Love, Cass is a heart wrenching story about life, love, and loss. Loosely based on true life events of Author Stephanie St. Klaire, Cass is a relatable story guaranteed to make you look at life through a different lens. In this emotionally charged roller coaster of events, Cass represents life in fiction as she achieves triumph over tragedy, even in death. Stephanie shares her inspirational tale … tale of victory with symbolic representation as she says goodbye to the girl she once was…through Cass.
As requested by Brother’s Keeper fans, here is the companion novel for Liam…
There’s something they don’t tell you about fairy tales. Happily ever after isn’t promised. Happy forever? Now, that’s a thing…
I met my Prince Charming right out of pigtails and just before that point where boys stop being icky, and they just smell bad. Before I knew it, we went from best friends growing up to a whirlwind romance full of dream come trues. We were planning a forever that every love-soaked romance novel tries to recreate. I was living the ultimate romantic love story – skipped the frog phase and went straight to full blown prince. My life was perfect – until it wasn’t…
I’m dying. The fairy tale just changed a bit, didn’t it?
I can’t leave until those left behind know how to live their happy forever…without me. I won’t get the forever with them, but they’ll get a forever with me.
I’m Cassidy O’Reilly…and this is my story.

I found myself enamored with Cass and her story.
It’s a very emotional and thought provoking one. Even before I actually started Cass’ journey I was brought to tears with the author’s note.
Touching the deepest recesses of my heart Cass’ heartbreaking battle and unconditional love will not soon be forgotten.
This book is Amazing!! It is so emotional you will need a box of tissues.
Cass our main character lays it all out on the line for us readers. That fact takes you on a roller coaster of emotions. She survived cancer and a pregnancy that never should have happened. Her life was wonderful, beautiful daughter, great husband. But she knew the other shoe had to drop at some point. This book oh this book it is her love letter to her family. I couldn’t read fast enough.
Like many, we all want a hea. This book wasn’t like that. That dreaded “C” word which we’ve all somehow experienced stopped this. I laughed, cried, commiserated and wanted to console. Life is hard. As they say, the good are taken young.
Looking forward to more from Stephanie.

Wow. This is such a fantastic and emotional story. It broke my heart in places and had me in tears. I cant Express the correct words to describe how good it was. You really should read it for yourself. Amazing and heartfelt.
You definitely need to have at least a box of tissues handy. My emotions were all over the place reading Love, Cass. I love Stephanie’s writing, but this book really shows how amazing she is. I enjoyed reading and learning more about Cass and watching her friendship blossom with City.
I have always thought of Stephanie St. Klaire as a very talented writer, and Love Cass has cemented that belief. She brought to life a character through her own experiences and made her real to at least me. I would have to stop reading and compose myself before I could continue, and continue I did. I loved reading the beautiful love story between Liam and Cass with their very bright and beautiful daughter. As I stated in the headline, tissues are a must with this beautiful but heartbreaking story, and thank Stephanie for writing a story that couldn’t have been easy for her. I know I don’t know if I could have such strength. This book shows how cancer can affect everyone the person with cancer loves, not just the one who has it.
Read Love, Cass by Stephanie St. Klaire and you might think you’ve opened the pages to the best Happily Ever After you could possibly witness, until you hit the half way mark & realize this could be life’s most powerful self-help book.
Broken relationships? Write a letter.
Broken heart? Write a letter.
Broken promises? Write a letter.
Seeking forever? Write a letter.
Sealing fate? Write a letter.
This is more than a companion novel conjured up by the creative genius that is Stephanie’s mind, it’s a beautifully woven tale blending pieces of her own reality with her beloved characters. Choosing to share glimpses of her life through Cassy’s story goes way deeper than flipping pages in a book. Many times I felt like I could’ve been curled up in the corner of a sofa, cup of hot cocoa or a glass of wine in hand, as I listened to this beautiful woman tell me a little bit about who she is. This story is deeply personal, you can feel that through every letter shared, and you can’t help but shed a few tears for the beautiful soul behind the author title.
Stephanie St. Klaire is a master storyteller, and this book will rock you to your core. And about that Happily Ever After you thought you were going to get, it’s like nothing you could imagine. Get the tissue & prepare yourself to fall in love with every O’Reilly once again, beginning with Sassy Cassy!
This is the first book that I have read from Ms. St. Claire and I loved it. It is a companion novel to Liam and is told before the events of that book. I now need to go and read his book because I want to see how he survives after the loss of Cass. This book will rip your heart out and have your crying by the time it is over but you will not want to put it down. You need to see how she says goodbye to the ones she loves. All I can say is make sure you have a box of tissues by your side because by the time you finish this book, you will need them. I typically don’t read books that I know will make me cry but I am really glad that I took the chance on this book. I can’t wait to read more of her work.

Reading this you could feel the heart and soul that Stephaine poured into this book! I’m so glad you decided to share this beautiful story even if it was an unexpected tear jearker.

