The adult characters were fantastic. Some of the dialogue for the kids was written too old for the character…
ALL of the family interactions were awesome, though…. as was the story!
I kinda love/hate it when characters think they aren’t good enough for each other and choose to walk away instead of seeing it as a challenge to be better. You just know they were broken by a previous relationship.
A cute book about two deserving people who get a second chance at true love after bad marriages. I loved it!
I absolutely adore this series! I especially enjoyed the banter between Tory and Nate in this story! Spending time with characters from Nestled Hollow is always enjoyable!
Two totally giving people haunted by their past relationship failures grow close, then back away feeling that they aren’t good enough for each other. Finally finding their HEA , with the 4 children participating as well. Found myself laughing out loud at the antics of the children. Great read.
Wow, Love Again at the Heart of Main Street was such a beautiful read/listen! I loved getting to know both Tory and Nate, along with Tory’s family (4 kids). I loved that we get to see other familiar faces from previous books in the series, all while learning a bit more about the ins and outs of running a coffee shop and a construction company. I loved how the imperfections of both MCs are what makes them perfect for each other, as well as how the vulnerability was just what their relationship needed. Of course, the epilogue was just perfect and had one of the sweetest moments in all the book (considering all previous interactions between Cody and Nate).
As for the narrator, she was fantastic (as ever 😉 ) with all the range of voices she managed to portray (and keep straight :P), as well as all of their emotions. Seriously, well done!
Completely recommended! ~ 5 stars
This is the second audiobook by this author I listen to, and once again, I fell in love with the story.
This is a clean, sweet, and touching romance about two individuals that have been hurt in love. Neither looking for or expecting to once again, find true love.
Tory is the town’s coffee shop owner and the single mom of 4 delightfully mischievous and sweet kids. Nate owns a construction company. He’s always wanted kids, but his ex was not interested and made him feel he didn’t measure up to her standards.
When a storm destroys Tori’s coffee shop, Nate steps in to help her rebuild. Neither expecting that feelings for each other would surface.
But each has emotional baggage. Will they be able to find a way to get a second chance at love, or will that will always stay a dream that never came through?
Though I’ve only listened to 2 of the stories in this series, I assure you that now I want to listen to other stories by this author.
This was a great romance about finding love after divorce. I liked the building of each character and the accurately portrayed chaos of children.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Another great book!! Loved Nate and Tory’s story!! The kids added another dimension, but totally made the book believable. Loved how they both overcame the difficulties in their previous marriages, and yet used those to grow into the people they were meant to be, but to also realize that they weren’t each others exes and that they weren’t the horrid people their exes made them think they were.
Sweet story in Nestled Hollow. Love how the characters reappear in each book. Really love Tory and Nate’s story, sweet likeable characters. I was given a free copy by the author. My review is freely and honestly given
This is the delightful story of Tory and Nate. Both are divorced and Tory has four children and a business of her own. She is one very busy lady! Nate also owns his own business – a construction company that is booked solid. A tree falls during a lightning storm heavily damaging Tory’s coffee shop. Even though Nate is booked he comes after his jobs to help her get her business open again. As she stops by to help where she can she discovers what a good person Nate is. This is a wonderful, feel good story that you don’t want to miss!
When a fallen tree crush the front of coffee shop Love a Latte, Tory’s dreams are crushed too. Without money income it will be difficult to raise her four kids alone. Even with all the work piling in Nate’s building company, he offers to help Tory reconstruct her business with the help of townspeople. Can two divorced people find trust in love and marriage again? A sweet love story about second chances, love, happiness and family.
Meg has given us feel good small town romance at its best.
There’s an instant attraction between Tory and Nate right after a devastating storm destroys part of Tory’s business. Nate jumps in to help her, but each of them finds out in love and life we are our own worst enemy.
Tori is a divorced mother of four who feels like she’s out of control. No guy will ever stick around. She’s a mess—Nate sees the fantastic, creative mom and kind-hearted, attractive shop owner that she is.
Nate always wanted to be a dad, but doesn’t feel like he’s good enough. He failed at marriage once and was left devastated and alone.
He can’t do it.—Tory sees the hard-working, good looking, kind man that he is.
Each one must wrestle with their own personal insecurities while the attraction grows. Is love worth the risk?
Throughout the story the author brings tears and laughter, writing with humor the true to life chaos that comes from being a mother. The kids are individuals with clear personalities, and their own level of insecurities.
This was a fun, easy read.
