Lost in Vengeance, Wolf Creek Shifters Book #1 by H. R. Savage
I was given the ebook from the author for an honest review but I did purchase the audio book to listen too.
I am a sucker for a shifter series. I also loved this authors dystopia book and so I politely begged for this book as well. LOL I will say I am very excited for a new to me series to continue to read.
The narration for this story was enjoyable. Sometimes, you can get a narrator who you just don’t think fits the story, but Skylar Summers hit each voice perfectly. I really enjoyed her Scottish accents.
Before I start the story review I will say there are times I felt the story did drag a bit BUT since this is the first book in the series, I chalked it up to world and character building. The excessive details about random things would pull me out of the story at times but over all I still liked the story and am ready for book 2.
Killian finds a feral shifter who is being held in a human zoo/sanctuary when he goes to get her. Right from the start he knows she is different but does not understand how or why. We meet Catrina who has been through the biggest loss of her life and is scared. She was hidden away while her parents were being killed and then ran…for 6 years in wolf form.
We see Killian, Jamie and the rest of the pack welcome Catrina and try to help her acclimate to the human world again. We also see the chemistry between Killian and Cat. Its very instant they have a drive to touch and see each other all the time.
We soon deal with pack jealousy over Killian’s obvious affections for Cat. We see Cat making friends and forming family/pack bonds even if she denies it. But Cat is looking for revenge against those who killed her parents.
We soon meet the “bad” people but don’t understand what is happening except we know they want Cat. I will say as the story starts to unfold with who is looking for Cat, her past is opened up and we learn about her parents and life pre-murder, you cant help but feel sorry for her and all her loss. However, seeing Killian stand and support her even if his wolf gets a smidge jealous made me giggle….oh Killian.
The end of the story was super interesting. I liked the twist of what made Cat “special”. I also look forward to Aiden and learning more about him. But first up is Jamie in book 2 and I feel like Mr. Playboy isn’t loving being single after all he says.
Catrina has been in her wolf form and with out a pack for many years. Killian vows to help her and uncover her secrets. As she opens up to him and finally realizes the pack will stand behind her. As she learns to trust the pack she wants to solve her parents murder.
Great shifter read with suspense, action, family, betrayal, love and romance. A alpha male and a lost, but strong female make this a great read.
The love between Killian and Cat was sweet, hot and touching. There are lots to take in when you fall in love and love makes us crazy and ready to face any danger that comes with it. The story line created by the author is very deep and well developed. You will be lost in the suspense. Cat is looking for revenge and will she be able to handle herself when she finds the culprit? Will she be able to control herself and save the ones she loves? Will Killian accept Cat and fight for her? Will both of them find love together?
Catrina was 17 when her pack (mom and dad) were attacked and killed in Alaska. They hid her and she escaped. She traveled as a wolf for six years. An Alpha came to where she had been caught by humans and took her to his Sanctuary for wolves. She stayed in her wolf form for several days before she finally transformed. She wanted to train so she could kill whoever took her pack. Killian wants Cat in the worse way; and he finally takes her innocence. She now belongs to his pack and they plan on helping her find the killer. They also found something else at the old cabin a necklace with magical properties. Others are looking for the amulet and will do anything to possess it. A traitor, a family member, and a witch will all lead Cat to the answers she needs and to face her revenge. Who will it be? What is so important about the medallion? Who else will die for its secrets? Will Killian and her get their HEA? I received this as an ARC and am leaving a voluntary review.
This is a great shifter book. It has action, suspense, a handsome Alpha, a lost woman/wolf wanting revenge, a jealous pack member, witches, an evil woman shifter with an agenda, and hot steamy scenes. This is the first book in the series and I plan on reading more.
*WARNING* contains explicit adult sexual situations
Cat is a wolf shifter who heard her patents get murdered in their own home. Cat has stayed in her wolf form for six years hoping to catch the scent of the murders to get vengeance, also because she trusts no one.
Alpha of the Wolf Creek pack goes anywhere there is a wolf in need of help so if it is a shifter, he can get them away from humans.
I thought this book was okay. The reason Cat’s parents were killed is new, not something I’ve read before. The biggest problem here for me was the repetition of Cat’s feelings. Seems like at least one full page in every paragraph is her character say “i’m not pack” “it’s my fight” and on and on in that context, it made the story a bit boring for me.
