The vision has haunted him for four years–a young woman lying crumpled in death, her hand outstretched in silent supplication. Harry Bosch was taken off the Angella Benton murder case when the production assistant’s death was linked with the violent theft of two million dollars from a movie set. Both files were never closed. Now retired from the L.A.P.D., Bosch is determined to find justice for … justice for Angella. Without a badge to open doors and strike fear into the guilty, he’s on his own. And even in the face of an opponent more powerful and ruthless than any he’s ever encountered, Bosch is not backing down.

Once again a Michael Connelly book that I absolutely loved. In this book Detective Harry Bosch is retired and he’s working a cold case that has been bothering him for years. A two million dollar heist and the murder of a woman. Since it’s written in the first person we’re allowed insights into Bosch’s thought process. It’s a wonderful read, full …
It’s been several months since Harry Bosch retired from his job as a homicide detective in Los Angeles. He’s attempting to adjust to life as a civilian, but he can’t resist when another former cop mentions a cold case they’d both worked on. Angella Benton was strangled in the entrance to her apartment building. Just as Bosch was beginning to …
Best Bosch yet. This one is written in the first person so we are able to get into Harry’s head — to know what makes him tick.
My favorite in the absolutely amazing Bosch series. The ending knocked me out.
I can’t get enough of Harry Bosch.
always good reads by Connelly
Michael Connelly and Harry Bosch — a wonderful combination!
Another good one! I like the call out to Elvis Cole.
My favorite character, Harry Bosch, has recently retired as an LAPD detective. He begins delving into an unsolved death, that he wants to solve, but runs into walls within the LAPD.
As always a Harry Bosch book does not disappoint.
Harry Bosch is now retired from the force but not from bringing trouble down on his own head. When he decides to look into a cold case that has haunted him for four years, he is warned by everyone to back off. But we all know Harry won’t do that. After following a maze of clues and almost getting himself killed, he discovers who his real …
Good read
Connelly- the best.
One of the better early bosch books…one of the best in this genre.
Michael Connelly is a terrific story teller. Personally I prefer his Lincoln Lawyer series to the Harry Bosch books.
I’ve read every one of his books and look forward to new ones always!
All of the books in this series are intelligent, compelling and suspenseful. This is no one exception. It is also the basis of first season Bosch t.v. series.
Harry Bosch never disappoints. I love that it is equally enjoyable to read Connelly’s Bosch series in or out of chronological order. Either way, you learn new things about Harry’s world. Also, they all deserve a re-read after a bit.
Loved it
Love harry Bosch series
I’ve never read a Michael Connelly book I did not like. I have read every one of his books and each is a masterpiece
