Wow another cliff hanger but an amazing ending!!
Rachel finally decides to listen to Laurie & tell Landon how she truly feels about him.
Landon- OMG he doesn’t know what to say? Shock, disbelief that a beautiful capable, loving woman inside & out, can love the damaged, unlovable Mr. Court. Without wanting anything in return, money, fame. Just for him? What a realization for Landon. Maybe Adian was right he can have happiness & be loved?
But while Landon doesn’t say anything or reject her. He is breaking Rachel’s heart by being silent. Which is why Rachel decides to leave Landon in San Francisco after a night of heated passion. This time her walking out is because she wants him to come to her when & if he can love her.
When Rachel gets back in NY several changes & surprises await her. First her Ex-lover Jack has decided to leave the magazine, he says he is leaving because he is in love with her. It’s too hard to see her knowing he lost her. (I never really believed the story he loved R. F. I think Jack just didn’t like losing. Laura her cousin finally reconciled with Brent & the wedding is on!!! Yeah!
Then the dream job Rachel wanted within the magazine that she applied for Two years ago calls her up for an interview. Though with all the changes & reasons for contentment. Rachel still has an empty heart without Landon. I guess he can move on with someone else. So she thinks???? She was just a temporary need for him?
Or was she? Determined to forget about him, Rachel submerges herself in work and in the preparations for her cousin’s destination wedding.
A few weeks later she receives a surprise of a lifetime Landon at Laurie & Brett’s engagement party. Landon to admit to Rachel that he truly love her & cannot live without her. Will she listen? Can Rachel believe that Landon can be in love with her? Landon wants Rachel with him forever. Just the way she is, with her talents, trust, love for him. Landon is determined to be the best man he can be for Rachel. With Rachel by his side he knows there is more than work. He knows now what it means to be in love with someone heart & soul. To have a soulmate, the other half of a person’s heart is what is what life is worth living for.
For these two passionate lovers it will be very easy to get lost in each other, but Landon’s past comes back to haunt him with such force, it threatens to separate Landon & Rachel, forever.
Unfortunately, their reconciliation is brief because of continued secrets, threats from the Sinclair’s. After finding out about another hidden meeting with none other than Ava Sinclair. Unfortunately Rachel doesn’t realize until they have their argument that Landon has been holding back the escape of Evan Sinclair from rehab & has made serious threats to Landon & Rachel. Landon thinks that having Ava handle her brother would be productive & get him out of his madness. How ridiculous!
When Rachel finally hears the truth about the the additional security Landon has provided. She is upset that he didn’t trust her enough to tell her the truth. That she is still just considered his trophy & temporary replacement & not his partner until he gets back with his so called true love Ava. YUCK! Which in fact is all in Rachel’s head because of the manipulating games that Ava has put into Rachel mind.
Truth is Landon doesn’t know how to deal with a partner, he has always tried to protect the people he loves after he couldn’t save his mother. Then he went to parent mode for his brother Aidan since their father just went into an acholic haze after his wife died.
When Landon finally hears what Rachel says why she walked away because she loved him. He looks at not telling her the seriousness of the issue with the Sinclair’s as his way of loving & protecting her. He doesn’t want to loss Rachel.
Rachel not opening her feelings about Landon sooner is because she still believes that Landon doesn’t want a commitment. She doesn’t want to be rejected by the man she considers the love of her life. What she doesn’t understand is that he does love her & his way of showing it is by protecting her from threats. Instead of treating her like his partner & equal. They both need to learn communication, & how to work as a couple & not assume what the other one is thinking.
Both character’s fear of rejection is the reason for them not opening up about their emotions until it’s necessary. That is the reason for Rachel walking out due to love. Landon keeping secret meetings with Ava is because he loves Rachel.
Will their true love fall apart again, when Ava almost gets killed by her brother?
Landon doesn’t inform Rachel that Evan Sinclair has escaped rehab & cannot be found? Landon will do anything to protect the ones he loves. Extra bodyguards on Adian & Rachel. Landon’s nightmares are not that he cannot save his mother. But in fact, it’s Rachel that is in danger. What happens when Rachel is held at gunpoint at their apartment? Can Landon save her in time? Or will he lose her too? Will Rachel survive to tell Landon her news? Can they finally admit that their love for each other is stronger & can survive anything that is thrown at them? This series was amazing.
We get to read about some really lovely moments & many emotional rollercoasters!
This book was enthralling closer to the end. Love the epilogue so sweet.
Read Rachel & Landon’s story!
What a way to end this series. I absolutely loved this book. Rachel finds herself surrounded by change both personally and professionally. She’s anxious and learning to deal with the changes and with the biggest one of all…how to live without the person she loves most. Rachel and Landon grew as characters throughout their ups and downs and it was nice to watch them love and respect each other. The epilogues were really cute and sweet. Loved getting a glimpse into the future. I did want to see a more of Landon dealing with his past and hope that with Aidan’s story coming sometime in the future that we might see that.
I recommend this series to anyone who’s up for a sweet love story driving on a bumpy road but willing to find a happy ending.
I really enjoyed this book. The writing is as capturing as it was in the first two books.
We get to read about some really lovely moments but at some parts – especially in the middle – there isn’t much happening. A lot of sex like in the first two books. Steamy but I find it tedious that there is a sex scene in every few pages. It sometimes felt like they were thrown in everywhere possible as page fillers, even though they aren’t badly written, it was just slightly too often for my liking.
Serena Grey really knows how to create her characters and makes them lovable for us readers. I enjoyed reading about every single one of them, even Jack’s mother or Evans Sinclair. If good or bad, the characters are convincingly created.
This book was enthralling closer to the end.
I loved the beautiful ending and the epilogue was so sweet. At about 78% I loved the story till the end because it got a lot more to it than just sex. There was some emotional rollercoaster going on. Beginning and ending in this book was super. The middle part was good.
