I never meant to say a word, not one single word. But I did. Now because of something I leaked–without even realizing it–I’ve inadvertently broken up one of the Ice Knights’ most legendary bromances. And worse–I’ve kicked hockey star Ian Petrov’s grumpy level to insane levels of grump. And what could make it worse? How about the two of us being trapped together in a remote cabin after a … a remote cabin after a massive blizzard. Neither of us can leave. Just us, the snow, his resentment, and OMG sexual tension so thick it would take a snowplow to break through it.
I’ve got to get out of here before I do something even dumber than I’ve already done and kiss the sexy grouch with his misplaced anger and perfect pecs. That would be the worst, the absolute worst. But… would it be terrible if we gave in? Just a little? It’s not like we’re ever going to have to spend time together again.
Until the next morning when we’re told we have to play chummy for the press until this news cycle blows over. F.M.L.

First can I just take a minute to gush over the gorgeous covers in this series!!? I love love love them! Illustrations are PERFECT! When I started this I was so excited and ready for Shelby’s story. There was some set up in the previous books but the author did not deliver to my expectations. It just fell flat. Shelby is a small time sports blogger who accidentally reveals Ian Petrov’s best friend is also his brother (Alex Christiansen) and from them on she is given the nickname ‘loud mouth’. Ian I loved. He has a heart of gold. Is patient, kind and exudes the usual charm and sex appeal we find in a hockey romance. The beginning was good the end was good but middle dragged and dragged. Like NOTHING was happened and I found myself bored with the story for a good portion in the middle of the story. They did have a ton of chemistry especially in the beginning (who doesn’t love a story where the characters are locked in away in a cabin due to a snowstorm) but boy did the push and pull get to be OTT at times. Unfortunately this was my least favourite of the Ice Knights books. It was okay. I didn’t hate it but it’s probably not one I’ll remember in a few months either.
Avery Flynn has scored with her latest standalone in her Ice Knights series! Loud Mouth is the perfect mix of funny, sweet, and sexy!
Avery Flynn is my go-to for fun, fast-read, feelgood romance. Add in a grumpy hero (ahhh, my favorite!) and the forced proximity of a snowstorm, and Loud Mouth had me up WAY past my bedtime!
Loud mouth is a fun story that will definitely put a smile on your face. From crazy situations to great banter, wonderful characters and a great storyline, this story had me engaged from the beginning to the end!
This audio was funny but had a bunch of angst. I couldn’t stop listening and the next thing I knew, the story was over!! I love the Ice Knights and I need more of these players in my life!!
So much fun! Stranded by a blizzard, Shelby and Ian have to come to terms that they may have started out as inadvertent enemies by circumstance and mistake but they turn into lovers and then friends in this flirty and sexy rom-com. Shelby writes a blog about the Ice Knights and and is employed by the team as part of their media when she is overheard, or really her mother is, telling a secret about the parentage of two of the players on the team. When this is goes viral and spins out of control Shelby just wants to run and hide for a few days and so rents a cabin. After an injury that will take him out of commission for a couple weeks and off the ice, Ian needs some down time and so he heads to a cabin and…Bam…meets the end of a taser…and Shelby, the one person he didn’t want to see. This entire story was so much fun and just what I needed this week! A great addition to this series. I had this one on my kindle but didn’t get to it and finally downloaded it in audio and loved the narrators.
This was exactly the fun fluffy read I needed this past weekend! Shelby and Ian start out with an enemies-to-lovers vibe, but truthfully that doesn’t last long since Shelby hadn’t meant to out Ian’s biggest secret and he realizes it fairly quickly. (Annnnnd they kinda fall into bed even quicker, which is a whole other story–but it was snowing! They were trapped together at the cabin! And there was only one…living room rug? 😉 )
Relationship pacing aside, I enjoyed the snark of this one as much as the swoon. Even when they were attempting to stick to their “what happens in a different zip code” relationship it was easy to root for them to reach their HEA.
(I also loved watching Ian and his brother come together against their common enemy–their a-hole sperm donor–and am crossing my fingers really, really hard that Alex is getting his own book too.)
Though this is the third book in the series, it could absolutely work as a standalone. If you’ve read Ms Flynn’s Hartigans series, though, you’ll love the part Lucy ( Muffin Top ) plays here as she tries to keep Ian, Alex, and the rest of the Ice Knights in line.
It’s a tough job, but she’s just the woman to do it 😉

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I really enjoyed this forced proximity/enemies-to-lovers/hockey romance. It is written in third person from dual POV.
