Moving back home to my parents’ cattle ranch in Texas was the last thing I thought I’d be doing. But, here I stand … in front of my high school girlfriend. A beautiful, confident woman has replaced the young girl I once knew and loved. Hell. I’m still in love with her.Yep. Paxton Monroe was my first love and the one girl in town who now hated my guts. So much so, Paxton swore her revenge on me if … revenge on me if it took her until the day she died.
The fight between my heart and my head, starts tonight. Because all I can think about is how I broke her heart, or how I left her when she needed me the most.
But who will win? My heart is too broken to listen to my head. Not until it gets what it wants and what it wants is Paxton Monroe.

I absolutely fell in love with this second chance romance. Do you remember when you were 18 and you did or said stupid things? Well Steed definitely did that and it literally made me gasp on why and what he said. THEN to leave for 10 years?! I wanted to hurt him bodily. Even when he was gone he didn’t want to hear anything about Paxton.
When he comes back with his daughter Chloe (who I absolutely loved!!) and unexpectedly runs into Paxton it about breaks my heart then too. (I had tears quite a few times in the book – sadness but I also had happy tears!)
You can feel the chemistry from these two has not diminished at all even with all the time spent apart but you can feel the love that these two share too. When they would talk about what happened and about how they felt, yep, you guessed it….tears. Steed’s reactions about made me a blubbering mess.
Will Paxton be able to forgive him or will she make good on her threat? Will they be able to overcome everything that happened? I loved meeting this family and can’t wait to read all about them.
Let’s start off by saying this is a new author for us a we really loved our first read by them. What a fantastic love story with tons of love emotion and friendship.
I enjoyed the characters they were easy to connect with as they had you falling in love with from the onset. Those hunky Parker brothers where crude, sexist, humorous and hot as hell we loved them all .With their sense of humor, abundance of love, camaraderie ,joking & teasing around made them a lot of fun to read about as well as making us laugh out loud more than once throughout the story.Lets not forgot the sisters as well especially Amelia what a sense of humor that girl had. She is a erotic romance writer and had at won over just with that.We love anyone who writes hot romances we like right ?
(grins)
Paxton and Steed have a love that stood the test of time.Paxton and Steed being apart for 10 years has not dulled the passion and spark but, past regrets and bad decisions and hurtful words or not easily put to rest and Steed is going to have to fight tooth and nail to get back the only women he has ever loved.
The chemistry this couple has was amazing .Steed did the sweetest and the most romantic things to win back Paxton.I was in awe with him.I love romantic men.
I always pick a favorite character in a story my top favorite this time around was Chloe .Omg she was just so adorable and the sweetest and loving little girl. She brought smiles and happiness to all those around her.She had all her Aunts and Uncles wrapped around her little finger for just being the love-able and caring child she was.I loved how she loved her father and always wanted him to be happy and not sad.If I didn’t love her already she would have won me over when she walked down the wedding aisle with her pet goat that put a smile on my face and it was one of the most precious moments in the entire story, she was just too cute!
I loved being on Paxton’s and Steed’s amazing journey of finding their way back to one another again and how they were able to put old hurts to rest and move on and grab the happiness they were creating in the now and making those dreams they once had a reality. This story was filled with tons of emotion both happy and sad.I loved it from beginning to end and in the middle a touching love story of not just about two people but three.
Paxton, Steed,Chloe…
Recommended read to all!
5 stars from us
I initially rated this 4 stars because it was a decent read, and then I remembered just how much Paxton bothered me. Paxton told Steed to leave and never come back, so he did. She really can’t be mad about that. If she had wanted to contact him, his family would have helped. Then when he came back she still kept telling him to go away and would be upset when he did. You can’t do that. When she said she had saw a therapist during their separaion, I couldn’t help but think she should have got a refund
I absolutely loved Lost Love, the first book the Cowboys and Angesl series, by Kelly Elliott! I could not put it down. Who doesn’t love big families, cowboys and love stories. Kelly Elliott has once again proven that she is an incredible story teller. I love that she writes her stories in the first person from the perspective of the main characters. I love getting inside their minds and knowing their thoughts and how they really feel. Lost Love is filled with promises broken and renewed and secrets shared and discovered. I truly love the lighter moments of Lost Love where I found myself smiling and laughing. My favorite moments are the ones that cause me to sigh, say aww to myself with tears filling my eyes. Lost Love is filled with such moments. Lost Love is about high school sweethearts, Paxton Monroe and Steed Parker. During their senior year, Paxton discovers that she is pregnant. Steed is not thrilled with that news. After their graduation ceremony, Paxton informed Steed that she miscarried their baby and that she hated him. The plan had been that Paxton and Steed would go to college together. Instead, Steed broke up with Paxton and ran away to Oregon, to attend college. . Steed returns to home with his daughter, Chloe to be closer to his family. Steed soon discovers that Paxton is a school teacher and will be Chloe’s kindergarten teacher. Tempers flare when the first time they see each other. Paxton had dreamed that she would be the mother of Steed’s children, so is heartbroken to discover some other women had that honor. As Paxton and Steed begin to spend time together, they both realize that they each still had feelings for the other. Steed apologizes to Paxton for his actions toward her and their unplanned pregnancy. My favorite part was Chloe and her goat Patches! Once again Kelly Elliott writes about strong, beautiful women and hot, sexy men, I love all her characters, especially when big families are included. Who doesn’t love reading a story about lovers that are given a second chance at love. Lost Love is filled with bittersweet and poignant moments and the surprise plot twists, that I have come to love and expect in Kelly Elliott’s stories. Lost Love is a wonderfully written story and I loved every moment. Highly recommend this beautifully written story.
