Wonderful book but then again so are all of Jon Mills’ books – thanks to Jon for good reading
Good mystery with a twisted ending.
I did not care for this book, mainly because of the graphic violence. I realize that it was necessary in order to develop the plot but, once I read something like that, I can’t unsee it and it’s disturbing.
The plot itself was good and I liked the character development of Ben and Chloe, even though it was pretty predictable.
I figured out, early on, who most of the villains were, but missed one entirely.
All in all, if you can stand descriptions of torture, and enjoy psychological thrillers, you’ll like this one.
The killer turns out to be the police chief in the town near the national park. He is aided by a park ranger in Arcadia National Park.
I was engrossed. The story did remind me some of Kiss The Girls. I was caught up in it though from the first page. There was a twist that was a surprise for me. I don’t want to go into that so I don’t give anything away. It’s fiction so I am not bothered by things that would bother me in non-fiction. For instance the short amount of time to rise up in law enforcement ranks. I’m being told a story that I know is untrue. How well I enjoy it depends on if the teller sucks me in to the world he has made. The author sucked me in with the first chapter. I am eager to continue on with the next book in this series.
Excellent book! I highly recommend.
I have read at least 13 of Jon Mills books and loved everyone of them. Will read more when they become available.

New office to me but fantastic page-turner and great characters can’t wait to read more
Great story.
It was ok. I would not recommend.
Good book. I live in Maine, near this area. The descriptions of the backgrounds are clear and true for the time of the story.
Too many good story lines out there without using foul language in them. Did not finish book. I can find others much better to read.
It was a book I started early in the evening & stayed up most the night to finish. Excellent.
Haunting & scary
This was a page turner for sure. Could not put it down until finished.
Good read.
