It was a hell of a long shot…. CIA assassin Fortune Redding is about to undertake her most difficult mission ever—in Sinful, Louisiana. With a leak at the CIA and a price placed on her head by one of the world’s largest arms dealers, Fortune has to go off-grid, but she never expected to be this far out of her element. Posing as a former beauty queen turned librarian in a small bayou town seems … town seems worse than death to Fortune, but she’s determined to fly below the radar until her boss finds the leak and puts the arms dealer out of play. Unfortunately, she hasn’t even unpacked a suitcase before her newly inherited dog digs up a human bone in her backyard.
Thrust into the middle of a bayou murder mystery, Fortune teams up with a couple of seemingly sweet old ladies whose looks completely belie their hold on the little town. To top things off, the handsome local deputy is asking her too many questions. If she’s not careful, this investigation might blow her cover and get her killed. Armed with her considerable skills and a group of elderly ladies the locals dub The Geritol Mafia, Fortune has no choice but to solve the murder before it’s too late.

I love this entire series!
It’s not often that I actually laugh at what I’m reading (for the right reasons) but this series is funny and engaging. I am now reading book 4 of the series. Have a laugh!
Funny is not correct. This book is hilarious.
A great read, loved the older ladies.

This was a good book. It was very funny and it had several twists in the storyline. Very entertaining.
A terrific fun read. I have not had so much enjoyment reading a story in a long time.
Love this book! One of the few that I have read more then once.
This was one of the funniest, mysterious books I’ve read. The characters are likable, silly enough to have you laughing out loud. The mystery is surprising, but really the best part is getting to know the characters. It’s a town I’d like to visit
This book was thoroughly enjoyable with episodes of laughing out loud so many times! Very well written & I loved the characters. I bought the next couple of books in series right away! Well done!!!

I laughed through this whole book.
I actually laughed aloud quite a few times while reading this book.
I laughed out loud as I pictured these escapades. I loved the witty dialogue. This book is a celebration of the strength of women without it being “in your face.”
This book is fun to read. The characters are lovable, nutty, and perfect for the over the top setting, which is a small southern town. If you enjoy laughing out loud, with a little romance thrown in, you will greatly enjoy this book and the entire series that comes after it.

“You really need to start exercising.”
“I’m seventy-two. How many reasons before I die do you think I’ll need to run?”
I piped up, “Banana pudding, man-eating alligators, texts from Gertie—”
-4 Stars!-
I love that this book is so original (hello-female assassin hiding out in the bayou!) And the lethal old ladies are hilarious as well. I love this series!
