Vampires in Burberry? Well, that sucks! Welcome to the Lost Souls ParaAgency, where agents work together to ensure the safety of humans and to prevent exposure of the paranormal community. The Assignment—observe and report on Burberry’s most reluctant witch, Ally Walker.Sidney Cross is serving out his probation for some blood-sucking crimes committed in the early 1900s. On loan to the LSP, he’s … to the LSP, he’s one assignment away from working off his debt. All he has to do is monitor an elementary school teacher who refuses to acknowledge her witch ancestry and make sure she stays that way. With a charmed amulet that allows him to roam free during the day, and a witch who has zero interest in magic, this humdrum assignment should be a piece of cake. What could possibly go wrong?
Thanks to a water pipe mishap at Ally Walker’s elementary school (which may or may not have been caused by her younger sister) she’s got a four-day, school-free weekend. Add that her sisters and great-aunts are headed off to the woods for a magic retreat, and Ally couldn’t be happier to fill in at the Tea Haven. Until the mayor decides to host a couple of famous illusionist YouTubers and Ally is volun-told to oversee their show. The fake magic brings more trouble than Ally needs.
Then a mysterious man ends up in Tea Haven’s freezer, and it looks like he’s been relieved of his blood. Sidney is reluctant to call in the LSP since he’s pretty certain he’s first on the suspect list. He needs Ally’s help, and he won’t take no for an answer.
All Ally wants is a normal existence without all the paranormal, but Sidney definitely brings out her witchy side in more ways than one. She’ll do whatever it takes to get him out of her life.
To put things right, they’ll work together to solve this blood-sucking mystery before Burberry turns into a town of terror. Again.

I enjoyed this book. This is book 3 and it’s the turn of another sister to find love. They are stand alone stories but I think it is best listened to in order because otherwise you miss out on a lot of back story, that helps with the enjoyment of this one. The characters are fun and each book focuses on a different sister, all of which are very different from each other but it continues from where the last book left off so the others still play apart in the story. The mystery was good and I liked the way the main characters powers played apart in solving the mystery or getting them out of trouble. It’s just a fun listen, that I hope continues, if only to find out what the three aunts are up to.
Ally is left in charge of her sisters cafe, while her two sisters and three aunts are off on a witches retreat. Ally has no wish to join them and In fact doesn’t want to even acknowledge her witchy powers, she has turned her back on the whole thing to become a teacher. With everybody away from the village the Lost souls paragency council decide that Ally will need some guarding and send in probation recruit Sidney Cross, a vampire that is on probation for his crimes. He just needs to stay in the shadow and keep an eye on her for any trouble. Things don’t go to plan when the mayor’s estranged husband if found dead in Ally’s kitchen with bite marks in his neck. Sidney is worried that the LSP will blame him, as the only vampire in the area and convinces Ally that the two of them can solve the murder themselves if only given a little time. With the clock ticking the pair must investigate two YouTube bloggers, as well as the mayor herself. Will they be able to find out who or what killed the man now hidden in Ally freezer?
I have listened to a number of books read by Carrie Coello and think she has done an excellent job with each one, good voices and enough emotion or excitement to keep the book she is reading enjoyable.
This series keeps getting better and better. I like how each book has a sister to focus on which I really find exciting. This book must be read to the very end.
SO good! So so so good!!!
Where books 1 were mainly about Amira and Lex, this book is about Sidney and Ally. And Sidney? Well… he’s a vampire! On probation! And Ally? She’s one of the Walker sisters: so she’s a witch! A reluctant witch, but a witch all the same!
What could possibly go wrong? When that question is asked, you know everything is going to go wrong! Magical mayhem, a vampire who’s paying his debt, a reluctant witch who wants to have nothing to do with magic, fake magic, real magic, innocent magic, dangerous magic, and now: a body without blood. Or, at least, with less blood than it should have. It looks like the work of a vampire. Whoops. And all Ally wants is no magic. But clearly, that’s too much to ask.
This was a humorous story. Which I absolutely LOVED. The pages turned themselves! A quick read. It was well-written, funny, suspenseful and more-ish. It was awesome awesome awesome! I SO LOVED IT! When Sidney and Ally first meet, that part was sooo funny. It was just SO good! A great mystery, and also some lovely, heartwarming romance.
The narrator did a great job! Pleasant, understandable.
And a bonus short story from Ris at the end!
Quickly became one of my very favorite series. Awesome addition of Sidney to the Burberry residents. He brings out so many good things from stuffy Ally. I was rooting for Sidney from page 1. Great mystery involving the Mayor’s ex-husband and missing pets. Loved seeing a different side of Ally. The Mayor and Mrs. Lorsenson are hilarious. Can’t wait to find out what the bigger mystery with the Council is. Lovely town with great characters. Already started the next book.
A fun and humorous book. This series is absolutely wonderful. Love the characters, they are so quirky and really hold your interest. This story centers around Ally who wants nothing more than to be a magicless school teacher. Although her family consists of practicing witch’s, Ally wants no part of the magic. This story will hold your interest and entertain you, try it and see.
A funny and flirty paranormal cozy. As well as an original take on the vampire legends. I’m all the way team Sidney and was from the start! I can’t wait to read more!

