Rediscover this sweet, classic romance by one of today’s most popular storytellers, #1 New York Times bestselling author Debbie Macomber! Ellen Cunningham is happy to play housemother for three younger college boys–it’s helping her keep the rent affordable while she’s back at school herself, pursuing her dream of becoming an school teacher. Besides, she’s used to caring for her younger … younger siblings, and some instincts never go away.
But then the house’s owner returns, and Reed Morgan is not impressed with the situation, especially because he never agreed to let his younger brother rent out the rooms. Reed finds Ellen’s presence particularly problematic… perhaps because he likes her more than he’s willing to admit.

I have always enjoyed Ms. Macomber’s books tremendously. Lately however the last two or three I have read seem to have taken a strange turn; the women in the stories have become weak and subservient in my opinion, and the men have become self-centered, domineering, and arrogant to the point that it’s about all I can do to even finished the book. I really hope she will reverse this trend.
Great quick read.
I enjoyed the idea of making the car or truck the character was driving an emotional decision without the character realizing he was doing it. It gives the book originality.
love this book she hasn’t written a book i didn’t like great author
Love By Degree was an easy read, comfortable book to enjoy. With all the stress we face in our own everyday life, I certainly enjoy being “comfortable” with a good story, even if it is somewhat predictable. I give it a “thumbs up”.
I love Debbie Macomber. She writes about life and her characters are so real, always love them by the end of the book.
Fun, fast read. Debbie Macomber is nearly always entertaining and this is no exception. I liked the main character; she seemed realistic.
Great book couldn’t put it down
I used to love Debbie Macombers books, but this one lacked depth.
Always love anything Debbie writes and this is no exception!
This book reads like some of the chapters in my own life. How great Claire was to share so much with so many others.
Very predictable, but in a good way.
Very disappointed. It felt like a couple of chapters from a bigger story. It didn’t feel finished. Don’t waste your time.
Great author. Interesting story.