Shelby and Ian both have some baggage. They are round and flawed characters who are both full of spunk and fight. I loved Shelby so much. She is tough while remaining vulnerable, loving while still trying to guard herself, and genuinely trying to be a good person and live her dream. Ian starts the book by receiving shocking news that throws him and makes him question everything. He is seriously struggling. I love how Shelby is able to tell him “how it is” and help him eventually deal with his past. His realization was beautiful to read. There are laughs and steam included in this story as well as one of the best “Please forgive me” scenes I have ever read- uber-romantic! The team relationships cannot go without mention: these guys are a tight knit group and I love the razzing they give each other. I especially love the relationship between Ian and Alex as it is truly something special.
Getting snowed leads to a lot more!
Ian Petrov is pissed that he was the last to find out that his best friend and teammate is his half-brother when he is accidently gets snowed in with Shelby Blanton, the same blogger that let the world know the family secret. Getting snowed in may be the best thing that happens to Shelby and Ian.
When I started reading this book, I had full expectations of a laugh out loud funny book. Instead I got a mostly angsty book with a great story, some funny parts, and a great couple. The heroine is very different from any heroine I had read before, so she captivated me. She tried to be a badass, with hard looks but she was a very decent human being. She just wanted to balance the squeak in her voice, her tiny frame, with a hard-ass appearance. I found her delightful!
Shelby met with Ian Petrov at a cabin that they both thought they had rented to be alone for the weekend. After she tased him, thinking he was a burglar, they had to spend the night, cozied up in front of the fireplace because there was a snow storm and the electricity went out. Eventually, they talked it out, had a hot one night stand, and next day they went home. After a short stop at the police station where they were almost arrested for house squatting. Read the book to learn the particulars, this was one of those funny scenes!
Initially Ian hated Shelby and blamed her for the scandal he was living through. She inadvertently let out that he and Alex Christensen were half-brothers. Alex knew, Ian didn’t. So now Ian hates his father, his half-brother (previously his best friend), and Shelby until the one-night stand. Now Shelby has started working for the Ice Knights hockey organization and is constrained from having relations with team members.
When the fun really starts is when the team leaves on an away trip, and Alex, Ian and Shelby are forced to share a table apart from the rest of the team (their sweet teammates call it “the kiddie table”). It’s a show to demonstrate to the press that they don’t have issues with each other. Ian and Shelby get close and Ian and Alex start to learn a new relation, that of brothers.
This book was great because there were so many layers to the story. Shelby is a recovering alcoholic with six years of sobriety, Ian has always had issues with his father and now with being compared to his more talented brother. It’s fantastically complicated so that it’s never boring and always an issue to deal with. I loved that Ian mostly communicates with grunts and that Shelby gets to a point where she can tell his grunts apart, and there are even amused grunts. It was fun, had some yummy angst, and great characters. And a love story with a great story pace! I was very pleasantly surprised!
Another visit to the Ice Knights nation. This time up its Ian Petrov (Ice Knight) & Shelby Blanton (The Biscuit) don’t want to give much the story away but loved the meet up before and after for these two. The connection that was immediate and off the charts. Go Ice Knights
Another great hockey read. Ian, the big behemoth and Shelby the squeaker make for a funny, super steamy romance. Dislike turns into hot passion. Glad Ian and Alex overcame the shadow of David Petrov.
Loud Mouth is a wonderful addition to the Ice Knights series. Shelby Blanton accidentally revealed a secret about two players on the Ice Knights hockey team. The reveal alienated Ian Petrov and his former best friend to the point of hatred, and added Shelby to Ian’s “ruiner of lives” list. When Shelby and Ian them find them snowed in at the same AirBnb, tension runs thick and it’s not just because they don’t want to be together. Succumbing to the sexual tensions seems like a safe bet because Ian and Shelby won’t ever have to be together again….until they are pulled together into a publicity stunt.
Shelby is an independent, hard-core blogger with rocker hair, tattoos, and piercings galore. Who would have thought she was a hockey fiend with the most popular hockey blog. She’s a strong character that has overcome a huge obstacle and led to the person she is today. Ian Petrov is continuously living the shadows of his slimy father, a hockey great. Ian has worked very hard to earn his own way in hockey. After he was sucker punched with information about his dad being a cheater and his best friend having insider information he neglected to share with Ian, he just crumbles. When Shelby and Ian unite after the catastrophe, their enemies-to-lovers story practically melts the pages. Their mutual hostility slowly disappears into a wonderful love story that almost wasn’t.