Book three in the Romantic Paranormal Mystery series a story I found myself smiling through. This is a short quick story to read. This is reluctant witch and elementary school teacher Ally Walker and Vampire Sidney Cross’ story. I want to read the other books in this series. Cute and Cozy Paranormal Mystery
This cute and cozy paranormal mystery is a fun, novella-length story. Lots of things go wrong. Many people are not who they say they are. The plot is well done and very simple. Cute series.
I received this ARC book for free from Booksprouts and this is my honest review.
If you like cozy mysteries and looking for a fun one to read, then this could be one for you, I was able to read this book in just a few hours. Quick, fast and easy to read.
This is my first book with this author and did not realize that this was book 3 in a series. I can honestly say that you can read this and follow along just fine. There are a couple of references to previous stuff, like family curse that will make you want to read previous books .
This is my honest and freely given review. I did receive an ARC(?) book.
This was such a fun paranormal story. The mystery involves and the literal sparks between Ally and vampire Sidney was fascinating. The supporting characters were interesting and quirky. I received a complimentary copy and this review is voluntary.
I don’t generally read paranormal or cozy mysteries, but the book description appealed to me so I decided to try it. I’m so glad I did, It was just the kind of lighthearted book that I was in the mood for.
Ally is sweet but sensible, while Sidney is a guy coming up for air after hitting paranormal rock bottom. They don’t seem all that compatible at first glance, but their relationship develops as naturally as one can while investigating a murder, lol, and they find as they work together that they have complementarity as well as compatibility. Ally is the perfect antidote for Sidney’s cynicism, and Sidney helps Ally to develop confidence and venture out of her comfort zone.
This is book 3 in a series, but even with references to previous events, it works fine as a standalone. Still, it has succeeded in piquing my interest to read the others, anyway. I look forward to checking out the rest of her work.
Clean romance level: sweet kisses

Lost Souls ParaAgency and the Illusion of a Vampire #3 – This is my first read by this author and I loved it. I did not know this was a series, there were a few mentions of the past, but it did not take away from this book – a standalone for sure. The storylines are interesting with plenty of humor. The characters, even the baddies, are interesting and believable. None of them acted stupid and some even had intelligence.
There is an event mentioned but not delved into so it is a nice surprise to find the details after the story ended. Looks like there will be another character added to the gang in the next book. I had so much fun reading this book that it finished too soon with the steadily moving pace. The mystery is a good one, better than the usual cozy. There is an overview, which I appreciate knowing about a book before I read it. I found this book on Booksprout. 4*
Right Witch Wrong Time #5 – While I was reading Mourning Express, this book popped up on Booksprout. Again, being clueless about this series and having enjoyed the last two books I read, I thought, why not. This book is different from the other two concerning the low level of humor because of the serious mood in the storylines. The storylines are interesting, but time travel to the 80s wasn’t my cup of time, I didn’t like the 80s. The mysteries the investigator worked on were interesting, a daughter discovering her mother who died at childbirth. Still a good book to read, just not for me. 4*
Mourning Express #3 – After reading Lost Souls #3, I discovered this book in my library. I had read Sam Cheever’s addition to the Funeral Fakers, loved it, and thought why not read this one, too. Well written with interesting storylines, even though it is sad about Grammy, there was plenty of humor, some out loud bursts. The characters are well written and entertaining, with plenty of good dialog. Rosie actually has a bit of IQ about her. The mystery was not bad, with the usual redirects. 4*
I really enjoyed this book! It is such a fun read! This is book 3 in the series and follows the story of a different sister that the pervious 2 books. I really like both the characters. Sidney is a very interesting vampire. I like how the relationship develops between Ally and Sidney. I really enjoy how the magic and paranormal abilities are explained and incorporated into the book. I highly recommend this book. I love this whole series! I can’t wait to read the next book.
I received this book for free. I am voluntarily posting this review and any opinions expressed herein are my own.
This is the third book in the Lost Souls Paragency series. It is a standalone.
I have not read the first book in the series but I have read the second. I found that I followed the characters better in this book than in the second and I enjoyed this one more. It was a cute story and I liked the addition of Sydney to the mix making it more interesting.
The narrator, Carrie Coello, did a nice job as always.
