IT’S GETTING HOT IN HERE!!!
Hey guys, right here is where you want to be. Nope, no joke all kidding aside. This remarkable spin of a regency romance is refeshing and a slendid way to pass a few hours. If you’re looking for excitement, suspense, action, steady paced with a strong plot to keep you captivated until the last word. Congrats my friends you’ve just stepped off in it. You have it all, all the heart pounding, pulse racing, adrenaline pumping and a chemistry so hot between the two main characters its explosive. The characters were intriguing and complex with a undeniable connection between the two main characters. Their bond is white hot, off the charts, it burns brighter than the sun and is hotter than an erupting volcano. The scenes were so realistic and believable with such vivid detailed descriptions that brought you back to ground zero in the regency era. Twists, turns and a multitude of unexpected surprises that will keep your attention on this page turning bombshell. Murdoch did a phenomenal job bringing this read together beautifully. Remarkable job Emily, thanks for sharing this little jewel with us.
( received an advance copy and this is my honest opinion)
As with other books by Emily that I’ve had the pleasure to read and review , this is another winner ( for me ) .
Love the beginning of this story with our lost and damaged soul in an area he shouldn’t be , looking for a means to an end ….but finds someone and the one thing he never thought to find …his heart and a love for all time…..
But what of his intended liason???? Teresa??? ( Emily , appetizer you provided…..can’t wait to read this next book in this series …Cheers!!)
A romantic novellette
This is a romantic novella about two lonely people who discover love at first sight in the most peculiar of places. Lord George is a lost, lonely soul. Florence is far from everything she knows. Their encounter is electric. George’s sadness and loneliness is so heartfelt. The feeling of being utterly alone is horrible, and it is depicted vividly. Florence is feisty and has a short temper!
This is a very well told novella. The plot was intricate and fast paced. It had romance and passion. It was focused on the two main characters the whole time and the development of that relationship was spot on.
I am really enjoying this novella series, if you want a quick, fun, romantic read this book is for you!
Really good book!
Great read!! Nice love story with sweet characters.
Didn’t want to stop reading.
The author wrote some humorous parts in it.
I enjoyed this first book in the new Ravishing Regencies series & look forward to Book 2. I didn’t get pulled in to the book but it did have endearing characters & the story was different than the normal regency tale with no balls or Ton. Lord George Northmere is a 30 yr. old 4th son of a Duke & is lonely until he meets Florence Capria, a daughter of an Italian courtesan – fireworks fly & it is love after they were forced to stay in a hovel for safety reasons after a gang fight broke out at the London docks. I recommend this book to any historical romance reader.
Enjoyable and somewhat steamy
This is the first book in the “Ravishing Regencies” series. I liked it. I think that this novella had a few flaws, but it is a solid start to a great series. (I have read Book #2 already, and that one is fantastic!).
Florence is young Italian woman and the daughter of a courtesan. As she frantically roams London’s docks trying to find a ship that will take her back to Italy, she encounters a lonely young nobleman named George, and they get lost together.
The sensual love scene was extremely well written; the author has a real talent for that. However, I did not quite get immersed in the story. Also, there were two flaws that stood out to me. First, Florence had no virgin pain, which is so unrealistic it is laughable. Secondly, Florence had fled from Italy due to mafia violence in Rome. I fact-checked this, and the mafia did not exist at all during the Regency period.
Overall, I liked it. I am glad that I read it because “Drenched with a Duke” (Book #2 in the series) is fantastic, and refers to some characters in “Lost with a Lord”.
I received a free advanced reading copy, and I voluntarily wrote this honest review.
Enjoyed this story of a chance encounter that turned in to much more. Good story.
A swexy historical romance in the unusual setting on the docks of London. Lord George & Florence meet under very strange circumstances, both on a search for something they believe will lead to happiness. Little do they know happiness is very close in the most unlikely of places with the most unlikely person. Ms. Murdoch weaves a very different tale of love with ease and skill leaving you rooting for this sweet couple.
Dark and dangerous place to meet, Florence encountered George. Fearing for their safety, they found sanctuary from the violence in each other’s arms. Their lives were changed from that point on. This story had me turning pages to see what would have next. There was romance, some danger, and forgiveness. I enjoyed this read and look forward to the next in this series.
I received an ARC as a gift, and this is my unsolicited review.
A fairly short read, Lost with a Lord is about mistaken identities and potentially lost opportunities. When Lord George’s brother arranges an alliance with a lady of the night for his brother, Lord George finds himself in a very awkward situation indeed. Firstly he is in one of the worst areas of the London docks and secondly there is no young lady…… until there is. Only the young lady is not whom he thought she was and she gives him a strong scolding for thinking otherwise. There is humour and same danger in this story, but it is ultimately Miss Florence Capria who takes the reins in her hands and takes up the challenge. I enjoyed this sweet story and it filled an enjoyable gap. I received a copy of this book for free as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
Cute, sweet, a nice little foray into what-ifs and cross-continent romance.
Sometimes sooner is better than later. In this story’s case sooner worked out fine. Love hit swift and sure. The main characters at the best of times were a bit of an idiot. The love scenes didn’t have any spark, it just happened. Just a little steamy without the steam. Still this is an entertaining short story.
Way too much time spent describing how beautiful each one thought the other was.
I love regencies, but not this one. Highly unlikely, characters unexplored. A dud
Not great, the story line weak
