A girl’s gotta eat—and so do her three cats. Recently divorced art history grad student Hanna Harvey has just fibbed her way into a job as the assistant to dangerously drool-worthy art gallery owner Mark Abernathy. For Hanna, working in the field she desperately loves provides the perfect opportunity to begin putting her life back together. Soon her cheese budget is in the black and her feline … life partners are no longer eyeing her like a six-foot can of Fancy Feast.
But when her boss’s lady friends start turning up dead, Hanna finds herself in the cross hairs of a murder investigation. Even worse, hunky homicide detective James Morrison fears hers might be the next body he discovers.
With the “help” of the gallery’s quirky cast of resident artists, Hanna will have to hunt down the truth about Abernathy’s dark secret—before it hunts her.

I laughed out loud several times while reading this. The heroine’s hilarious, the men are sexy. There’s also a juicy mystery. I loved the characters and look forward to reading more in this world!

My review :
When bodies began to pile up around her new boss, a woman has to wonder if she might be next …
As I said a few days ago, I very rarely read contemporary romance, but as this one has a paranormal side, I jumped to discover what all the fuss was about it.
First, this book ends on a cliffhanger, how I hate cliffhangers but I knew when I purchased this book, it might be a trilogy or more, my brain is not sure anymore, and now I will have to bite my nails for some time until the next installment.
This is a story told in the first person. I liked Hanna and her antics but at time she annoyed me, yet I can also relate, I read shifters books, not she!
So yes, between the title and the cover, it is no spoiler to say her boss is a werewolf and women seem to have a tendency to die when he is in the area.
Why with a cop urging her to give him insights about her new boss, plus his various quirks which put him immediately on top of the suspects list, not easy for a woman a bit lost to think straight.
And a chicken when exposed to a wolf, it does not think anymore, it runs…
And running she does, forgetting to balance everything she knows for what it could be.
I confess it is this aspect of her personality I was not fond of, she does not listen, she falls easily in the traps lined for her, I know her strength is no match with paranormal creatures but she jumped so readily in the web expressly woven for her, when she has a brain and could have used it.
As it is a one side point of view read, it is more difficult to talk about Abernathy, yet from the very beginning I loved him.
Sure he is a walking enigma but he is kind, patient and caring. Why I disliked Hanna for immediately pointing her fingers towards him.
Morrison is to me the rebound guy, the one to confort Hanna she is still an attractive woman.
But only the next books will give the answers but I do hope it will not be a love triangle, there is nothing I dislike more than this trope.
4 stars for this fun read, and now I have to wait to see what happen next and with what man will Mrs St. Aubin tie Hanna.
I was granted a free copy by the author but purchased my own.
Here is my true and unbiased opinion.
Last note : Never went to the Meurice hotel but I totally agree with getting lost in a fromagerie.

This is a new favorite series! I loved Hannah so so much. She was a mess in the best possible way. At the beginning of this book Hannah was struggling to feed herself and her three cats. She takes a job at an art gallery and that’s where she finds her home. She has a sexy boss that randomly disappears, one of the artist needs to watch jazzercise to focus, one is anti social to the max, and there’s a cop that sticks his nose in places he shouldn’t.. but these are Hannah’s people.
If you haven’t started this series, you really, really should. It’s hilarious and full of hijinks that I promise will make you laugh.
This new to me author blew me away with her fresh take on a shifter tale. The writing is absolutely wonderful, the characters are well-developed, hilarious and unique, and the story is full of surprises that will keep you on your toes. I loved every minute of it!
