A Curvy Meets Cowboy Romance
Rachel
Some debts are never really paid…
So when a friend calls in an I.O.U. and asks me to keep an eye on her injured cousin for a few weeks, I pack my bags and head for the mountains.
There, I expect to find a wounded man tucked away in an isolated cabin. Instead, I find a surly bear.
But nothing is ever as simple as it seems, and beneath Cyrus Lyle’s … seems, and beneath Cyrus Lyle’s bluster is a man full of regrets, dry humor, honor, and love.
I shouldn’t adore his gruff attitude or the sweet looks he gives me when he thinks I’m not watching.
I shouldn’t want to stay with him at all, but I do.
Cyrus
A few weeks ago, guilt and heartache nearly cost me my life… and my horse.
The thing is, I haven’t quite decided if the former is worth saving.
I’ve done my best to run off every nurse my cousin sends up here. But then she sends me a companion instead, and everything changes.
It ain’t an ideal time for me to fall in love. Yet, love doesn’t care much about timing.
Rachel is sweet, strong, bossy, and damned if I don’t love to tease her.
She makes me feel like myself again… Like I was before when I had a whole heart, two good legs, and a brother.
I know she’s got her own ghosts, too. And I know she has every reason to leave me up here alone once I’m well again. But I’ll do everything in my power to convince my Goldilocks to stay.
Short enough to read in one sitting and long enough to satisfy, this trope-tastic, over-the-top little dual POV, standalone micro-romance is sweet, steamy, and full of old-fashioned cowboy nobility and goodness. The love is insta, and the ending is HEA guaranteed. Note: the stories in this series are shorter and spicier than those in the Real Good Men of Oklahoma series… Except for this one, which is longer than most of both.

Rachel goes out to help take care of Cyrus. He’s an ornery old goat, feeling guilt and pain. As Rachel takes care of him, they grow closer. Once they find out about each others family and the toll addiction has taken on each, their relationship changes to one of love. Got the extended epilogue as well. Love the end!!
The storyline grabbed my attention from the start and had me turning the pages. The characters are well developed and engaging and have plenty of chemistry throughout the book.

An amazing fast pace and exciting book three of the Real Good Men of Arkansas series! The story line is well-developed, emotionally deep, witty, engaging, well written, and steamy with some ups and downs. Likeable ad stubborn characters; their chemistry is off the charts! Definitely recommended!

An easy-to-read romance where a nurse will look after a man who was involved in a car accident. They quickly become attracted to the other. In addition, both know what it is like to have a sibling with a drug addiction. Where she takes care of him first, he takes care of her when she needs it. Cyrus is initially a man who no one wants to be around. Rachel’s concern turns him into a caring man who wants to fight for the love of his life. A happy ever after

Rachel is a nurse, recruited by a friend to stay with and look after Cyrus, who is recovering after a car accident. He is big, burly and grumpy, having driven off every nurse his cousin has sent to care for him. Rachel, though, is stubborn and not willing to let him bully her. Their attraction to one another is strong an d it is fun to watch how things play out. This is another good one by Ms. Gold. I am looking forward to the next.

I promise you don’t have anything I ain’t seen a thousand times. Pretty sure you;re wrong on there, honey.
I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this FANTASTIC story!!! Can you tell I really enjoyed reading this one? Not sure what would have given it away but here we go with my review…
Rachel is a private nurse in the town of Allenville, Arkansas who has been asked by her friend Megan to move in with and look after her cousin Cyrus. As she owes a debt to Megan for saving her sister’s life last year Rachel finds herself outside of Allenville in the Ozark Mountains, and also outside of cell service. It seems Cyrus has run off three nurses in the last ten days and so Megan turned to Rachel and called in her favor. Technically Rachel is there is babysit “a giant, grouchy toddler” as he is not technically a patient of hers. Rachel braces herself as his nursing notes read: “Rude. Dismissive. Uncooperative. Mr. Lyle is the most verbally combative patient I’ve had in fifteen years.”
Cyrus was in an accident that he will not talk about but that ended up with his femur being shattered and a steel rod being inserted and his back had a full-thickness avulsion with the skin being reattached. Cyrus is in a lot of physical pain but is also in the midst of emotional pain because of the accident.
Rachel is not going to be run-off so quickly and instead works some magic on Cyrus. She first gets him to take his pain med to help him get some sleep after examining him, as has not been taking it and therefore not sleeping or eating. Once she gets a couple doses in him she switches him over to ibuprofen which will maintain the pain relief. She also cleans his wounds and tends to them to ensure they do not get infected and are able to heal. Cyrus is still very much a big grouchy bear but she finds a friend in his Nana, who just lives down the road and visits often. Cyrus slowly starts to come back to life and the grouchy is tapped down. But the Florence Nightingale Syndrome quickly pops up for Rachel and she is going to have to tap that down before it is too late and she crosses a line.
So I don’t want to tell the whole story but let’s just say that the Florence Nightingale Syndrome be damned as Rachel and Cyrus find their attraction growing daily until it cannot be denied by either of them. When these two finally give in it is explosive in so many ways. As Cyrus says “She’s my Goldilocks, who came in as an unwelcome guest, and then tamed the bear and fell in love with him.”
Cyrus is rude, surly and hurt, not just physically but emotionally as well.
Rachel has a debt with Megan so when she asks her to take care of her cousin, she agrees to do it.
The start is rough, but Rachel knows how to treat a difficult patient. Cyrus starts to react toward Rachel and little by little the attraction they feel for each other grows.
I like Daisy Gold’s stories; they are short, easy to read and enjoyable.

