance), but it does address the mixed emotions experienced by veterans in a realistic way. For instance, Chase feels awkward when people congratulate him for his “service” and is annoyed at his family for constantly nagging at him, as well-intentioned as they may be. I also appreciate that Savannah doesn’t downplay the pain and trust issues that Lori’s high-school betrayal caused Chase, even if she was looking out for both of their best interests.
This is sweet, heartwarming and romantic. Chase had a huge crush on Lori when they were in high school, but she had a boyfriend. At one point Lori and Royce broke up, and Chase jumped at the opportunity to ask her to the upcoming dance and she agreed to go with him. But on the night of the dance, it was Lori’s twin sister Dori who went with Chase. And when he found out he was hurt, angry and humiliated. He never talked to her again. Now, years later, he is home from the Army after losing a leg on an IED, along with his Army dog, Bear, who lost an eye from the same IED. When Bear gets injured and he needs a vet he finds that Lori is the only vet in town. Now a widow, she wonders how different her life would have been if she had ended up with Chase. Chase seems to still have the same reaction to Lori that he did in high school, so he asks her out. They both have things from their pasts that negatively impact the future, but she feels hers is too much to overcome. They make a sweet couple, Chase is stubborn, caring and sweet, Lori is vulnerable, passionate and protective. The end is unexpected.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This is my honest and voluntary opinion of it.
This is a sweet , heartfelt second chance romance between Chase and Lori. The author does a beautiful job bringing their story to life with all the drama and detailed scenes. You can feel the emotions coming through the pages with the descriptive writing.. They both are dealing with issues and will need to overcome them before they can have their HEA. The story moves fluidly and I loved and would recommend reading.

They were friends in high school, she broke his heart and they went their separate ways. Years later they are reunited by his dog but they are each dealing with their own tragedies in life.
When Chase needs to find a vet for his dog, he never dreamed it would be Lori, the girl he had a crush on in high school and the girl who broke his heart. Lori is dealing with the death of her husband and never expected her old friend to walk in to her vet clinic. Lori knows she hurt him when she couldn’t take their friendship past being friends. Will they each be able to overcome obstacles from their past, ones that threaten to ruin their relationship, and have their happily ever after?

Chase has come back from Afghanistan with Ptsd, his injured war dog Bear and missing his leg from an IED. After months in the hospital he is back in his small hometown. He meets Lori, the veterinarian, when Bear gets glass in her foot. They have some history from high school that gets in the way and she has some tragic baggage from her marriage before her husband died. They have some serious impediments to overcome for an HEA. Nicely written and proud of our brave military.

loved it!
I really enjoyed this book. Chase had his heart broken in High School, only to be reunited with the girl who broke his heart. She captured his heart again, after coming back from serving in the Army. Everything was forgiven & love prevailed in the end.

Chase loses a leg in Afghanistan, and his dog is injured, too. When Bear steps in glass in the park, he takes her to the vet, Lori. Lori’s husband was killed by lightning a year ago. She and Chase had an incident in high school when he asked her out and she wasn’t very nice or even honest with him. She eventually apologizes, and so does her twin sister, Dori, and they begin dating. They seem like such a cute couple, and he helps her with the cat foster home she’s creating from a rundown old house, despite his allergies to cats. The relationship seems to be moving forward, when suddenly Lori pulls back. Without giving away too much, all I can say is thank goodness for meddling twin sisters like Dori, who let Chase know about why Lori pulled back. This was a sweet and clean story, a wonderful sequel to the first book (although this is a standalone book). I hope that there are more books in this series.

I loved that the main couple was overcoming tragedy. It wasn’t a typical perfect couple has a slight misunderstanding. These were major obstacles.
Chase & Lori are immensely likeable. Their professions are admirable and add to the story.
I enjoyed revisiting characters from the first book in the series but this book works perfect as a stand-alone.
I have a soft spot for big loveable dogs so Bear was a very enjoyable character for me. I also have an understanding with cats as the owner of food prepper for a multitude of barn cats.
I highly recommend Love Comes for the Army Ranger to readers of romance, clean sweet romance, hallmark movie lovers, and general light fun fiction.
I received a preview copy of this book. This is my honest opionion.
Chase had a secret crush on Lori in high school and when he mustered up enough courage to ask her out, he was shot down. Now he was home from the war minus a leg when he took his injured dog into the vet. When he and Lori reconnected it brought back old feelings. Now that her husband was gone, could this be their second chance to get a happily ever after?

After reading Love Comes for the Bodyguard, the first book in this series, I knew I was going to enjoy this one, but there was more to it than that! The characters have emotional depth that made me route for them right from the beginning. They are also both strong individuals, each with their own goals and agendas other than simply ending up with the other. The wounded soldier and guarded widow were a perfect fit and made for a great read!