I love Shelby and Ian’s story. I enjoyed the way the author gave the characters flawed backgrounds, family issues, and true-to-life situations to handle. He might be a popular hockey player and she the blogger behind a wildly popular hockey blog, but they are not perfect. They don’t need each other to fix the damage, deal with their pasts, or handle their present issues, but as support persons as they muddle their way through life. Of course, it’s not easy and there are obstacles but Avery Flynn does a magnificent job of unraveling their layers and helping them move beyond the issues, especially Ian. I enjoyed the path the author took Shelby and Ian on in order find their happily-ever-after.
Avery Flynn is a wonderful storyteller with unique characters, themes, and settings. Her stories pull you in and keep you thoroughly engaged and entertained. I have enjoyed all three books in the Ice Knights series.
I was provided a copy of this book to read
This was a great book! I loved the banter between Ian and Shelby. Once I started reading I couldn’t put the book down.
Another comical Ice Knight story from Avery! After the mess for Ian’s life unintentionally caused by Shelby, both of them are looking for a short vacation to decompress and have some peace while figuring out what to do with what happened. By accident, these two end up at the same place for their vacations and end up getting snowed in which causes them to confront everything that happened while also working through the chemistry between them. But when they are rescued and go back into the real world, things start to get difficult between them. I feel like throughout the course of the story I was wishing these two would come to their senses, especially Ian. With that said, I was really happy how the ending for this couple was the best of both worlds for them, and I am hoping that we see more of this series in the future from this author!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Avery Flynn rocked this book! It’s my favorite ice nights book so far. I absolutely loved it! It was funny. The dialogue was witty, and the story was engaging! Lots of other reviews summarized the book very well so I’ll refrain. One click this book! You won’t regret it.
Avery Flynn’s Ice Knights series just keeps getting better! Loud Mouth is book three in the series and is the story of Shelby and Ian. This enemies to lovers story has everything you could want…two witty characters, a love/hate dynamic and chemistry that jumps right off of the pages! I couldn’t turn those pages fast enough to see what happened to Ian and Shelby. This laugh out loud story has it all!
YAY!!! I loved every word of this book! It is such a fun book that will keep you laughing. Throw in a little bit of drama and some sexy times, and it is absolutely perfect. I love how the main characters ‘hate’ each other from the start, all because of a misunderstanding. From the start, there are some serious fireworks going off in that snowbound cabin!
This is the 3rd book in this series and its an a read that draws you in and keeps you entertained throughout.
Ian Petrov has been blindsided by a secret held by his Father. His best mate and team mate Alex is actually his half-brother. He doesn’t handle the news well and ends up being off the team after hurting his thumb and rents a bnb in the mountains so he can drown his sorrows in peace and alone. He never expected to find the blogger that accidentally let the secret out already at the cabin.
After being snowed in the tension between them finally starts thawing but the chemistry between them starts to seriously heat up!
Avery Flynn brought humour, heat and banter to this one and im looking forward to seeing what she brings us next.
“Loud Mouth” by Avery Flynn was another delightful addition to the Ice Knights series, and I loved it. It reads as a complete standalone so those who have not yet picked up the earlier books in the series can jump in here with no problems. That said, the first two books were also tremendously entertaining and laugh-out-loud funny, so I highly recommend them, no matter the order in which you read them.
The main characters of this story, Shelby Blanton and Ian Petrov, were both incredibly likeable and well-developed, and I found it very easy to root for them to figure out a way to be together. Shelby was an interesting character because she was so tough on the outside with her half-shaved head and tattoos, but she was protecting a tender heart and nursing a lot of old wounds. Petrov had his share of hidden wounds too, and I think that’s one of the reasons they were drawn to each other. Shelby and Petrov fought their feelings for a lot of reasons, but in the end, they just worked as a couple, and I wanted to cheer when they finally stopped fighting and realized that they would be happier together than apart.
This story was a bit more serious than the previous two books in the series, but was still quite funny and lighthearted with several scenes that made me laugh out loud. My favorite was when Petrov was forced to play babysitter for an infant on the team plane. I have to admit he did pretty well for a guy who had no experience with babies, but it was very amusing to see his frustration along the way.
Overall, “Loud Mouth” was a funny, sweet story that I highly recommend for all fans of contemporary romance and romantic comedy, particularly those who are fans of sports/hockey romances. Hopefully this isn’t the last we’ll see of the Ice Knights! At the very least, I’d love to see Alex Christensen get a story of his own. 😉