In this book we meet Rachel and Cyrus. Rachel is determined to pay back a debt that she owes to Megan. When she asks her to work to rehab Cyrus she knows she can’t say no. Once she meets him though she wonders if she should have though. Cyrus is a man who knows what he wants at least he thinks he does before he met Rachel. She is different than any of the other people who have come to care for him. She genuinely seems to care about him not just what she can do for him. The more time they are around one another the closer they seem to become. What happens though when the reasons why she’s there and how he became come to light? Will it be a HEA or the beginning of the end?
This is another amazing hit by this author. It does have its ups and downs I really want to tell you about. However I don’t want to ruin the story for any other readers. I will say this book will have you hooked from the first word to the very end. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.
This is a sweet and sexy romance with a deeply intense and emotional story line. The author brings strong characters in Rachel and Cyrus, gives them an instant attraction and hot chemistry and weaves a short novella that packs a punch. It’s well written with descriptive scenes, moves quickly and smoothly and I enjoyed reading.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
Rachel owes Megan a favor, so she’s going to help grumpy Cyrus heal from his injuries, and take care of his wounds. Grumpy is the very nicest word that can be used to describe Cyrus these days. Rachel is a no-nonsense nurse, though, and unwilling to put up with any of his attitude. It turns out that they have a lot in common – mutual pain from siblings addicted to drugs, pain too deep to just forget about. These two are perfect together, and I enjoyed seeing her break down his walls. As if the book itself isn’t steamy enough, the bonus epilogue is just over the top – the icing on the cake. I believe that this is my favorite book so far in this new-ish series – can’t wait for the next one. I received a free copy of this book, and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
Cyrus Lyle is recovering from surgery and has chased off every caregiver he had. Rachel felt a debt to Cyrus’ cousin Megan for saving her sister’s life and agreed to help. She is determined to break through the surliness of this stubborn, rude, but appealing man. It may turn out they can help each other. I especially enjoyed the character of Nana Ruth.

A sexy-sweet slice of real
Daisy Gold’s third novel in her Real Men of Arkansas series isa blue-ribbon -winning apple pie with a side of hot cinnamon. It’s all about just good folk, some stuck in bad places, and most of ’em willing to give the shirts off their backs for a neighbor in need. Rachel its one – a nurse’s aid who repays a friend’s favor by taking on CyrusThe Convalescent Grump. He’s just an Arkansas good ole boy grown up, and smacked down by serious car wreck injuries and even more serious false guilt. False guilt is something he and Rachel have in common, along with a growing sexual attraction. These two are so hot and so beautiful together, so real and perfectly imperfect, and they go together like shoes and socks. A love story to warm your heart – and other parts. This is a voluntary ARC review.
wonderful story .. I love this spicy lady, who does not let her walk over her. he needs the care, but did not expect to find his true. despite being a short story, it has just enough depth, as does drama and love. therefore 5 stars from me

This is a short and sweet romance with just the right amount of steam. I enjoyed Cyrus and Rachel’s story as you can feel their connection coming off the pages. Rachel is exactly what the broody man needed.

This is the first book I’ve read by Daisy Gold and I loved it! It’s a beautiful story of compassion, caring and finding love where least expected. Rachel travels to Cyrus’s mountain home to care for him after a horrific accident. He’s surly, grumpy and had already chased two nurses out of his home. Rachel shows him from the beginning that she won’t take his surly attitude or be chased away. She’s there to do a job and plans to do it. A good storyline and wonderful characters that capture your heart from. beginning to end.

Goldilocks and her Bear! This is about Cyrus and Rachel. She is indebted to a friend and when she is asked to come and take care of Cyrus as he needs help tending to his injuries because he is a stubborn old man, she agrees. The story is not only about Cyrus and his accident and his stubbornness, it is also about drug addiction. It is heartwarming that they both had family members that needed the help one who didn’t make it and the other who is willing to give it a try. I love how they each helped each other, but the story starts off pretty funny as Rachel is a tough cookie even if she is trembling inside. Cyrus finally realizes that this is what he needs and then becomes protective of her. Of course, this has a beautiful ending after all Daisy wouldn’t allow for this not have a happy ending.

I enjoyed this story very much. It was different from Daisy’s other stories but no less awesome. I enjoyed how their relationship began and how it evolved…the steamy scenes were appreciated too.

This is the third book in the series and was a really good sweet yet steamy older man/younger woman romance. I really liked both Rachel and Cyrus they were really good likable characters and were really great together if you have read and enjoyed the previous books in the series you will really like this one I did.
