It was a hell of a long shot…. CIA assassin Fortune Redding is about to undertake her most difficult mission ever—in Sinful, Louisiana. With a leak at the CIA and a price placed on her head by one of the world’s largest arms dealers, Fortune has to go off-grid, but she never expected to be this far out of her element. Posing as a former beauty queen turned librarian in a small bayou town seems … town seems worse than death to Fortune, but she’s determined to fly below the radar until her boss finds the leak and puts the arms dealer out of play. Unfortunately, she hasn’t even unpacked a suitcase before her newly inherited dog digs up a human bone in her backyard.
Thrust into the middle of a bayou murder mystery, Fortune teams up with a couple of seemingly sweet old ladies whose looks completely belie their hold on the little town. To top things off, the handsome local deputy is asking her too many questions. If she’s not careful, this investigation might blow her cover and get her killed. Armed with her considerable skills and a group of elderly ladies the locals dub The Geritol Mafia, Fortune has no choice but to solve the murder before it’s too late.

One of the best Series ive ever read….10 star , gut laughing, tears rolling. GOOD
Very enjoyable with lovable characters as an amusing premise!
I was recommended this book by a lady who just happened to be walking by and saw me reading when I was waiting for my mom to finish with her hair appointment.
I was happily surprised, since it was not something I would have gravitated toward, subject wise.
Long story short, a CIA operative needs to go into hiding for a while and ends up …
Fun, light-hearted read with quirky, strong female characters and enough of a plot to keep you interested.
Lots of fun!
Interesting and funny. I got this story for free. The most praise I can give to any book is that I would spend my money to buy more. For this series I would spend my own money. So you should too.
Laugh out loud funny and a fast read. A book to just take the drama out of the day.
I love the Miss Fortune books. I have read this one and every one in the series! Hope there are more to come!
Fortune is a badass, a CIA assassin who gets sent to hide out in a small town in the swamps of Louisiana. But there’s much more — so much more — to the town and the elderly residents than meets the eye.
I alternately chortled, giggled, and burst out laughing while reading this whodunit. I’m so glad that I’ve discovered a new, great series to …
So much fun!
fun book to get lost in
If readers are looking for a mystery that will make them laugh out loud, they must read “Louisiana Longshot” by Jana Deleon. The story begins after Fortune Redding, a CIA assassin with more kills than anyone else, some planned and some spur of the moment, has just killed the only brother of an arms dealer by stabbing him with her spiked heel and …
Unusual premise. A bit far fetched. Fun.
Love these sinful ladies!

LOVE this series! Book one gets reader off to a good start, meeting the fiesty characters!
Laughed so hard my sides were hurting
I love the occasional cozy mystery, but this book caught me off guard. The characters are multi-faceted and quirky. Trouble seems to follow them where ever they go with hilarious results. I have read the first 10 books in this series in a week. I have not been able to quit reading and have had a migraine from laughing on more than one occasion.
Great story with original characters. This is the first in a series. It is laugh-out-loud funny.
I actually read it twice and still laughed. A very interesting mystery with a lot of wit mixed in. Will check out more books by this author as it was a pleasure to read.
