An amazing 5* box set
Sweet stories! I highly recommend them! The first book is so-called ‘clean’ or at least ‘behind closed doors’, , books 2 and 3 are steamy. Here a review per book.
***** Coming Home
Sweetness, fun, depth, what more do you want?
Jessie has a lot going on in her life right now, an ex returning, her two estranged sisters returning… it’s not easy.
Cade let his brothers persuade him to come with them to Snowy Ridge, but he doesn’t want to be here. At all.
The first time Jessie and Cade meet is not really a success… they instantly dislike one another.
It’s a sweet and fun story. It has real depth too. The steaminess is kept behind closed doors.
There are a few minor slip-ups where the past tense goes briefly to present. And some mistakes, like ‘Your head over heels dude.’ Ehm, yeah, ‘You are…’ so it should be ‘You’re…’. But I didn’t mind too much; the story was so enticing I couldn’t stop reading. Whenever I tried to stop reading the book just screamed “Read me! Forget all your chores and just read me! No need for sleep, just read me!” 🙂
I definitely fell in love with this series.
***** Taking Chances
Feels like home
When I finished the book I was actually kind of sad I was at the end, because I absolutely loved it! It felt like a hot bath, comfy and cosy. Everyone in this book has his/her own problems, but you can feel the warmth.
This book is the second book in the Snowy Ridge: Love at Starlight Series. The story is about Wynn and Bryce. Jessie and Cade from book #1 are also in this book (of course, as Jessie is Wynn’s sister). I would recommend reading book #1 first, but if you want to, you can read this book easily without having read the previous book.
Wynn is confident but not overly so; she is not as self-assured as her sister Jessie; it makes her all the more likeable. She is a warm and kind person. As a single mum she doesn’t have an easy life and she struggles with how to get her life back on track. She deals with all the insecurities that come with that and it makes the story feel real. It makes her easy to relate to. She is a strong woman, but she has to learn how to tap into that strength.
Bryce is also someone you can relate to. He’s a really nice person but he hasn’t had it easy in life. He needs to come out of his shell a bit. And who better to help him than Wynn?
I like a story so much better when I can relate to the main characters and that’s absolutely the case in this book.
And you know the fun part? There is going to be at least one more book in this series. Can’t wait!
***** Finding Me
The story grabs hold of you and won’t let go.
Luci feels like she’s an eternal screw-up, like she has failed in life, at her job, at love. She’s trying to change and become a better person. I wasn’t sure about her at first, she didn’t seem all that likeable to start with, but as I got to know her better she grew on me. She is writing a novel and desperately wants to get it published. I think this one is very close to home for the author!
Evan grew on me too. I didn’t know what to think of him in the beginning, but he turned out to be one of the good guys. He’s drifting, no clue as to ‘where to go from here’. He is an avid reader and he loves reading romance. This seems a bit unlikely for such a hot guy (seriously, how many guys you know love reading romance?) but hey, I’ll go with it. He met Luci a few months ago and didn’t like her at all…
There is some steaminess, but to be honest: it was a bit quick. Never mind that: it’s a feel-good story that grabs hold of you and won’t let go! It made me want to read Luci’s book too! 🙂 😉
Ms. Jett has become one of my favorite authors.
