Lost and Found is a poignant and heartwarming novel about a woman’s journey after the unexpected loss of her husband. The protagonist, Rocky, temporarily leaves her job as a therapist and journeys to Peaks Island, Maine to heal. On the island, Rocky accepts a job as an Animal Control Warden through which she meets a well-drawn cast of unique …
The reader quickly becomes aware that the author is well versed in psychology. While the premise of Rocky moving to an island to work as an animal control officer is a bit “Hallmark”, I found her insight into grief and the mind of the anorexic girl very interesting.
Good characters, enjoyable book. I love any book about dogs.
This book is written in an unusual style as there is not a lot of dialogue. There is more thoughts by the characters and background than dialogue. That said, I found the story interesting and I could relate as I have also lost a husband.
Loved it
pulled me in from page one.
I didn’t want the book to end.
Great dog story!
Well written, superbly giving the reader a sense of the agony and void after suddenly losing a spouse. Two chapters are written from the dog’s perspective, and when I was done I had to go hug my 14-year old Lab.
A good different story about how one survives tragedy while encompassing kindness to animals. Good ending
Really enjoyed this book, well written!
Loved the relationship between dog and owner.
Took at little while to get into but good after you get there.
I felt for the widow and was sad she lost her husband at such a young age. I loved the dog and his devotion to his master. I loved how the people on the island were there for each other.
It was just a nice story and interesting characters. I enjoy most stories about animals.
I loved this book. A wonderful, heart warming story, about losing a loved one, too early, and the touching interaction and healing of a dog. Also the inciteful opinions and feelings as expressed as what was happening in the dog’s mind. This is the first book , by Jacqueline Sheehan, that I have read, and I look forward to finding more of her …
Widow escapes to island off Maine to grieve and eventually start healing with some funky friendships, a wounded dog, an archery lessons. Along the way she and new friends trap a stalker and uncover his contribution to a murder.