Paxton and Steed had everything going for them, going to Texas A&M University in the fall, living together, the whole world was waiting! Until the inevitable happened, Steed was stunned and scared and abandoned Pax to face it all on her own. When he came to his senses, Paxton had suffered yet another blow and blamed Steed directly. After screaming and sobbing in pain and anger she told him to leave, and never come back. And being a sad, guilty young man, Steed did just that.
Steed has been gone from Texas for 10 long years, but now he’s back and he’s not alone.
Love Lost is the cautionary tale of what miscommunication, anger, and fear will do to destroy not just one relationship, but the relationship of a family trying to comfort a sad, young girl without knowing why. When Steed and Pax finally lay all their cards down the guilt and sorrow almost overwhelms them both.
Watching Steed’s outpouring of grief and anger, Paxton realizes she never stopped loving him and that her own anger contributed to the forced separation of 10 long years. Now can she forgive herself for pushing Steed away, and can Steed forgive himself for almost destroying the life of a young woman who means so much to him?
A beautifully sad, amazing story of loss and forgiveness, and a couple learning to find their way to the now in a life neither of them ever imagined.
Worth 6 spectacular s, Kelly Elliott sucked me in and made me fall in love with the Cowboys & Angel’s series in the first chapter. On to book two, Love Profound!
Gawh a new series by Kelly Elliott!!!!!! I absolutely love this new book and how it kicks off a new series. This series is all about the Parker siblings. The first sibling you read about in this book is Steed. I have to say I think he is my favorite Parker brother. I adored Chloe and her whole part in the book.
Lots of sex, some story but very repetitive. They were h.s. Lovers, she got pregnant and he didn’t support her and he left for college. She lost the baby. He comes back with a child from a marriage that fell apart. After much going back and forth as to whether she forgives him, they hook up and have sex like rabbits. That’s the gist of the book!.
5 Star Review Lost Love (Cowboys & Angels #1) by Kelly Elliott
Wow, I have no words to express how much I loved Lost Love, the first book in the Cowboys & Angels series by Kelly Elliott.
What a great start to her new series, this book had it all. My heart just about broke for Paxton and at times I feared she would never recover. Enter Steed Parker, the love of her life and the man that hurt her beyond measure. Lost Love is a second chance at love and what a spectacular love story it is.
I fell in love with all the characters in this book, particularly Chloe, who throughout the book made my heart melt and really stole the show. What a courageous and beautiful little girl and her dad (Steed isn’t too bad either).
This was one of those books I wanted to take slowly to savour the story and yet I found myself riveted to the book and kept on reading, just one more chapter.
I loved the banter between Steed and his brothers and sisters; their scenes together made for some snort worthy moments throughout the book.
Lost Love deals with some serious heartache, but it also shows how determination, forgiveness, love and hope can overcome such tragedy and make a difference. I loved this book from start to finish and so cannot wait for the next story in the series, which I believe is out in September.
Congratulations Ms.Elliott you have another winning series on your hand.
Wonderful
Kelly Elliott has done it again!!!
Lost Love was absolutely phenomenal! This author always knows how to add in just the right amount of everything. There was a perfect balance between the romance and steam. As well as the real emotion and the sentimentality.
These characters were written to absolute perfection. Whilst reading I felt as though I truly knew the characters and everything they were going through and dealing with.
I definitely enjoyed this novel! Go and pick it up today!

Good read
Enjoyed this book very much. More of an adult theme.
This book made me cry, I wanted to shake the main characters. Then I wanted to yell at the characters but in the end I was so happy. I had so many emotions through this journey within this page-turner.
Loved this book!
I will probably read the series, it is a fun easy read!
I really enjoyed it just a little too much sap.
Warning: sexually explicit
Every woman wishes they had a man love them as much as the main character loved the girl. Love books with children in them.
A good read
