A haunting? A hallucination? Or something even worse?Twenty three years ago, Maudie Sampson’s childhood friend Jessica disappeared on a family holiday in Cornwall. She was never seen again. In the present day, Maudie is struggling to come to terms with the death of her wealthy father, her increasingly fragile mental health and a marriage that’s under strain. Slowly, she becomes aware that there is … becomes aware that there is someone following her: a blonde woman in a long black coat. As the woman begins to infiltrate her life, Maudie realises no one else appears to be able to see her.
Is Maudie losing her mind? Is the woman a figment of her imagination or does she actually exist? Have the crimes of the past caught up with Maudie’s present… or is there something even more sinister going on?
Lost Girls is a psychological thriller from the crime writer Celina Grace, author of The House on Fever Street: a dark and convoluted mystery which proves that nothing can be taken for granted and no-one is as they seem.

Great read. Want more by this author.
Love the authors’ style. She is down-to-earth, and it makes it very easy to connect with her characters. The story draws you in, and I just wanted to keep reading. The book may seem slow at times, but it is ‘knitting’ a yarn, building the story in little details all the way to the end. Great read.
I didn’t like this book. Too many unanswered questions and abrupt ending.
slow moving, somewhat undeveloped characters, plot twist made it okay
Lost Girls started out a bit slow & at one point I had almost decided not to continue reading it, but I didn’t stop & I’m glad I didn’t put it aside. It ended up being a fairly good story. One, at one point where I couldn’t put it down. I had to find out the outcome which I did.
I love Celina Grace’s characters and her story lines. The plots weave intricately and the pacing is pitch perfect. Fortunately, her “people” aren’t … Grace’s character are flawed and all too human — which means that the “fiction” rings true to experience even if you’ve never been up close and personal to death, murder & mayhem. Her chsracters …
Spooky. Good story-telling up until the end, which could have been done a bit better. But most of the story held my interest and the characters were well fleshed out. Enjoyed it.
Loved t
I truly enjoyed read this book, but I did not like the end!
You don’t see the ending coming. But the author does leave you hanging about the outcome.
Couldn’t wait for it to end. Slow moving, plot was not clear.
Slow moving, ok book.
It was too “British” but a pretty good story. Kind of guessed the ending but then had doubts that I was right while reading it. But as it turned out I WAS right! When a great deal of money is involved, the ending is predictable.
First time reading this style of writing… Twisty at times and confusing! I had to finish it to understand it totally…

I didn’t like it. You knew what was going to happen before it actually did. I kept thinking if the heroine got off the booze, and got a grip on her life, she may have known her idiotic husband wasn’t who she thought he was. She wasted her time going to the shrink.
This psychological thriller was different from the usual police procedurals by this author (which I enjoy). The story was dark, and pulled me in from the beginning. The protagonist made me anxious with her self-destructive behaviors (much as in Girl on a Train), but I had to keep reading late into the night. I thought I’d figured out the ending, …
I have read several of her books! I enjoy them very much.
I really enjoy this author and have read all
Of her books. This one was not her best.
The plot was easy to guess as I was reading.
It was evident the husband was behind the
Sightings of the blonde lady especially since
There was money involved.
I like to be surprised as I am reading.
Did not expect this to be as good as it was. Couldn’t put it down.
I couldn’t get into it.