I am so glad that Stephanie wrote the backstory of Cass and Liam. We already figured she was a special lady in Liam’s story. Make sure you aren’t wearing mascara and have tissue ready. To know that this is based on Stephanie’s own experiences makes it more heart wrenching. The things she went through and how she took care of those she loved even after she was gone was wow. Cass being the voice for Stephanie, shows us how strong this writer is. The love Cass imparts on her husband and daughter are beyond words. I am glad we got to hear what she went through to make sure they remembered the good memories and how to live without her.
YOU HAVE TO READ THIS BOOK!!!!! If you read no other book, read this book! Well – read all of Stephanie St Klaire’s other books too! You won’t regret it, her characters will pull you in!
Love, Cass will change who you are and how you look at the world, your life and your family. Make sure you have tissues handy! Even if you aren’t a crier or don’t usually get weepy. The tears WILL flow! Cass had me from page one! I felt as deeply as she felt and put myself in her shoes as a mother. Stephanie St. Klaire put her whole heart into Love, Cass and I know you will love it as much as I did!

This is the first book I’ve read by Stephanie St. Klaire and at times it was difficult to get through. Not because it was written terribly or a bad storyline, but because it was so beautiful and true to real life. I knew the moment I read the author’s note this book was going to leave an imprint. Love, Cass dug a hole in my heart and buried itself deep within. This book puts life in perspective, priorities change and you realize what is really important. Everyone should read this book.
Omg make sure to have tissues available. Wow what a great book and story line
This book, the memoirs of Cass, is so powerfully written. It tore my to heart shreds then put it back together again. The emotions bled into the characters and the pages rendering you speechless and at the same time has you an emotional wreck, then it was healing your soul. I just have no words strong enough to convey what this book means to me. I can’t tell you how much respect I have for the way Stephanie poured her whole heart and soul into this book. You won’t want to miss out on this one, and be sure to have a box of tissues handy. You will need them.
I’m left unsure how to write about this story. Written as a bonus novel for those who have read about the O’Reillys in her Brother’s Keeper series, I believe this book is also a wonderful introduction to the family for those coming in blind. Rarely do I choose to go to emotional places this book took me to and I don’t know if I will ever do a re-read, but I don’t regret taking the journey with Cassidy and her family.
Love, Cass is is a tearjerker. It is reminiscent of so many who go through terminal illness. We get to celebrate Cassidy O’Reilly life through the author, Stephanie St. Klaire. Cass dwelled on the positive as she faced reality. Preparing her family for what is inevitable, I could only hope that faced with end of life, I could half as determined and positive as Cass O’Reilly.
Thank you Stephanie for not only giving us Cass’ story, you did it in the most sensitive, positive way.
This is the story I didn’t know I needed to read, but I’m so glad and honored to have read. You can feel the emotion pouring from every sentence. The narration is so clear and the feelings are just everywhere. If you are a SSK fan, Brother Keeper fan and McKenzie Ridge fan, you need this book in your life. If you haven’t read any of those, you still need this book in your life. The story feels as real as it can get, and gives closure to readers who love the O’Reilly’s and felt their loss too.
This is a wonderfully written sad tale with a happy ending. I went through an emotional wringer and came out a better person. It’s a story of love, loss, and handling grief. I loved every gut wrenching part and all the laughter. Well worth the read.
When reading the Brother’s Keeper series, I learned about Cass through the characters in those novels. Unfortunately, you don’t get much insight into her, as a character, or really the tragedy that she faced in her life. The thing was, even in the mentions of her, I could feel her presence and her impact.
Cass is one of the most beautiful, strong, and caring women I’ve ever read about. Even before she’s truly faced with watching her end come near, the soul of this woman was stunning. The love she has for her family just flows off of the pages and their love in return shows just how she truly impacted their lives.
In this story, we see the story of a woman, a mother, coming face to face with her end. I know this sounds a little dramatic because everyone dies in the end, but to know your end is near and watch your family worrying and suffering is unimaginable. Cass must face this. She must face this knowing her husband, daughter, and brothers(in-law) must live with her through this struggle and then live without her. This hits hardest as Cass begins to digest the fact that her daughter will be hitting her monumental life moments without her mother, and her husband will be facing these moments without his wife’s love and support. When she realizes what this means, she knows that she cannot simply leave them without her for all that time. It’s in this time she makes the decision that will change their lives.
This story hurt. From the moment I discovered what was happening in her life, my heart was broken. Learning, also, that this story is based on the author’s life … oh. my.lanta. This story was not only beautifully written, but it was felt into the deepest part of my heart. I don’t have all the words to discuss how poignant this story truly was for me. A definite must read, even if you haven’t read Brother’s Keeper. You’ll want to know what happens with the brothers, for sure, and you’ll be forever attached to this family.
Wow…no words! What a wonderfully beautiful story. I don’t normally cry when reading a book but this one brought me to tears. So keep plenty of tissues on hand. This book is a companion to The Brother’s Keepers Liam story. You don’t have to read that one to read this one. But, you will want to after this book. This one is written from Cass’ point of view and is heartbreakingly sad and beautiful. It has all the feels. If ever I have this situation come up I hope I’m as strong as Cass(Stephanie)! I most definitely recommend this book to everyone!