Meg Easton has a knack of writing great books that have many emotions.
Her characters are so likable and her plots have many varied emotions.
This is a must-read book.
Meg Easton tells the story of two people who are still strongly influenced by the effects of their divorces on their self esteem. Our minds can be our own worse enemies and Tory and Nate must work though those issues. I loved how they could not see themselves the way those around them saw them. Her characters were interesting and the story line kept me involved. I enjoyed reading this story.
I read Second Chance on the Corner of Main by Meg Easton a couple of months ago and I loved it. It was way exciting to see that there was another book in this same series. I love how the author is writing about all the characters in Nestled Hollow. They are all kind of intertwined so the reader gets to “see” how they’re doing in each consecutive book. And each book stands alone, that makes it even better.
This book was a quick read for me. I read the whole thing in an afternoon. That’s my favorite way to read a book. This book has great characters, a fun plot, and a great ending. I didn’t want to put it down.
Tory is one of those amazing mothers who seem to be able to do it all. She has 4 kids who keep her busy, and she’s a single mom. Tory runs the shop Love a Latte on Main Street in Nestled Hollow. I loved the way Tory was with her kids. She worked hard, and taught them to do the same. It was fun to see the kinds of things she did to get her kids to like to work. I may have to steal some of her ideas.
Nate runs a construction company. It’s a busy time of year for him, and he has a lot going on. But he jumps in to help Tory when a tree falls on her shop. On his own time. I loved the way he went out of his way to help her. And watching him with Tory’s kids was fun. It’s always great when the male characters like kids.
I loved the plot of this one. It’s fast paced, light and fun. This would be a perfect summer read for lounging in the sand or by the pool.
Seriously love this series of books! This particular one has the added dimension lended from emotional baggage of failed relationships, which makes it so relatable. The characters are interesting, and imperfect, but strive to become better. Definitely read, but you may as well grab the whole series, because once you visit Nestled Hollow you won’t want to leave!
Single mom and entrepreneur, Tory can sometimes come across as a hot mess. What with four elementary school kids and running her coffee shop, she’s not always on top of things. When a lightning strike causes a tree to crash into her shop, she’s at wits end…she can’t wait for several months for repairs! The shop is her only source of income. In comes construction company owner, Nate, to the rescue. Nate has his own baggage and insecurities…with an ex wife whom he could never please, and didn’t want kids, as well as an ex gf who was pretty much the same. Then there is Tory…Nate shouldn’t start to admire, respect and like her, but that’s exactly what’s happening. Tory hasn’t given up on finding a lasting love and marriage, she just wants someone who could see beyond her 4 kids and her sometimes drama. She finds Nate attractive and the duo begin to date…can there really be an HEA in store? One of the reasons that I enjoy this series is that it’s about relatable people…no billionaires here, just honest, hardworking people. Love catching up with characters from prior books. Looking forward to Alete’s story next.
I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Hmm…..Two people dealing with the baggage left over from previous marriages and subsequent divorces. You wouldn’t think that premise would make for an entertaining, mostly lighthearted, small town romance, but it absolutely does.
Nate and Tory had great chemistry. I couldn’t help but cheer for the success of their relationship. They each were dealing with different kinds of craziness in their lives, never really expecting to start a new relationship.
It was sad how self esteem issues from their previous marriages reared there ugly heads causing Nate and Tory to step away from one another. Luckily, that did not last too long.
This book is sweet and romantic. You get an epilogue and an HEA. A 4.5 Star read that will have you smiling throughout most of it, and especially at the end.
I voluntarily read and reviewed this book received from the author.
Tory and Nate have both come out of heart breaking marriages so they are really apprehensive about risking their hearts again. I love how Nate finally let Tory know how he felt. A really sweet love story with just the right amount of angst. Her children and Nate are adorable together.
I don’t know how Tory does it as single mom of four children running her own business. It’s great how she gets the older ones to help the younger ones out and make a game out of things like chores to encourage them to participate. Thankfully she has plenty of friends in Nestled Hollow, which she finds out when a tree crashes through Love a Latte during a storm. Tory and Nate are attracted to each other, but they both have hang-ups. Tory had to be the responsible one married to a man-child who had trouble holding onto a job, so she became the strong one. But she thinks she comes off as too tough now. Plus who would want to take on her chaos. Nate was hurt by his ex-wife who never made him feel good enough and she never wanted children with him. He wonders if that means he’d be a terrible dad and dating Tory means an instant family. They both have a lot to overcome to find happiness together.
