It was a hell of a long shot…. CIA assassin Fortune Redding is about to undertake her most difficult mission ever—in Sinful, Louisiana. With a leak at the CIA and a price placed on her head by one of the world’s largest arms dealers, Fortune has to go off-grid, but she never expected to be this far out of her element. Posing as a former beauty queen turned librarian in a small bayou town seems … town seems worse than death to Fortune, but she’s determined to fly below the radar until her boss finds the leak and puts the arms dealer out of play. Unfortunately, she hasn’t even unpacked a suitcase before her newly inherited dog digs up a human bone in her backyard.
Thrust into the middle of a bayou murder mystery, Fortune teams up with a couple of seemingly sweet old ladies whose looks completely belie their hold on the little town. To top things off, the handsome local deputy is asking her too many questions. If she’s not careful, this investigation might blow her cover and get her killed. Armed with her considerable skills and a group of elderly ladies the locals dub The Geritol Mafia, Fortune has no choice but to solve the murder before it’s too late.

Oh My God! I love it so much! I’m seriously in danger of dying whenever I read anything that involves Ida Belle, Gertie, and Fortune! It’s too good!
It kept your attention. With just enough smiles to be good!
I think this book and the whole series should be in TV!!! I love every second of it, it really makes me laugh!! Each character is great!!! It is a happy book so I hope you guys enjoy it!!!
Start this series and you won’t stop until you’ve read all 12! Hilarious and so well-written
I’m a little late to the Miss Fortune party, but I’m so glad I’m here now! (And that there are 14 other books in the series waiting for me!) It’s a fun and action-packed romp, filled with lots of zany characters. It’s one of those books that I could “see” happening as I read along.
I enjoy a good mystery book, but when it’s wrapped up with crazy old ladies I love it even more. This book had a lot of surprises which kept me entertained. The friendships formed, mystery uncovered and plot twists are the best part about this book. Definitely a good one to pick up. I ended up purchasing the others in the series.
If you’re looking for a book to take your mind off of the news or anything else, this is your book. I love that it’s the beginning of a series because I love the four main characters and I can’t wait to read more about the Geritol Mafia and Fortune and Carter. Sinful, LA doesn’t know what hit it when Fortune moves there for her own protection.
Awesome book. Awesome writer
If you don’t want to get sucked into a series, then don’t start, cause once you start with this series you can’t put it down. Love this series so fun & different. Love this series of books, just got the latest “Frightfully Fortune ” and cant wait to finish it!
Overall great introduction to the world and the characters.
The small town cast was hilarious and quirky, so many great side characters to work with, I can tell this is going to be a fun series.
The CIA bits were at times under researched but didn’t pull me out of the story.
The mystery was well crafted and I loved the twist at the end. Make …
If your a fan of Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum, you’ll love this!
I love these books
It was too silly, repetitive. Didn’t finish
Louisiana Longshot is truly a laugh out loud cozy mystery. I loved the characters and their antics. I will definitely have to find the rest of the trilogy.
This book introduced the readers to Fortune Redding and the list of misfit characters in Sinful, Louisiana. It’s a great book you don’t want to miss. I’ve read it. Then listened to it on audible. I highly recommend any of Deleon’s books for a laugh-out-loud time.
I don’t usually laugh out loud when reading, but this series makes me smile, chuckle, and even laugh out loud at times. The premise of the book is funny, the characters are a hoot, and the situations they get into and the response of certain local law enforcement officer will keep a smile on your face. There’s a mystery to solve in each as well …
An entertaining read
I just love that these more mature ladies still know how to take care of business. They sure keep the town in order, as it should be.
I love this series! It has mystery but lots of quirky characters- including Kick butt women and a little romance.
